    Is like a typical old spanish lighter. Very simple but cheap. Good job.

    My only question is that why did you open the o-rings like that? It’s way more easier to get them back into shape if you open them sideways

    OK. Haven't seen one of these in decades. My grandfather had one from when he was in the Army. He used his in his greenhouse to light the gas burner in winter to keep his orchid house warm. Didn't get a lot of use here in Florida, but he did use it now and then. Pretty cool.

    I do not understand how the rope burns just by clicking the flint. Was the rope presoaked with accelerant?

    • @lostandrestored
      @lostandrestored  3 года назад +3

      No, it kicks off enough spark to singe the rope to light what a sailor needs. It works great in windy or wet and places.

    Just wondering how it's used, can someone explain please

    • @lostandrestored
      @lostandrestored  3 года назад +3

      The flint throws sparks onto the rope and the rope burns just a little. It doesn't create a flame, but it's great when you're on a boat and need to light something.
