I like how honest you are about how you pay for all the bikes and the bits, puts it in real world terms for the rest of us rather than making out its some dark kept secret, great vid mate look forward to seeing the Bike 👍
Oh Chops! Feeling for you bud. Most of us have been there. For those who haven't, don't judge until you've experienced it. Can't change the past, look forward fella. Summer is here!
We've all done it or something similar. All jokes aside it must be heart-breaking. Dropped a brand new, day 1, Ninja 650 3 years ago. I'll never forget the sick feeling in my guts when it happened. Wishing you all the best.
Back in 1998 I dropped my new TL1000R off the axle stand in the garage and dented the tank, gutted at the time so I know the feeling, lucky I sold the bike with the dent for a bit knocked off for the next owner.
F1 btw . Sorry to hear about the drama. Now the bike just looks specced up. Tank looks great, I can’t see anything mark wise on the new tank. £600 is a steal. I agree with you about running it in, nobody wants a damaged ring. Try to put it behind you and enjoy that stunning bike!
I dropped my brand new Triumph Speed Triple R 2016. It's the first decent bike I've ever had and I was devastated! Luckily it landed mostly on grass and sustained practically no damage, but the feeling of guilt and embarrassment was overwhelming. LCR you're a CHAMPION for speaking so open and honestly about this; it's precisely why we love and support you! You'll get this all fixed and you can forget all about it.
"Man and his problems", my father's favorite saying. You have a good attitude and took the dent like a man! I would get the original tank repaired with filler and then paint it gloss black. Ride safe Kawi brother and greetings from the U.S.A.
Break-in; It's the heat from friction that is the problem when the parts are not properly mated yet, particularly the piston rings. Under hard acceleration cylinder pressures are high so the piston rings are really pushed into the cylinder walls and large amounts of heat is generated which can/will lead to galling...
Ari done a pretty scientific vid about running in brand new bikes you should watch it. Even knowing that when I had a brand new bike I did it by the book. Total sympathy for that sick feeling. Been there. I wasn't right with the entire bike when I dropped my 650 brand new. I didn't even get on it for 4 days after. I wasn't really right until a new fairing had been put on the left side and it was back to brand new again.
Yup, never dropped a bike in my life until last week. My mt10 fell off of the side stand cos of my own stupidity and gravel. Luckily R&G frame and engine sliders ate ALL the damage. Mt10 is no H2 but I think I don't have to tell you how relieved I was. Hope you fix it soon!
Sometimes we think we need a comfy bike because ...... well it’s comfy. But the. As we ride it we think “this is boring as hell” lol. I had a few custom bikes and an AFRICA Twin. Nothing wrong with any of them. But is was so happy a month ago to be back on a sports bike as well. It puts a smile on my face even when I start the thing. Do what makes you happy Sir. Don’t follow sheep. ( or market trends). As long as you can pay bills and put food on the table. Enjoy life. You can’t take money with you on departure lol.
The way you’re talking about running it in is pretty much how I did my 2017 Kawasaki Z900. Took it easy for the first hundred or so miles, after that I used it as I normally would without revving more the 2/3 of the way through the range and no pinning the throttle. Once I’d done the first service at a little over 600 miles, I just rode it however I wanted. Now at nearly 11,000 miles and purring like a kitten 👍
Robz Z900 I do like those z9’s, took a look at the RS and the cafe’s over the weekend and I’m dead for my first green bike. Great to hear you’re having good luck with your bike!
C. Henderson great bikes I think, obviously they’re very basic, with the only rider aid being ABS, but loads of fun. Sorry to hear about the drop! My thinking is its a blessing. Now its "broken in" so you can ride it and enjoy it as it was meant to be ridden. Yes its gorgeous but its a sport tourer with emphasis on the sport. I say be glad the initial ding / dent is behind you and enjoy it to its fullest - worry free :)
Tank looks great 👍 Had a slow motion drop backing up the other day! 2 Police officers (about 17years old) rush to help this silly old bugger kicking his bike in frustration! 1st time I've seen policemen laughing so much had tears in their eyes 😂 Thanks for help guys, sorry for the language 👍👍👍
That’s absolutely heartbreaking. I dropped my XSR the first week I had it, rolled clean off the stand whilst I was walking into the petrol station. Lost the left hand mirror and the clutch lever. Got our lucky over all but I cried inside
Only the manufacturers opinion matters for break in. And by the book is not soft, just normal. If it blows up and they find out it will make a tank replacement seem like nothing at all if you have to buy a whole new engine for it. Ignore the pub experts. Listen to the guys who made the damn thing:)
I took my 600 yamaha to have new chain and sprockets fitted and they dropped it off the lift. They didn't tell me and I didn't notice the damage till I got home. When I went back they denied any knowledge of it. Tank was damaged and the colour of the paint matched the red colour of their lift. I now have a Tracer 2015 and very happy. Just saying this because I know the feeling and learned a valuable lesson to check EVERY inch of any vehicle I take to any garage. I even video the vehicle before I leave on gopro and needless to say I never took anything to them again. They are local and I have since been informed that a guy who often pops round there for a chat and coffee caused the damage. Sorry for the long post and I feel gutted for you. Still a great bike and as a side note you may as well remove the warning stickers with a hammer and chisel.
