Community Canvas Build

I got another great commission for a local community organization @la84foundation for their Day of Play event. I made a large 9 foot by 3 foot canvas with wooden supports that the community would help paint. The art was designed by my awesome neighbor/artist/design @whitneyalix
Of course mid making this project my jointer/planer died so I had to get a little creative when flattening the 2x4's. I ended up borrowing my old jointer from another great neighbor/landscape designer/native plant fanatic @hello_yarrow
Where did I get the commission from? Shockingly, another neighbor in the community. Thank you @lucasrivera247 for thinking of me!
It turns out when you build a great community, everyone benefits! I can't wait for the next project!
PS: Don't worry, the delivery was only a block away so Andy didn't have to hold it in the back of the pickup truck for long!

Could just use hollow core door, easy to find free and much lighter weight but still sturdy.

I like that idea! This time the MDO was specified by the client and it was required to have no seams. I'm not sure if a door is 9 feet long either.
