Great video guys. Kens layout is less packed with stuff, and therefore looks more real. I certainly hope manufacturers will take advantage of both your sites to get information out to the model railroader community! Keep up the good work guys!
Great video. Like you, I was blown away at the size of Ken’s layout. Every time they’d say, “let’s go run some trains!” I’d think, “where?” Now I get it :)
Another great video love the hobby, awesome sights and gives a lot inspiration to we ,hobbyist may achieve with work and dedication. Also love the KENS SHOW,THE BEST HOBBY IN THE WORLD. WN SHOW.IS A FAVORITE RUclips VIDEO .BEST HOBBY IN THE WORLD.
I've followed Ken's videos for a while now. it's amazing the work he put into everything. Amazing. You're lucky to have seen it in person. Great job with the camera work
Nice interview James. That bloke certainly puts some effort into his work, and yes his layout is bigger than the impression given by the small glimpses we get on WNTW.
James, another solid home run! I subscribe to MRH and really enjoy Ken's models and his photography. When I retire I want to go be his helper :-) This video was really a nice addition for showing the WHOLE Patterson layout. We usually only get to see a few carefully set up scenes. I is interesting that the layout is always changing as Ken's interests and client base change. That speaks well for the design that he can remake several areas and still keep the overall layout. Tere is a lot to be learned there.
The landscaping - trees and bushes are as alive - even more impressive than the tains and this is not easy do do, I know. Trains just buy them but the work around is the thing.
I'd personally love it, if you did a re-review of the Daylight from MTH. In my opinion the old videos on it, don't show all of the features. If you could do that, i'd love it.
Very nice layout, nicely detailed. The lack of background murals is interesting. Wonder why, except that they rarely blend in seamlessly. Model loco sound is never quite right. Not enough bass, usually. And I've never seen a layout with natural looking light. Be interesting to try a single source (per room) warm light for natural shadows and a more natural sunlight appearance.
Very nice video and interview James. I am, of course, subbed to you both. Someone else mentioned the sound of the Challenger, so I dunno' about that horn for sure but I tell you what it needs is "Rolling Thunder"! Also, may I ask, was that your cousin filming this? The videography was professional for sure. Thanks. Cheers, Dan
Seria muito interessante seus videos com legenda em português temos milhares de ferromodelistas aqui no Brasil e todos apaixonados pelas maquetes ferroviárias dos Estados Unidos USA!
Hi Ken. I'm Eric. I noticed your power lines and love the realism you get when lines are arched as in real life , plus there thick enough were you can see them. Awesome! I myself use E Z line which is ok but can not be left arched due to its stretch abilities. If not taught they look like wiggles. What do you use for your material for your power lines?
Ken olá, seus vídeos são ótimos gosto muito de assisti-los mas não domino bem o inglês, tem como colocar em seus vídeos a legenda em português para podermos entender melhor o que estão conversando ? Obrigado!
jlwii2000 when you build the small n scale layout, if you do that is, can you do a how to video? I am making a n scale layout myself and I would very much appreciate if you did that. By the way, I subscribed! Great channel.
Your right.. I set up the sounds after they left. EQ, Chuff rate, slip , DDE , Then I re -shot the run bys outside in full sun on the river diorama yesterday. Sounds better set up right.
The photographer stinks! The layout is huge! And there is really too much to perceive. But for Pete's sake.....slow down the camera and get some close ups of those scenes! We all need to see how, when, where, which, who and why! Thank you!
Two of the most helpful people in one video... Holy cow
Thanks James, Ken does some awesome work
Yep Ken is a master at the hobby! Always love the WNTW videos! Lots of tips/and very easy to follow how to's!
Ken Patterson is awesome! Love what he does!
Great video guys. Kens layout is less packed with stuff, and therefore looks more real. I certainly hope manufacturers will take advantage of both your sites to get information out to the model railroader community! Keep up the good work guys!

That Woodland Scenics photograph was probably done on a computer, or heavily touched up.
Very interesting, if i can make one suggestion ... invest in better quality audio!

Not very impressive big but lacking in detail and substance I have see smaller layouts that were way better not even a top 100
Totally disappointing...
