Eloquent and on point. Thank you for creating this video. It's a sad commentary on the current state of manufacturing and consumer services, and not just in the RV industry, but across the board. Nothing man made is perfect, but the desire to produce quality goods and take care the customer goes a long way to make up for any shortcomings. Best wishes and luck going forward.
Dealers suck, did you try and go to Forest City Iowa? We did total of three time. Once asap needed work immediately and twice while traveling and passing by. Their factory service center is fabulous. Nicest people took care of everything. For our Boldt have not had to go yet. Also we’re owners of a 2020 View and a Winnebago Travel trailer in the past.
We have not gone to the factory yet. I’ve heard similar stories but what irks me about that is why can’t they put out a rig that works correctly from the start? Why do we have to spend our money and time to go out of our way to get something fixed that should have been done correctly from the start? Their model of manufacturing is so backwards and inefficient it makes the mind boggle. If I was buying a Chinese knock off for a third of the price I’d expect problems like this. But from a legacy American company? This is really sad. I know I’m ranting and I need to focus on solutions but every issue that pops up are major ones and take our rig out of commission for weeks and months at a time. It’s stuck in Washington now waiting on a serpentine belt and is not drivable. Dead in the water. Ahhh, vanlife!!!
I totally agree with you and I'm on board with you. The RV Industry is broken with rampant poor quality with manufacturing and service especially Winnebago. They push these units out with absolutely no apparent final quality control inspection. I have a 2020 Boldt and I love it. I do however have a list of problems that were never found during the Winnebago assembly and I'm out of warranty. I was recently at a Volta campout with other van owners, and I heard lots of complaints about their Winnebago's. You nailed when you said in reference to Winnebago, that "they just don't care" There is a Boldt Facebook page with Boldt owners swapping ideas on how to fix their various factory induced problems.
Thanks for your comment. We will go to the Facebook group and introduce ourselves there as well. I know together we can get Winnebago to listen because if they alienate their customers then they won’t be able to sell any of their products. We do realize that not every single unit out there is junk, however, when major issues do arrive with units at an increasing rate maybe it’s time to reassess how things are getting done. We are looking forward to testing the rest of our systems and to finally get out on the road.
@@americanpromisedland As I commented on another video of yours: *THANK YOU. Thank You. THANK YOU! Very useful video and knowing the truth about this company. They bought off Newmar and there are issues there as well.* Its a shame whats happening in this industry. High crazy prices, but cheap service - if any service at all. Only the very private Class B converters/builders are mostly worth to look into, but it is a 2 year wait.
Sorry to hear The problems you have with the RV 😢 I am looking for one as a emergency house just in case, I would have a place to stay in 😅 I saw a video from a YT he got a coachmen Nova and he had some problems with it so he video the experience when he took it to Indiana coachmen HQ and he talked Rick the GM for the RV and he promised to fix the problem and he did at the end of the video he said Rick came talk to him again he said his feelings was Rick really cared about him and the problem with the RV he felt Rick was sincere and he promised to paid for the expensive he incurred driving from San to Indiana so he was happy his problem was fixed and he said he would buy another Nova from coachmen.i have seen some videos of Rick with other you tuber and he was very nice and tried explains why he did things this way because another consumer suggest it and it's a good idea so he put the change in the next generation of new RV from the video I think he really cares about his product and his customers and tries to listen to them for improvement
Thank you. We did get our van back finally and we are going through it very carefully to make sure all issues have been addressed appropriately. New videos with updates are forthcoming.

So I've had my Boldt almost a year and I'm literally facing the situation that my warranty is about to expire without any resolution of problems that have been outstanding for the entire year (such as no working air conditioning)! Hope it goes OK for you. Thanks for your efforts.
I’m so sorry to hear about your issues on your rig. We started a campaign for legislation that will hold the RV companies responsible for the garbage they are pushing out the door. I'm so sorry this has happened to you, it's just so wrong and frustrating. I found your videos because I just purchased a 2014 Sportsmobile E350 4x4 and was looking for others who had similar vehicles. I was curious why you were selling it and after watching this video I’ve found we've been on opposite journeys. We started with a 2016 Roadtrek built on a Ram promaster. Our hope was to travel to Alaska in it the following summer. We took a two week trip to test it out and on the way back my husband said - there’s no way we’re going to Alaska in this thing. So, returning from that trip we stopped in Fresno at Sportsmobile West and immediately knew that their builds would work for us. We arrived home literally with duct tape holding drawers closed and trim in place. The electric awning didn’t work at all, sensors for the tanks stopped working and there was a list of stuff to get fixed under warranty. Nothing comparable to the major problem you have had, but still just totally unacceptable for a new product. I did a lot of research and most people loved these vehicles, but did have problems with the warranty work. Trying to get the warranty work done was a nightmare, there were no appointments and things weren’t fixed property. We sold it 4 months after we got it, luckily we got a good deal on it and didn’t lose too much money. We put in an order for a new Sprinter Sportsmobile 170”wb 4x4 but the lead time was 16 months. I found a used Sprinter Sportsmobile 170’wb model with a funky floor plan at a good price and we took our first trip to Alaska in that van, it was fantastic, while not a perfect floor plan or great finishes it was super solid and the Sprinter chassis was a big improvement. We sold it when our Sprinter was completed (made a profit!). We worked with Agile Offroad to upgrade the suspension on our new Sprinter, we found the factory suspension unacceptable. I’m curious if you will have a similar feeling after having driven the Sportsmobile E350. We drove that van for 4 years, living it for 6-8 weeks each summer and now that our son is older and does not want to camp with us we thought we’d downsize and try out an E350 pop-top for a while. I’m hoping to have Field Van (formerly Sportsmobile West) do a light remodel on the interior. I’ve loved working with them. While I didn’t have as horrific an experience as you have had with the RV industry I had enough of a taste to lose trust in their products and not want to deal with any larger RV brands or products ever again. I hope you make progress getting Winnebago to make it right! There seems to be a lot of people who use their vehicles occasionally and are happy with Winnebago and other RV companies. It is likely you will not have a hard time selling it if you have to.
You guys have been through quite the journey as well. We loved our Sportsmobile and really had a hard time letting it go. I knew coming into the Mercedes platform was going to be a challenge compared to the power of the Ford E350 but a bunch of other factors had played into our decision. We do have plans to upgrade the Sprinter so stay tuned for that. As far as the interior build, we’ll the jury is still out. I will going through everything I can to reduce rattle, vibration, and shakiness as much as I can. Nothing is perfect right out the door I’m finding so I reckon I just have to dial this puppy in. Thanks for watching our channel and we hope you continue to follow our adventure. One way or another we will be on the road by September.
Thank you. We are getting the van back and it should be road ready. We really liked the Boldt concept and the BL layout so we are praying the major issues will be fixed and we can move on. Thanks for following our channel and be sure to catch our future vlogs as we have plans for up-grading this puppy after the service issues are fixed.
I too have moved from CA to Prescott and am just thinking about an RV lifestyle. Good luck and safe travels.

Look at Coachman.
Sounds like the dealer and manufacturers have worked with you, don’t really get the victim mindset
