Here's my complete transcription. It's pretty long, and it does have errors. The call of the sea calls many indeed, for reasons quite varied and wide. The sea-sickened cabin boy pondered on this, as he vomited over the side. For what reason had he to be out at sea on this bitterly cold starlit night. For he was the lookout, and lookout did he, less the ship's bow be dashed by the ice. Still a young mind can wander, and wander it did, on women and money and beer. Then a feminine voice emerged from the sea, and a song landed sweet on his ear. "Come to me, come to me unto the waves, and let my embrace keep you warm. Take a look over the side of the ship, and gaze at my beautiful form." He leaned over and squinted but struggled to find the source of the sweet melody. Still further he stretched as the ship's bow struck ice, and head-first he fell to the sea. Tensions were high next day on the ship for reasons I need not explain. Rations were low and so was the patience of the cook and the bosun McClain. The cook was exhausted and McClain's hands were raw from fixing the ship's damaged bow. When the captain passed by and barked out commands, the two of them muttered and scowled. The last of the crew was the first mate Morgan, who the captain could trust with his life. He kept watch that night and staved off boredom and thought of his children, and wife. Pirates had ravaged the towns of the coast, and prayed that his loved ones were well. But Morgan would shortly turn white as a ghost when he heard these few words from the swell. "Come to me, come to me unto the waves, and nothing remains on this Earth. Your family was killed in the last of the raids, so how much is living now worth?" "No!", Morgan wailed, "You lying see cow!", but somehow he knew it was true. He pulled out his pistol and aimed at his brow (BANG!) and tumbled into the blue. The shot woke the men and in minutes the deck rang with slurs from the last of the crew. "Sirens, Captain", exclaimed the cook, "I think you mistake us for fools!" "Do I care what you think, you petulant turd, I'm in command of this ship! You both must be clever and follow my word, or else you'll be taking a dip!" The cook and McClain went back down again, cursing while the Captain took watch. The hours went by while the stars filled the sky, and he sipped on the last of his scotch. He took one last swig and looked at his glass, and hurled it down into the surf. He'd need all his cunning, and had to think fast, when the sea answered back with a verse. "Captain your weight is as sharp as a knife, and I can't convince you to part with your life. But grant me more verses, and I'll tell you instead, that before the sun rises, you will be dead." Minutes went by and the Captain was tense, biting down hard on his tongue. But he couldn't handle the fear and suspense. "I'll grant you more verses, explain what you sung!" Silence. "Ehhh Siren... "Captain you must be aware of your crew, treacherous men will be coming for you...you will die in torment and pain, tonight you'll be stabbed in the back by McClain." The Captain's mind raced, he could now understand, it was clear his men's hatred ran deep. Well, they never knew he concocted a plan, "I'll drown the sick dogs in their sleep!" Down in the cabins, a knockin' was heard, and the startled cook suddenly woke. The knockin' got louder, he trembled, disturbed. It was comin' from under the boat. He crouched on the floor upon hearin' a voice, and heard these faint words through the wood: "Your Captain is mad, he's headin' for ice. Get to the deck if you value your life." He ran to the deck and spotted the Captain boarding the only life boat. He lept at the man, but the Captain was strong and he soon had the cook by the throat. The Captain cried out, shuddered and shook, his back had been pierced by a blade. He stumbled forward keeping hold of the cook, and the two tumbled into the waves. McClain rushed off to the wheel of the ship, mere seconds from hitting the ice. But with blood on your hands, it's tricky to grip, and the ship and the lifeboat were sliced. The water rose fast, it was bitterly cold, so freezing he quickly went numb. And just as his body was leaving his soul, he thought he heard somebody hum. (Singing ensues...) "So, remember this tale, there's a lesson in this for men who are foolish and young. If a maiden seems willing, but smells like a fish, 'tis best if you don't take the plunge."

Barnaby's Woes The pressure now growing there's no way of knowing will this year better the last? Is it achievable or inconceivable, how to improve on the past? An hour, a day, "Need more time!" he will say, his deadline decidedly near. Composing a song, making props taking long! Regretting the waste of a year. Matilda keeps stirring and never heard purring, these days for her too have been taxing. For in her cat's mind, "To be more refined, my Master should spend time relaxing!" Creativity stirring there's no more demurring the brilliance that always springs forth. A new plot so thrilling, relentlessly chilling as wind coming down from the North! But pressure still lingers, "What is wrong with my fingers?" His viewership hangs in the balance. Inspiration then comes! "This is great, I'm all thumbs!" and he pulls it all off with his talents. So rest well my poor Dixon, no edits need fixing, the upload is showing "Complete." Your fans will revere as they once again hear a tale turning them white as sheet! Epilogue Matilda now resting, no longer protesting, successes advising were slight. From the throne of a shelf she keeps asking herself, "Why are humans so scared of the night?" Thanks, Barnaby, for making another year of anticipation fulfilled!
