D2, without hesitation.....two advantages visible in this demo (regardless of stock versus OEM suspension): higher torque at lower rpm enabled D2 driver to keep car in more controllable steep uphill stretches (very clear in the first uphill demo), secondly, HDC is really one of the well done systems on Duster, however, D3 driver couldn't resist pressing brake pedal ocasionally, whereas D2 driver fully relied (and with good reason) on HDC....not touching break even when it might have felt needed......seems like a well experienced driver knowing his car ....again, another informative video....👌

Well, it s less bouncy because the suspension is not as good in offroad. It needs to lift the car better, like the one on the second generation Duster. As for the mild hybrid battery, it only helps when you start driving.
I don't understand the choice for the tce130 for the 4x4. The TCE150 also exists as a mild hybrid, and has even more torque than the standard 1.3. Hopefully for bigster?... maybe also some extra towing capacity for the bigster 4x4?

Iti inteleg alegerea facuta la trecerea unei generatii mai noi dar nu este si cea mai buna, poti sa lauzi cat vrei D3 dar parca se chinuie in fata unei generatii mai vechi. Why does Renault use a stupid engine like TCE when it has a great engine like DCI? I don't understand. I gave up buying a D3 just because it has a TCE engine. Because I believe that this small 3-cylinder engine will constantly fail in the future.

Its not a good sign that Dacia is still so reluctant with technical information since they planned to sell in november 2024😂. As some people know: Nisssan Quasqai and (to some extend) Pathfinder technology designs have been the base of the first Duster. Thanx god there was not too much taken from Renault. In addition your comparisons made it very clear that Dacia step by step is moveing away from "offroad".😭 My first tests showed that surprisingly the Pathfinder does much better offroad (however a heavy, heavy truck😬) and slightly worse on street. But much better than e.g. a Land Cruiser Prado.🤮

For my personal requirements the Nissan Pathfinder fits best: - more space than my current Duster (and the expected Bigster AND the LC Prado), - slightly better offroad capabilities compared to my Duster (hard switched 50/50 power distribution plus reduction gearing) - by keeping almost the street fun (power / torque to weight ratio, rear drive mode only possible, independent suspension front and back, pretty direct steering).

I can’t help myself thinking this was obvious from the beginning - the new Duster is inferior. Too much « looks » not enough offroad. And sorry to say for me the offroad look of the old Duster is actually more pleasing, less vraggibg and actually demonstrates a better departing angle. The only reason the D3 is popular is because most people use it on a Freeway and not what the platform is for. Big Market gap soon. I bet D4 will be even worse etc… Typical example of victim of its own success

Yes, it s stiffer, helps a lot at high speed in curves , makes the car steadier.
