Absolutely AWESOME video Cari! So thorough and so very very important! I cannot stress enough the importance of spending lots of time with your pets on a daily basis and weekly weigh-ins and health checks. Knowing your pets along with these excellent tips are the absolute best way to catch illness early in animals who are experts at hiding it!
Great video! Such an important topic. I'm so glad you are making educational videos! Ysa was so cute on her pink 'health check' throne - what a wonderful model she is! Such a good girl! It was lovely to hear the piggies 'asking for their pellets' too. I love that sound!
Thank you so much for this lovely guinea pig health video! I love watching all of your videos! I have a guinea pig that I love so much! I am always looking for the best ways to take care of my guinea pigs! 💕🐖😄🌈
My guinea pig had what looked to be dandruff and one little bald spot. I told my mom I was concerned but she said it was probably nothing because she was still eating a acting the same. A few days went by and I still felt like something was wrong. At our vet its $30 to get a guinea pig checked and my mom felt she was fine but I told her I did research and was worried she was getting mites. My mom told me if I wanted to pay for it I could take her in so I did. And we found out she was starting to get mites just like I thought. 1 year later she is happy and healthy! If you EVER feel like something is not right your the owner and you know your piggies best!
What a perfect video!!! I do this with my piggies every week, I think it's sooooo important! Two of my girls need special care, one has hormonal problem and the other one is a recurring gas problem, so weight her every week is very necessary. I also do it for my boy and my other girl 😉 Hugs!!💖💖
Thank you for this video 🙂 was a lot of help. My future guinea pigs will appreciate it. wish I've seen it sooner, maybe I'd still have my precious Daisy with me [*]
I feel guilty rn because when I first got my piggies I was ten y.o. and didn't know about the piggies as much as I should have. (I thought I had done my reseach and reading but I guess that in those books I read was some wrong information (they were from 1998 and 2002) For example: 1) I didn't know that they should be weighed weekly 2) I had no idea that their cages need to be that big (I did know that they need room but I didn't know that even a Mid west cage isn't big enough for 2 (Learned from other videos of other people) 3) Had NO IDEA that their 'personals' (mostly boys) need to be checked and CLEANED weekly 4) I didn't give them enough vedgetables daily 5) Didn't know that you need to have as many hidies as you have guinea pigs (Had two boy brothers in a mid west cage with one house that had only one entrance)(they ended up fighting and are in seperate cages now) So yeah..... Just wanted to comment this for people to see how important it is to do your research before getting a pet for you or somebody else. Because a pet isn't a cute little toy that exists for your entertainment. They need the right care and conditions for them to have a good life. Moral of the story: DO YOUR RESEACH AND LEARN FROM MY AND OTHER PEOPLES MISTAKES AS MUCH AS YOU CAN!
Very informative!!! Great video ...I saw a few white spots on my fleece...Then checked it out..At first I thought it was a young boar thing if you know what I mean then I learned that they weren't supposed to have dark green veggies!! After I had been told Kale was okay for them!!! Took him off Kake watched weight and checked him throughly everyday...Yhe white spots stopped!! I so wish people that don't know what piggie can eat and can't eat would quit making videos...Until I found people like you and LooBooShedsZoo, Valerie etc. I was so confused on what they couldn't and could have...Its sad in America that you can't buy true book on piggies...I had bought piggies for dummy's yrs ago...Evan that book don't tell me what you guys do!! American pet stores need to quit selling pets that they don't offer correct and healthy diets for...That's another subject!!! Would love you guys to do a video on what they can eat and can't and why...For anyone out their like I was and am still trying
to find different things they can have to eat...It can be real hard to care for them when you have to go learn or you think your doing right and then find out your hurting them...Thx enjoyed very much Shey PS posted to all my FB Piggie friends 😘
Nice video! I was looking at your cage set, it's really clean, I was wondering what do you do with the pee? Because of the pee i have a lot of problems cleaning the cage. Also can you order somethings to piggie chic? Continue doing some nice videos like that, it's really helpful.🙂
I wasn't on this channel for a while.. But I think I should start watching u again after 2 months I think :D I want to ask u a question, and I hope u'll respond. How long did your OLDEST piggie live? :) Thank u.
Hi Cari, I don't know if you will see this but I'm getting two guinea pigs and I've noticed several youtubers putting fleece or towels down as bedding. How often do you change the bedding for your guinea pigs? I'm getting two females around 2 years old :)
Is their pee to be like a milky color an smells a Lil strong I just got my Lil boy piggy from a pet store an I was trying to bond a Lil with him an he pee an poo on the blanket I had him in idk if maybe got a Lil scared so I put him up but I'm a Lil worried about the color of the pee thanks
Do not worry, this happens to everyone. The Guinea pig is simply nervous. Once she gets used to her surroundings/home she will start eating drinking moving around, hop this helps!
