This helped me out so much. I've only programmed in TIA16 and my teacher threw me an Omron PLC and said figure this one out. Would have taken me so long if I would'nt have found this. +rep

Today at work I was connected to Controller via ethernet switch so I chose the connection via hub and the connection didnt want to work :D
Then I switched on direct connection and it worked perfectly

Unmanaged switches often allow the direct connection

Thanks so much for this video.
When I go to simulation, it starts, but it doens't run. It's like if I was in stop mode. How can I solve this?
    Thanks.

Just found that I must apply at Task Settings ->Program Assignment Settings-> PrimaryTask: the program that we are using.
      Thanks

I dont understand the file system. How do I navigate between projects, once I have opened a project?

You can open multiple instances of Sysmac Studio if you need to work on multiple projects at once

For EtherCAT is there a special cable or normal Ethernet cat 6 cable can be use?

Standard Ethernet works fine. If you are going long range use Cat6E

Hi there. You probably need to establish some link. I have tried opc ua for Omron. Still learning other ways.