The stories were made at a time when people were highly superstitious and would be the only way they could explain what was going on in the sailors heads as psychology wouldn't be invented until at least another hundred years afterward and the very idea of psychology back then would have been seen as heresy or witchcraft so to speak
Dude could do stop motion quality puppetry on stage live in front of an audience. That is literally insane. He made something that I literally thought was never possible. But most importantly he’s an amazing storyteller, the story was excellently written from beginning to end and the rhymes are seamless. This a lightning in a bottle level of talent.
Absolutely brilliant. I’m hooked. (Ha! Do you see what I did there? Flipping genius) But not as genius as this amazing work of art. Music, story telling, puppetry, puppet fabrication, set fabrication, film making, editing, sound engineering, lighting phew...Yes, definitely talented and definitely my new favourite thing. Thank you so much for sharing your creativity here with me. Very much appreciated 🙂🐿

I'm continually amazed by the leaps and bounds your techniques have improved bringing your creations to life. The knitted puppets are brilliant, the large feels of mass, and moves accordingly, and you've really hit your stride with the cinematics you capture in these worlds you manifest. AMAZING job on the music & writing. As someone who grew up with a love for the magic of puppetry from various outlets, thank you.
Man, I keep coming back to this video :) Very well put together, very good story. You wrote this yourself? Excelent verse. You are a true artist. Even the joke at the end was so in character. I was sure this was a legitamate old pirate story. If you ever visit california, in san francisco on the first saturday of the month, there's a "Sea chanty singalong" that they hold on the ship Balclutha. I play accordian there sometimes. If I gave you credit, do you mind if I perform this there? (after covid-19 allows us to meet again, of course) I think the old timers would appreciate something new.

"Come to me, come to me unto the waves, and let my embrace keep you warm. Take a look over the side of the ship, and gaze at my beautiful form."
He leaned over and squinted but struggled to find the source of the sweet melody.
Your family was killed in the last of the raids, so how much is living now worth?"
"No!", Morgan wailed, "You lying see cow!", but somehow he knew it was true. He pulled out his pistol and aimed at his brow (BANG!) and tumbled into the blue.
The shot woke the men and in minutes the deck rang with slurs from the last of the crew.
"Sirens, Captain", exclaimed the cook, "I think you mistake us for fools!"
"Do I care what you think, you petulant turd, I'm in command of this ship! You both must be clever and follow my word, or else you'll be taking a dip!"
The cook and McClain went back down again, cursing while the Captain took watch.
But grant me more verses, and I'll tell you instead, that before the sun rises, you will be dead."
Minutes went by and the Captain was tense, biting down hard on his tongue. But he couldn't handle the fear and suspense. "I'll grant you more verses, explain what you sung!"
Silence.
"Ehhh Siren... "Captain you must be aware of your crew, treacherous men will be coming for you...you will die in torment and pain, tonight you'll be stabbed in the back by McClain."
The Captain's mind raced, he could now understand, it was clear his men's hatred ran deep. Well, they never knew he concocted a plan, "I'll drown the sick dogs in their sleep!"
Down in the cabins, a knockin' was heard, and the startled cook suddenly woke. The knockin' got louder, he trembled, disturbed. It was comin' from under the boat.
He crouched on the floor upon hearin' a voice, and heard these faint words through the wood: "Your Captain is mad, he's headin' for ice. Get to the deck if you value your life."
He ran to the deck and spotted the Captain boarding the only life boat.
(Singing ensues...)
"So, remember this tale, there's a lesson in this for men who are foolish and young. If a maiden seems willing, but smells like a fish, 'tis best if you don't take the plunge."
Nice!
It's torment not sorbence
@@kutenaiabi4413 Corrected. Thank you very much. I still suspect that I don't have that entire passage correct. If you can hear it better than I, please advise.
@@NOLAMarathon2010 Good job!! but you just have to put the captions on he did custom captions lol
@@NOLAMarathon2010 you said weight at the sentence 'Captain your .... is as sharp as a knife'
but its probably 'wit' which means intelligence.
