I feel like Roman asked for Kerry’s number not because he thought there was more to the story, but because he genuinely felt bad for her and wanted to make sure she was OK. Roman has always been a kinder person compared to his siblings, but it was always shut down by Logan.
The thing about Kendall’s decision is that it’s exactly what Logan would do in his shoes, in fact Logan did it to Ken in season 1 after the failed vote of no confidence and Shiv did it to Ken in season 3 with her letter, it’s a great play and it works. I’m also not mad at him betraying his family because remember, they were all fine with sending him to prison for something he didn’t do in Season 2, he doesn’t really owe them anything at this point. Kendall’s always been the one to stick up for his siblings whenever Logan hit them like with Roman or made them cry like with Shiv or ignored them like with Connor but none of them ever stuck up for him, I’m happy he got his get back on them actually.
I don't know what you call it(plot device?) but the whole line ambiguity thing is such a genius idea. A single line on a paper creates so much drama. It reminds me of The Sopranos like how they deliberately keep stuff ambiguous in that show. Sometimes not getting a clear answer is more interesting than getting one.
I seriously believe that Kendall started to doubt whether his name was underlined or crossed through, which is what pushed him to change his mind at the end to shit on his dad. From the grave Logan is still making his son hate him and it is turning him into the killer Logan wanted.
Your analysis of the dramatic aspects of the show is excellent, but your appreciation of the comedy in the dialogue makes your reactions better. Succession is a very funny show--I think that's why so many people like it. Six more weeks, guys, and then it will be over.
Great reaction, I feel like this episode really showed the compassionate side of Roman. From the interaction he had with Kerry where he was the only one consoling her, to his genuine desire for the three siblings to run the company together. Roman has the biggest heart out of all of them while still being level-headed on business decisions and, in my opinion, he makes the most sense for CEO out of the siblings.
I think when Kendall is at the bathroom looking again at his name in the paper he realises that his name might be crossed out, which is again another humiliation coming from his father. That's why he ultimately decides to go for the "ruin my father reputation" strategy, as his way to revenge.
i think the opposite. if logan did underline it, it's because he believes kendall has the killer instict( like he did at the end of s2) so he does that to prove it to himself/ to logan( even though he's dead)
In HBO’s podcast last week Kara Swisher interviewed Brian Cox and he mentioned that each episode this season is it’s own day, to me it sounded like was also kinda suggesting like they’re all back to back days so basically we’re getting a 10 day span this final season
Great reaction and discussion again. I agree this episode was superb. The writing was a high wire act, pivoting from tone to tone. I’d say Marcia has a lot of power here to play. She’s likely got some voting power as a shareholder, lots of cash, but she also knows what happened with the waiter. She even alluded to Logan using it in early season 3. Kendall better keep her on side. Also, the way Hugo talks to his daughter is weird. I thought it was a call to his wife from the sexualised language. No wonder he barely speaks to his kid if that’s how he speaks to her!
Great video.I would like to add this to your analisis in the kids situation: Ken always failed (art girls, vaulter, both attemps to take over, how he 'fixed' the family loan situation that weakened the Roys over Stewy and Sandy) He tries to act strong but for me he's the most insecure one.He is weak, and he is alone.Nobody really likes him.And had Logan always cleaning after his mistakes.Shiv has Tom (He has strong feelings for her), she has connections in politics, Pierce has shown interest in her.Rome has Gerri. He is the most selfaware, he knows when he's confronting someone stronger than him and plays it smart (survival instinct?) .Neither Shiv or Ken have that.(Note how he dealt with Matson, with the Vaulter employees joining the union..and always notices things that his siblings dont because they are so full of themselves) Also, dont forget Ken has the waiter incident on his back, and he opened up to his siblings on season 3 finale about it.Marcia and Colin have proofs. If Ken wants to ruin Logan image, i dont think Marcia,Colin,Roman and even Shioban will let him, and he will fail again, have a nervous breakdown and will loose it to his adictions, again.Or He might be 'saved' by his siblings love if he doesnt go too far on his attemps. Will see. I love 'Succession'. Keep making these reaction videos, i really enjoy them.
You guys mentioned this last week but I recommend reading the variety deep dive into the Murdoch family, it’s not that long. It’s pretty crazy how similar it is to succession. Two boys and one girl, pitted against each other by Rupert Murdoch, etc. there’s also the Redstone family which was even more screwed up than the actual Roy family is in the show it’s crazy bro
Is it weird that Kendall just got his LICK back, dude is in good shape, hair is dyed super dark and long and the smile in the end , also he isn’t as pale and quiet lively , always on his feet, before he always looked like he was on the verge of a panic attack , it’s so satisfying to see him come into his own especially with the clapback on shiv after his dad kicks the bucket. He feels like Al Pacino in the Godfather
I guess, there is going to be a moment, when Ken might realize that he is not able to be like his father, that he has different nature. But it shall be dramatically too late.
I was thinking about the accident too, but I personally think its kinda unusable against Kendall at this point. The people who could gather some evidence are people who also got rid of some evidence so they d be also hurting themselves with selling Kendall out. And just the meer fact that "Kendall told me he did it" is not enough to reopen the case...realistically as far as we know nobody has anymore evidence on him ...I personally think that if there was levareage Logan d have already used it in s03-04. And simply knowing he did it without proof is not enough. At best it could be used to slander his name, but that d also slander the name of the company at this point so again, while Kendall d take the L, kinda everyone would too...and unlike everyone else I am pretty sure Kendall is more used to slander at this point XD
Shiv and Roman know about the kid dying/manslaughter thing. I can see Roman using it if he's backed into a corner, but I definitely see Shiv and possibly Tom using it against Kendall, in order to gain back some power.
Kendall did try to save the waiter. The waiter grabbed the wheel of the car, and Ken did try to get the guy out of the water. It's over, except for his guilt. What can they do to him now?
@@JeanBakula I don't know about the technicalities of the law when it comes to vehicular manslaughter, and a situation like this, but it's more so about exposing Kendall's skeletons in his closet than it is about actually sending him to prison
I was furious at Shiv and Roman for immediately turning on Kendall when his name was on the paper. Totally agree that Kendall is doing what he thinks is best for the siblings, but I don’t think the siblings are going to see it the same way. Definitely rooting for kendall though!
I agree. Logan wanted to send Kendall to prison for something Logan did. Ken has more business experience. Also, Roman knew tne sibs were bidding too high for 10 bil, and people like him, so he has potential. Tom is screwed now, and I think Greg will find another protector. He's getting good at the game. I wonder if Shiv will have the baby when she wants to leave Tom?
The pic in the NY Globe paper was HILARIOUS!! When questioned if he ever smiled or laughed that hard, romans’s “only if a hobo were on fire” had me 💀.. and his mumbling impression of Logan’s “friends” - “What’s his face?!” “Get the fucker away from me!” … he is the best. I think Kendall will be Richard the III.. he will rise & do horrible things for power, & then not know what the hell to do when he wins…. And maybe Roman & Shiv find venture’s or team up & take him down. He did murder someone & they know. We shall see! Greg tho 😆🤣

