Best performance I've heard on this... I do Love Elvis version too.. but, Glen's effortless flexibility of key change makes this unbelievably Brilliant! Love the emotional passion he exudes, his vocals So Beautiful! LOVE Glen.. So Missed!♥️

Whauw. I don't think anyone has ever delivered this Dixiesong as Glen does here. His voice is uncompareable. Thank you NorwoodGlen for posting all theese great videos and songs with Glen Campbell. I listen to many of them every day.

I lost a love one to that cruel disease they call Alzheimer's. It's hard to look at this man so young and talented and know that he and his family will suffer his loss to this terrible illness in the years to come. I miss you Glen Campbell, God Bless You and your family. My prayers are with you and your family and all that suffer from this disease.

It doesn't make you an old fogey to recognize true talent. This man had a gift, and we were fortunate to be the recipients of his body of work. He never needed the trappings of bells and whistles and fire and ice. His talent was so pure, such foolishness wouldn't have been tolerated by his audiences.
Glen, all your trials are now over. Sing joyfully in God's heavenly choir.

Who today could deliver such a performance? Too bad what passes for talent today. Guess I'm just an old fogey. Never thought I would be.

This is on Glen's "Letters to Home" CD and is excellent!! Carl Jackson's banjo and mandolin are featured on several of the tracks...what a great CD.

I was completely transfixed at this performance. The video itself is of poor quality and causes some distortions. If this same live performance exists *without the distortions* here on RUclips or on a DVD or anywhere else, please let us know. I would so love to see and hear this as he delivered it on that occasion. Just exquisite.

Not actually written by Mickey, obviously; they are three very old traditional American songs. Mickey's stroke of genius was to stitch them together.

True, but if it wasn't for Newbury's arrangement, virtually no one would've heard these awesome classics.
And rock music is filled with examples of old folk songs being revamped, re-released and only celebrated under the arrangers name. ...
Therefore, this is Mickey Newbury's song, thru and thru. ... 😉

    WHAT! A! VOICE!
I've asked before and I'll ask again: Is this performance available on a DVD? I would love to have this to enjoy without the distortions. A CD would be okay, but I like looking at him, so I'd prefer a DVD.

Hi, I have the brilliant DVD…GLEN CAMPBELL Live Anthology 1973 - 2001, it includes many bonus features where you will find this very same performance ( the best version out there although I find it hard to watch it through tears)😍. It also has a CD too. The DVD contents are all from Glens English shows so I do hope you find it suitable to play in your area. I am gonna have to replace my copy soon…I’m wearing it out😀.

Sorry to disagree, folks, especially because I love Glen's music, but Mickey Newberry owns this. Glen's timing and inflection are off here (to my ear).

That's OK, we admire Mickey greatly and I don't even think Glen (RIP) would be offended by your comment. BTW, check out Glen's cover of Blue Sky Shining by Mickey on our channel. Beautiful song.
