Today is June 29, 2023 and if you happen to live in Ontario, Canada you have been experiencing the massive amounts of smoke in the air this month from the forest fires in Quebec and Northern Ontario travelling and lingering all over our province this month. Please be sure to CLEAN YOUR AIR FILTERS on your Air Exchange Unit, or replace them if you can't clean them. If you happen to live in say a High Rise apartment building you're kind of at the mercy of the buildings maintenance personnel for this. Hopefully they will change or clean the filters in your building once all this smoke clears. If you have home-type air purifiers, you might want to clean or change those more often to clear any of them of any gases, ash, or dust they've filtered out of the air for you. PEACE to all and a big thank you to @ThorRepairs for providing us with this extremely helpful video

BOOM. Amazing, my exact air exchanger. Getting it cleaned up today after what appears to be years of neglect (bought house 2 years ago). Subscribed. Thanks!

Additionally, I was able to take that vent door off my unit and clean out the filter, as it was pretty caked. Without you having to reassemble yours I probably wouldn’t have been able to navigate taking it off to clean it. Thanks again.

i've a question... why the tube have some black or brown residue... and do i need to replace them ?!

It’s just from some water that sits in the tube usually only during the winter. It’s just drain tubes so doesn’t need replacement.

Hi Thor, how do I turn the vanee system back on after the clean up? Putting the digital control pad to “ON “ doesn’t seem to do the job.

Once the Vanee is shut it pushes a switch so it can be powered on again from the control pad. There is a lot of different versions of these control pads but the “on” button should work. Sometimes you have to wait for it to kick on and also make sure the vanee is shut properly after cleaning.

How many times do I need to clean the filters? Some say every 6 months others say once a year.

I try to once a year. That’s probably not what it recommends though. Thanks for watching the video.

Thor repair do you happen to know how I can prevent mosquitos from getting into this system from outside ?

I had the same problem. I think some people put a bug screen over the intake to prevent the bugs from coming in.
