  • More than a billion people are living with obesity around the world, global estimates published in The Lancet show. This includes about 880 million adults and 159 million children, according to 2022 data.
    The highest rates are in Tonga and American Samoa for women, and American Samoa and Nauru for men, with some 70-80% of adults living with obesity.
    Out of 200 countries and territories, the UK ranks 55th highest for men and 87th for women.
    The international team of scientists say there is an urgent need for major changes in how obesity is tackled.

      The teachers ,themselves eat these crappy things,so they expect children to follow the same, because nowadays peoples mentality has changed,what he doesn’t eat or possess,they don’t want others to eat and possess. It’s more of a mindset of people who don’t care for the welfare of others,there are no shining examples to lead you to lead a better life.

    Genetically modified,engineered foods, sugar, dyes, unhealthy oils(ie: palm oil, canola oil) for starters. It’s about big business and money. Seeing obese children makes me cry. Cmon parents! • @PSA78
      @PSA78 7 месяцев назад +2

      I trippel dare you to find research to support those claims. Let's take a couple of examples, the consumption of refined carbs have been going down since around the millennia and is down to the level of the early 80's, while obesity and T2D have gone up at the exact same rate. We have been using GMO for millennias, it doesn't impact energy density negatively (and half the stuff labelled as non GMO doesn't even exist in GMO, it's a buzzword sold through fear mongering). Out of the hundreds of studies done on seed oils they are either neutral or positive in health, saturated and transfat never show good outcome and in a calorie surplus create 6 times more fat in the liver compared to fructose. It's also cheaper to make food from scratch, first order principle still applies, being poor matters but not in that way.
      But yes, highly palatable and low satiating food that's high in calories, like really ultra processed food, is easy to overconsume.

      @@PSA78 You oversimplified. Who did the “hundreds of studies on seed oils”? I should ask which corporations. Your data is quite skewed. Why are manufacturers required to show whether or not GMOs are present in the food they produce? Some cleverly avoid the consumer info by posting it on a small scan label. It takes time to find out if not printed on the label. We vastly differ and that’s perfectly fine. I’ll stick with my facts and you yours. Some of the real proof is in the contents of the shopping carts of obese people. I respect your opinion and your right to have one openly.

    I have a question. Or maybe a remark, I don't really know how to call it. Do you believe we live in a physically dangerous world? Like... What's the danger for an adult to get his ass kicked by some other human being? And being heavier makes that danger less likely to happen? Because I tend to walk a lot outside and I always see people that look like they might have some devious ideas in their heads. A few times I actually got assaulted. And to be honest, I don't see my weight as a problem in that case. I see it rather as a deterrent. As in: dude, look at me! Think again! I might not be the person you want to have a fight with. It's true that I get called fat, but on the other hand I look at other people, and think to myself... Well... 4 of them. 1 of me. How much do those people weigh? About 70-80 each. I'm 140. Oh well... I'm not sure they can take me down. I can probably play it cool and there will be no problems. I'm not sure I could do that if I weighted just 80 kg. So, assuming I were to lose weight, how would I handle these situations? Running? What if I'm with someone else. Like a woman. Should I just run and let her get raped or something? I really don't know. Not the part in which I would let the women I'm with getting raped, but rather this whole obesity thing. And also, it's unclear to me how adults relate to these situations. As a kid I remember having physical engagements rather often. Not serious one, but I do remember getting robbed by older people. I haven't got robbed in many years. Ever since I became an adult. And it is true, in the times I had more friends and I hanged out with more people, I was thinner. Now I'm bulked. But I'm thinking... shouldn't I be bulked if I enjoy walking alone at 11 PM? I spent some time studying gang affiliated tattoos and prison related tattoos. And as soon as I leave the house I simply see them. Should I be worried about that or those people are saints and never engage in physical aggression? And some medics told me I should lose weight. Do you think they ever considered the possibility that my weigh protects me from physical violence?

    Why is the comments section available on this video but the BBC turned it off on their video 11 hours ago about mail order poison?
    Was that so nobody could highlight the BS & blatant staging in the mail order video?

    • @andrewjones-productions
      @andrewjones-productions 7 месяцев назад

      Initially, comments were allowed. There were people in the comments section that suggested that the comments section be turned off. It makes sense as there was a danger that someone would share information pertaining to the website featured in the item. Also, there were some comments section that were bordering on advocating the availability of the poison for those that were terminally ill or quality of life was so low that they had a 'way out'. This is dangerous territory of course as those who are physically healthy but emotionally distressed may be encouraged in the wrong way by some of the comments. I think that they were wise to turn off the comments for that video.

      So much of the reason for not finding real food palatable after a diet of junk is twofold: expense and addictive ingredients. Sugar and salt to name two. Refined sugar is 8 times more addictive than heroin. Let that marinate in your brain. As far as expense, fruit, salad items, healthy food will cost slightly more than a Big Mac. Go off the junk for one month. Eat only real food. You’ll take one bite of that (gonna-make-you obese) Mac and you’ll spit it out. Of course, depending upon the length of time of your addictions will determine your rehabilitation length. Eat well. Be well. Be happy.
