never realized how involved this line was. I never thought Paul was a bad bassist by ANY means but im starting to appreciate his lines waaaay more than I used to
Your tone is so accurate to Paul's tone! Fantastic playing; especially how you actually played the bassline how it was recorded instead of most people who play the 'simplified' live/non-record version.
@@bencepolyak980 Thank you so much for your positive comment. It means a lot to me! I'm planning to make more Slipknot covers in the near future, so please be sure to check them out too😁🤘
@@UmHanwool Im not "that big" of a Slipknot fan but whatever you do, its going to be quality. For some reason I thought Tool - Parabola is a song you would smash like no other. Its not a request. Hey! Came here from the short notification! Do you have any tips on doing the fast high note segments without flopping around? I'm learning the song right now and so far that's the only part I can't get a around understanding. Sick bass tone btw.
I always say never start playing at full speed if you can't play accurately at a fast tempo. I often start at 50% speed and gradually increase it as I get comfortable. Try getting used to it at a slower speed first. :) Hope that helps, and thanks for the comment!

@@hadifelani I once used 135 on C standard and it felt nice with slightly higher tension, so I believe 135 will do just fine for drop B too. However, it seems Paul Gray used 110 (lol), so it really depends on personal preference. Start from 125 or 135 and find out what feels best for you. :)
I never heard it isolated, damn, that's a sick bassline

that downtuned e string (to a b i think) looks like its about to jump off the fretboard lol
What pedal or affect are you using for this
I used a Darkglass B7K v2.
@@UmHanwool oh no now I have to buy another pedal
Asian precision!
🤘🤘
uh huh DEAR .............all I GOT all I GOT >>>IS INSANE ......jamit ..
Hey, man, what tunes on your darkglass pedal? I need this
I think it was like this.
ibb.co/jZCvkjX
whats the tuning
It's drop B (B F# B E) tuning.
@@UmHanwoolI just play them it normal cuz I can’t be arsed
What amp do you use?
Darkglass b7k v2 preamp pedal :)
what kind of picks do you use?
I don't have a particular model in mind, just any picks with a moderate thickness. :)
Хороооош🤘
I shall get a bass
Nice!
How do you tune string bass?
I used Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinky Bass (45-105) for the strings.
@@UmHanwool You tune B F# B E right ?
@@dtxl1335 Oh you meant the tuning, sorry. Yes, I used drop B tuning which is B F# B E.
@@UmHanwool Thank you brother 🙏
@@dtxl1335 Anytime. :)
Whats the tuning?
It's drop B tuning.
What string gauges are you using?
I used Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinky Bass strings (45-105), which are a bit loose for dropped B tuning, haha.
What would be the ideal gauge for that tuning? Use the 135 from 5 strings bass? @@UmHanwool

@@UmHanwool indeed, I like thicker strings due to how often I down tune. 135 on bass guitar, and 0.12 on electric/acoustic guitar. 😁
go watch paul greys vid, this isnt how its played...
I didn't play it based on Paul Gray's lesson video but played it as it was recorded on the album. Thank you :)
