The holding the ps button and the share button at the same time is the absolute answer for Bluetooth pairing and after 6 videos you’re the only person to even bring it up thank you!!!!!
I guess I have to reset my controller like this forever. Cause every time I turn on my PlayStation the controller fucks up and becomes unresponsive. 😡 And what the hell happened to the PlayStation store it's all messed up. And all the good games are gone.
literally no method works for me, it just shows bluetooth devices but it doesn’t connect after i connected my ps4 controller to my ipad it doesnt wanna connect to the ps4 no more, i tried pairing bluetooth, usb. nothing seems to work 🙁
I fixed it with his method, hopefully it helps other people! For anyone wondering. I had an extra controller. This can be done with a keyboard, but unfortunately you need another device to use so you can navigate to the “Bluetooth devices” page for this to work. I already had about 10 dual shocks controllers listed on my Bluetooth devices list, so I forgot all of them and left the one controller I was using. After that, connect your controller with a charger, reset it with a pin for about 15 seconds. You can tell that it is resetting because if you see the yellow charging light on your controller, it will turn off while you are resetting, and turn back on when you’re done. Then, hold the share button first then the ps button to get the flickering lights. This should bring your controller on the list of Bluetooth devices. For some reason while my screen was on the ‘Bluetooth devices’ page, it made empty rows for more places where the “DUALSHOCK 4” would go. I’m not sure why, but It didn’t connect my controller when that happens. To fix this, just press on one of the empty rows, and they’ll all disappear but slowly re appear. Use this time to quickly connect your controller then with the steps above. If so, then you’ll see your controller pop up on the list like in the video. Hopefully this works for some people, and good luck! Edit: I posted this comment so long ago and it makes me really happy that this worked for a lot of people! Glad I could help guys :D
If the light keeps flashing even when connected to USB, try this: Hold the power button on the PS4 until it beeps twice. Unplug and plug the power cord back in as well. From there, connect the PS4 to the controller via USB cable and press the PS button on the controller. Worked for me, hope it works for you :)

DONT connect controller to remote play app Step 3 hold down share and ps4 button on controller for 5 seconds and wait for it to start blinking Step 4 use the remote play app to go to settings>devices>Bluetooth devices>choose DUALSHOCK4 at the bottom Step 5 yay! You connected the ps4 controller. You can now turn off Bluetooth on your phone and use the controller

Just had this problem! Finally found out that you HAVE to use a data cable and not a charging cable to connect the controller. A data transfer cable will have the piece that hooks to the controller, then the cord, then somewhere in the middle of the cord it’ll have a chunky piece, then more cord, then the usb that goes to the PlayStation. I dug through all of our cords until I found one with the chunky piece in the middle and that one worked. If you’ve found the right one, the controller will glow orange then connect. I hope this helps! (And I hope you find a data cable around the home). Someone said that you can use anything like a Roku cable or an old camera cable that people used to use to transfer photos onto their computer. Anything that moved information from one electronic to another.
