Removed my first Deere inj pump today after watching this video. Decided to get creative and gave the pump shaft the smallest possible blip of the air hammer and boom, the gear was off. . Just letting you know. Enjoy your videos.

Been there done that with those pumps.
Couple of things to make life easier, take two wrenches that fit the injector pipe nuts and heat the open ends and bend one to 45 deg and other to 90degrees. Will make removing hard to get at pipe nuts sooooo much easier.
Secondly. Make up a much shorter puller so theres less flex in the bolts espcially if they are the M6 size bolts. If the taper is dry the gear will lock onto pump shaft much tighter than if theres some oil on the taper too.

Hey Clint ... I was a Diesel Mechanic and B Double Driver here in Australia for just over 40 Years, Retired Now, but Your Knowledge and hands on ability, plus your temperament really makes you a Top Shelf Plant Mechanic/ Fitter. Mate, if you didn't have your own business, you'd be able to get a Job in any Heavy Plant Workshop, anywhere.. That First Appearance on Dirt Perfect really showed the measure of your Character, as we would say here, a Good Decent Honest Bloke. CHEERS 😎

Put some Anti-seize on you puller shaft threads you might be surprised ,we have a tapered shaft setup and that is the only way it will pull it apart. If the puller threads are dry you'll never budge it ,but add anti-seize and game over. Worth the try next go around ours is like a 2''+ taper and 11/4'' fine thread puller shaft.

4/9/22; ...replacing that Stan-dyne Injection 💉 pump on JD Backhoe...wow! Much impressed 👏 with both yur 'home-made' Flywheel ⚙locking pin🗝 for #1 TDC & also yur injection pump locking pin 🗜📌 to keep injection timing correct at #1 TDC. Then yur mighty efforts to un-torque front gear of Injection Pump inside of its gear housing...using last resort 🔥 'hot' wrench 🔧 to get old 5000 hr original SD (#?×yz) pump out & replaced with factory Re-manufd pump. Wow...a lot of effort 👌, tools & time invested on this item !! Great outcome ! Thx for your contribution to heavy equipment repair. You have the shop, tools, lighting & patients to do video editing to bring all this to us armchair YT viewers. Many thx & look forward to yur next video 📹...??Unimog?🤔🚜👍👍👍😊

Reading the comments, antiseize the shaft to help with removal. Don't use Permatex, it will wash away over time, Locktite brand is more resistant to washout. Nice looking backhoe, great job.

Back in mid seventh I bought a bran new John Deeere 310A I put more than 10,000 hours on it never had a pump issue. John Deeere couldn't believe it. I guess wonce in a while you get Lucky rig. Actually the only problem I had with the machine was the driver seat , my Bobby machist rebuilt it for me , no more issues after that. But my most favorite rig was John Deeere 500c I guess it just didn't brake down, especially working it day after day for several years. I couldn't guess how many feet of ditches I dug. Remember back in those days Excavator were just becoming on work suites. No they practically rules the system.