sorry i know this was 11 months ago but i would not call roman a "kinder person" 😭
@@katieryan1188 Compared to his siblings I would say him and Kendal were the kindest. Compared to a normal person none of them are kind 😂

Spot on with the Sopranos comparison, I feel this as well. It's refreshing and stimulating as a viewer.
I seriously believe that Kendall started to doubt whether his name was underlined or crossed through, which is what pushed him to change his mind at the end to shit on his dad.
From the grave Logan is still making his son hate him and it is turning him into the killer Logan wanted.

Thanks for tuning in again Javier! definitely a unique perspective on the interaction between Roman & Kerry - Curious to see where it goes!
Really great reaction! Your discussions were really thoughtful and fun.
After Tom talked to Roman you didn’t see his smile? He knew it effected Roman
Very smart analysis. Don't see a ton of RUclips reactors/reviewers seeing the stuff you guys see. Really appreciate it.

That threat to Hugo was the moment Kendall finally became a killer.
Just found you guys. It’s dope that you guys have actual informed discussions instead of just “of that was cool”
Thank you for tuning in! We hope you stick around for more!
You guys are killing it!!
I swear Roman and Kendal started using "pal" in their vocabulary from the moment they got the part.

"Woke Up This Morning" the theme for The Sopranos is also very good.
