This is proof that these amps still sound spectacular. There are what.....50 demo's of this amp on RUclips, and NO ONE has them dialed in worth a damn. They all sound flubby, fizzy, with no articulation. He should do a demo on how to get an amp dialed in. Everything he plays through sounds absolutely phenomenal..
Hi great tone How high do you have the volume turned up? Did you do any comparison with the slo30? if so I would like to hear your thoughts undecided on which one to go with thanks
The volume on the 100 has to be tamed a bit with the level knob on the rear loop. This allows you to push the MV on the front. Bottom line is with the 100 - unless you are playing massive open areas and or arenas which I doubt you will never tap into the volume on tap. The other thing is if you want to be in the house PA you will not tap into that volume either. Flip side is to feel the punch and power of a 100w head it is cool and more of that than the Slo 30 for sure. right now the Friedman JEL 20w is my favorite amp!
@@cragginshred thank you , great info I usually like 100watt headroom better but These have so much preamp gain I’m thing 30 will be more that enough. I build a 20 watt marshall 2204 style amp with JEL specs indeed its a really awesome amp
@@cragginshred I've owned a couple of the older ones and I almost feel like these sound better. How well does the FX loop work? I know Soldano used to put the loop in an unconventional spot in the circuit, but with this new design, it's positioned normally.
@@Fla_Law_Dog despite all the hard core Slo guys opinion's, these are. The LEVEL control provides a 'System Volume' which in turn allows you to crank the Master volume beyond what you would normally be able to which open up the tones into music of the angels! Unless your in a stadium the older ones just cannot be heard like these.
@@cragginshred You mean the loop level knob? So u can open the amp up using the regular "master volumes" like channel volumes, then control the overall output with the loop level, like a global master?
@@Fla_Law_Dog exactly, on a Friedman BE deluxe it's called a 'System volume' which allows you to crank the pre and power amp tubes more then control the overall down to bedroom volumes.
Not at all, the louder they go the more power amp tube tone you get resulting in what effect to the tone???? Let me know your thoughts and I will tell you what I know to be true based on the dozens of boutique amp I have owned.
The EVH cabs are fantastic priced on the used market and and quite good cabs
Good but a bit compressed in sound.
Look for the Marshall MF280 cabs. They are like the oversized Mesa cabs with vintage 30’s. They have vintage 30’s in them.
Beautiful NOHO!! The SLO sounds amazing as they always do!!
Thanks! I looked long and hard before opting for this one!
That Friedman is amazing, and so the SLO
I think the EVH cab is an excellent match. Great toney rig!
The 5150 cab is the best cab on the market. Plus they build them so we'll it could probably survive a nuclear blast
That SLO has some killer tone man
Thanks ED!! The level knob on the loop makes it bearable, the amp is soooo loud!
Love the steel panther lol
Their first 3 albums rival anything that came out in the 80's!
You've always got great tone mate.
Thank you!! I wish I could afford to keep all these amps, well I can but I don't want to leave my wife with too much gear :)

@cragginshred, sounds great! Make it longer next time.
You boosting any channel ? Sick ass tone. Have you tried mix matching speakers with those evh speakers like v30 0r dv77
Thanks, I have not. I need to buy the amp a 3rd time 😢
So many people trying to get the brown sound. The SLO has it right out of the box !
It does! Playing the Ain't talkin bout love riff and it's it truly better than the recording -bold statement but true nonetheless

What were your settings good sir?
Whats the riff at 0:34?
Eyes of a panther
Hey whas that straight into the amp no boost pedals etc etc. thanks!
Always use a boost in the front to tighten it up. Settle on a Boss SD -1 now
Nice 🤘
Is this one of the new SLO's?
Yup!

Sweet looking guitar. Did you order it custom from Friedman?
Thanks, nope from Sweetwater
Everyone should play their valve amp at 10 to hear what it sounds like cranked.
Most sound exactly the same.

Play clean channel so we can really hear its voice.
Sold it for the slo30
loud ass amp too no controllable volume like Friedman or 3rd power amps lol
Says the guy who has no videos and will never be able to buy a Slo 🤣
@@cragginshred That's an unnecessary response. The guy wasn't saying anything negative about you. 🤷
