- The sound of my 2008 Audi S6 5.2 V10 after installing QTP oval exhaust cutouts after the first resonators. All audio recorded at a fixed gain to accurately depict the volume difference.

Hi, the car sounds great. I know this is an old video, but I would be grateful for your assistance. I have an S8 D3 V10 for the past few years and have been looking for a solution to the quiet stock exhaust. This system looks perfect. Perhaps you might answer a few quick questions...
(1) Do you think after a while it was too loud after a period?
(2) What system did you use?
(4) is it difficult to install? (installed after the resonators and before the mufflers?)
(5) Any problems with MOT?
(6) Does the system leak while closed?
(7) Any other problems/regrets with it?

Hi, the exhaust with the cut outs open is extremely loud. I never kept it open particularly long because of this. It's much louder than a comparable performance exhaust. I used the QTP low profile oval exhaust cut outs, installed after the front resonators. I had an exhaust shop install them for $200. No problems with inspection, but around here they are pretty relaxed. No leaking while closed, sounds like stock. No other problems really. A real head-turner when they're open.

Hello, I'm looking at getting a S6 and was wondering how the reliability and matinence has been for you if you don't mind me asking? thanks
Jake R the reliability rly isn’t that good. They’re prone to oil leaks, and mine got one as well. I was quoted 15k to fix it so I just sold it. They can be hit or miss but if u find one that’s low mileage and has a clean record I’d go for it. Just take rly good care of it and don’t drive it like a hooligan.
The 5.2 V10 motors are actually very reliable, and nearly bulletproof. The main issue they have is heat soak, from being such a large motor in a smaller engine bay. The most common issue is the intake manifold malfunctioning, which happens to select few, usually in warmer climates. The other common issue is carbon deposits, which build up more with non aggressive driving and need to be cleaned every 30k. So driving like a hooligan is actually the better thing to do from time to time, to burn off the carbon deposits from the direct injection. An oil leak was the issue on yours? And $15k to fix? I would have checked into other mechanics for different quotes. For someone that is fairly mechanical with DIYs, this is a fairly straightforward car to work on. Which means maintenance isnt bad if you are not paying for the labor

I have a 2011 S6 and I love it. I have a small oil leak on the driver's side rear and also a hi pitch whistle presumably PCV. Could oil be from same PCV leak?
@@simonwilkinson825 unlikely to be related to he PCV, but an audi shop (don't go to the dealer) should be able to diagnose. I had to have the engine dropped on mine because of camshaft covers leaking.