God this must have been the 15th time I've watched this within the last 3 days slackjawed in awe towards the beauty of the story displayed. Best I've watched (so far...)!!!
I cannot express how much I love these ghost stories
I am speechless. As someone who thoroughly enjoyed the previous spooky story this surpassed any expectations I had. I can only imagine what the next one will be like.
Barnaby's Woes
The pressure now growing there's no way of knowing will this year better the last?
Is it achievable or inconceivable, how to improve on the past?
An hour, a day, "Need more time!" he will say, his deadline decidedly near.
Composing a song, making props taking long! Regretting the waste of a year.
Matilda keeps stirring and never heard purring, these days for her too have been taxing.
For in her cat's mind, "To be more refined, my Master should spend time relaxing!"
Creativity stirring there's no more demurring the brilliance that always springs forth.
So rest well my poor Dixon, no edits need fixing, the upload is showing "Complete."
Your fans will revere as they once again hear a tale turning them white as sheet!
Epilogue
Matilda now resting, no longer protesting, successes advising were slight.
From the throne of a shelf she keeps asking herself,
"Why are humans so scared of the night?"
Thanks, Barnaby, for making another year of anticipation fulfilled!
So Sirens were the explanation for the depression and anxiety that arose from being on the waves, as well as some sea accidents. That is really cool.
This is easily one of the greatest pieces of art I’ve ever seen online
This has to be one of the coolest things I've ever seen.
The scary stories have absolutely become my favorite Barnaby videos!
I’ve been waiting for this ever since I saw a picture on Instagram!!!!!!
Absolutely brilliant. I’m hooked.
(Ha! Do you see what I did there? Flipping genius)
But not as genius as this amazing work of art. Music, story telling, puppetry, puppet fabrication, set fabrication, film making, editing, sound engineering, lighting phew...Yes, definitely talented and definitely my new favourite thing.
Thank you so much for sharing your creativity here with me. Very much appreciated 🙂🐿
How did I miss this? Just what I needed, more delightful puppetry! Thank you Mr. Dixon.
What that heck that was god-tier entertainment!?
Also I forgot how much I love the combo of Barnaby's vocals with his pitched humming (I think that's what it is)
Yo this was one of the best storytimes I’ve ever witnessed
This mans content is really the best on RUclips and the production quality is outstanding, he really deserves way more fame than he gets
This is actually masterful. It should have more view for sure
This is so good. I've watched it 4 times now. Such a cool vibe
I’ve re watched this so menu time. Amazed by the puppetry, and voice acting. I love his artistic view in stuff. Including the new two puppets. They are like wisps or souls. Just how they glow in the dark, just amused and amazed me. Love the puppets, hope you never stop.
This needs WAY more attention this is amazing! All of Barnaby’s works are so nicely done
Quite the interesting tale. Not sure if I like it more than last year's Halloween video, but.. both are certainly great. ^w^
Good job! Hopefully these Halloween stories will be a yearly recurring thing since they are an absolute joy to listen to.
Love the detail of that little droplet of spit coming out of the character's mouth at 3:55
Whatever it is you're doing.. Please don't stop. I just discovered your channel and trust me I've been watching your content for 4 hours straight.. I don't do alot of commenting on RUclips vids but I highly respect your passion and hard work you put on in this beautiful channel.
"If a maiden is willing..."
That whole line is just good, sound life advice there, it _always_ applies.

Sorry, my brain told me to...
Everytime I see a mermaid I think of “The Lighthouse.”
Whyd you spill your beans hash brown... Why did you spill your beans
HARK!
Yer fond of me lobster ain't ye?
Tell me, Winslow, how long have we been on this rock?
five weeks? 2 months? Help me to recollect...
When I came to this I forgot how haunting your voice was, the story had me on the edge of my seat and that voice made it 10 times beter.😌
What fantastic story!!! Your puppeteering is so expresive and enjoyable and the story itself is a fantastic lisen. Well done 👏
Boogie "The Narrator" ... always entertaining.
I love this. Theater experience, incredible!
Man, I keep coming back to this video :)
Very well put together, very good story.
(after covid-19 allows us to meet again, of course)
I think the old timers would appreciate something new.
My hands hurt watching the movements of these puppets.
Very well done.
I love the knitted puppets! They have wonderful movement and expression!
Ah, my favorite kind of horror. The type with a punchline.
