1:37 wtf happens here? I don't see what caused the car's hood to pop up then fly off, but the people seem to react beforehand as though they see it coming.
I also would like to know what's going on. It just seems to pop off for no apparent reason.

Only reason I'm here
I came in the comment for the same reason and went back to look at it a couple of time again. The only explanation I came up with is very intense wind at the intersection. Prior to the accident you can see flying debri and when the car get's hit by the wind it is so intense that the hood fly back.

That was in my city-Calgary, Canada.
Yes and no. I would give her credit for not hitting anything, but driving too fast for the conditions was a fail.
That was a double fail, and a very lucky recovery. They were both going way too fast for those road conditions, Luckilly they both had luck on thier side.

Texans? Forget it. Just a little ice is all it takes for the near-fatal demolition derby to begin on the freeways. No snow. All we get is some ice on the roads 2 or 3 weeks every winter 💜✌

As a father who has failed amazingly quite a few times, I feel for that man who allowed his daughter to ‘draw’ on his wife’s car. I could tell by the tone and inflection in her voice that he was in life threatening danger.
Been there done that! She let me live... lol
I love how it is ‘her’ car, but when it comes to fixing it (and likely making all the payments too) he’s the guy that has to do it. I also noticed how she wasn’t out there helping to fix ‘her’ car nor watching’her’ daughter either.

the part that gets me is if hes working on the car shouldnt she be watching the kids? Working on a car is dangerous enough having to make sure it is properly lifted and wheel chocked so it wont move and even then sometimes that fails. So now hes supposed to worry about all of that and keeping his kid entertained? I think he did a fine job watching her!
As a mother, I would be TOTALLY pissed at the husband because he obviously wasn't watching her, plus it's going to cost them a paint job with money they might not have! She shouldn't have been telling the little girl that it was beautiful either while she's standing there with the screwdriver in her hand thinking it's okay to do that.

Last day of the year in Georgia, with temps in the 70's & rain. Where is the Winter? Snow? Happy New Year to all & be safe.
For those folks that don't know, getting stuck by a catfish is actually SUPER painful and because of the slime they're covered in, the puncture is guaranteed to get infected and swell up tremendously. I do not recommend it

I can't figure out how people who live where it snows can't figure out that it is slippery. It's like some kind of Darwin challenge.
If you're asking this question, you don't live where it snows.
Shovel and sweep the steps. It drizzles. Drizzle freezes into a thin clear slippery coating. Everything looks OK. You step out the door. Suddenly you're half way to the mailbox.

@@jfan4reva I live where there is snow in winter. I adjust my life accordingly when there is snow and ice. I have no problems either on the road or on my feet. It's easy.
@@jfan4reva I was in Fort Worth, Texas in January-February 2015...there was snow and ice I wasn't prepared for at all. I found that stocking feet did a great job of not slipping on the ice! Cold, wet feet, but I didn't slip or fall!
Some people have to relearn it every year. First major storm of the year there will be hundreds of cars in the ditch, by the last one nary a one. Also note the splendid job the driver of the car did to avoid contact with both the truck and the bus shelter.
@@jfan4reva I live in Idaho where it snows quite a bit and really all it comes down to is a good pair of boots. Most of the vids are of outstanding citizens wearing a normal pair of sneakers, or shoes and that's just not gonna cut it.

That snowboarding clip at the beginning reminded me of the first and last time I tried to jump a ramp while boarding. I cratered the exact same way, my neck hurt for a week.

I'm questioning that too, I replayed it many times and slowed it down but I can only think of heavy wind but still doesn't make sense and it doesn't look windy also their window got cracked inwards

then the car appears and the complete bonnet flies off
I think there are a few seconds missing
why did they scream that way... don´t think they saw much more than the cam did
there´s a wire that goes up into the air together with the hood

a power cable sounds reasonable.... 1:39 there is nothing there that I can see but the hood does crumple like something got stuck there

I've seen more accidents in that roundabout than we get on average here per year
I've seen that Milwaukee roundabout in bad driving videos, too. It's not so small that it should startle incoming drivers, plus it's well-lit at night. If I lived in Milwaukee I'd know the reason, but I don't understand why there's so many accidents
Are there no road signs indicating a roundabout is ahead? Maybe the speed limit on approach should be lowered? Perhaps the quality of the average local driver needs improvement. I just dont get it! 🤷

@@magnificentmuttley154 yeah I've seen it so much aswell. It has deeper roots than we know and think. Alot of it has to do with whos learning them to drive. Their parents or someone actually qualified for it. Here you undergo 3 months school/ wet/dry surface and at ur test. You got an instructor + a cop rides in backseat and makes sure you don't fuck up. 3 fairly mistakes and ur driver test is failed. So it takes alot for actually passing

I remember when i was delivering food on a bike during the summer. I rode on the road, was doing like 35 km/h and a lady in her 50s suddenly without any looking whatsoever decides to walk across the street...I stopped quite a bit away from her. She turned left, jumped a bit back and looked at me like I was at fault, touches her chest with her hand and says "Oh my god".
Yeah oh my god, what a dumbass was I for not grabbing the bike and smashing your head with it....