After about 100 miles, I would change the oil, then follow the breakin schedule with spirited bursts up to the specified rpm (nothing full throttle). The reason for the very early oil change is that I believe that if there were any burrs left over from the machining of the engine parts, they would most likely be taken off in the first hundred or so miles and I just want to get the oil out. Some will say that the oil filter will catch it all, others will say that the motor has a run in period in the factory before it is shipped, but for my own piece of mind....it’s only 4-5 quarts of oil.
Sorry about the drop man :( As for the break-in I believe in the "middle of the road" method, not pampering it but also not absolutely caning it, just ride it and rev it as you would normally while being mindful not to go too crazy and most importantly not to lug it or do full load pulls from low revs.
Hey that carbon tank looks great, just adds a bit of custom character to the bike. I know that's an EXPENSIVE bike but as a frequent rider it's going to get little rock chips here and there so don't worry too much! It's just the life of a bike!
That's a shame LCR, but it's all fixable. A mate of mine, many years ago, rode his brand new CBR 600RR from the dealer to the nearest petrol station and dropped it on the forecourt. He'd done less than 2 miles on it. These things can be repaired.
Oh dear, the hard vs soft break in lol, the thing most people don't realise is that their bike or car should have break-in oil put in it at factory or at the dealer when prepping the bike for sale. It's thinner than the usual oil that bike or car takes, so you must take it easy, the oil is used for that reason too, to be easier on piston rings, shell bearings and such while they bed in. Or change it and do a hard run-in if you like, I can't see it having any benefit either way as it's not changing the compression ratio of the pistons is it lol. But hard break-in will put more pressure on components, so you could snap piston rings, not worth the risk unless you have all the money in the world. Gutted about the bike mate, I'd still be crying, could have been worse I guess.
Not sure for all bikes but every BMW s1000rr is put on a dyno and redlined and they reset the dash and sell it so honestly you don’t hear to many things about break in horror stories with newer machines anymore but I’m sure there still are some
I feel your pain mate. I bought a brand new 2019 CB1000R and just as I rode it off the show room floor, turned right onto a busy road and bike slipped out from underneath me!!! The bike literally had 100 feet on the clock before coming off. I was taking it very easy but the tyres were still oily and assume there was also show room tyre shine on it. Now I have a scratched exhaust and a skinned clutch cover. Going to leave it and will repair it before eventually selling it. But very gutted!!!
It happens to us all at least once. I did something similar with my 09 ER6N the day after I bought it. the new tank does fit it well. also take it easy on the break in. I have 200 miles to go before i take my SMC R to mode 2.
2 months ago I sprayed my bike from yellow to black I got tank fairings all sprayed I was awaiting my front wheel to come back from powdercoater I have my bike under a rain cover and I heard a huge bang from indoors I new instantly my bike fell over so I stood it up and took cover off and my heart sank then it come back as all I broke was the bar end mirror no scratches no dents nothing... I was so lucky but know how ya feel. I know my bikes not as nice or expensive as yours but the feeling is still same when it falls over.
Dropped my first new bike first night I bought it. Left it outside mate's house, where I'd gone to show it off, came out a few hours later and it was lying on its side. I'd parked it too close to upright on sidestand parallel to kerb on cambered road and the wind must have toppled it over, what a plum. Quite a few annoying scuffs, exhaust, bar end, side panel etc - was so gutted and embarrassed.
No engine needs a run in...Its just a clause company's use so they can sell with a warranty..If you intend on keeping the vehicle for ever, and want the motor to last as it can, then yeah be careful...But otherwise Cain it...doesn't hurt the engine at all!!
Oh dear! Bit of a shame but it's only a bike. If a scratched bike is your main worry in life then things aren't too bad. Anyway, the new tank looks better. :-)
Oh Boy! After watching the video where you were so excited to have an H2 and all that went with it. I know the feeling. Been there. Not with a brand new H2 but I completely understand. Wow!!!!!!
Awful feeling, ooh man that hurts. But the new tank looks great and you certainly had good fortune in being able to get that! Maybe some bubble wrap next time it goes on the stand :-) Safe travels LCR.
Brand new VFR800.. First time I'd washed it - about 1 week into ownership - I dropped it when pushing it off the centre-stand by slipping on the soap suds! Arrgggghhhhhh!!!! Lesson: never wash your bikes. :)
I took it gentle for the first 200 miles then gradually worked it up the rev range. Didn't seem to do it any harm but as you say, who knows for sure. What a gorgeous machine, i hope the remap sorts the choppy throttle as it's such an amazing bike to have in your garage.
New tank looks better IMO, Life is to short for 1000mile running in. 200miles and loads of heat cycles on the engine rings done ✅ 600 mile oil change full power...
MarJay1980 nope all been fully tested in the factory. They are span up way way past operating speeds to fully balance the blades. After visiting the Ducati factory I won’t ever wait till 621miles (1000km) to keep under a certain rpm limit they are all maxed out in the red and held for some time in house before being fitted to the bike.
FireTwo yep, else Kawasaki wouldn’t recommend it. Most bikes you keep below a set revs for 600 miles. This is 4000 revs for 600 miles and 6000 revs for another 400... I expect there is a special reason for that else it would have the standard run in period. Nobody I’ve seen has shown any solid evidence that hard break in is good for the longevity of the motor, nor that the bike makes any more than 1 or 2 bhp more than a normal break in which is well within the tolerance of the engine. The manufacturer who knows the most about the bike recommends a break in procedure, so what makes you think they would lie?
NOOOOOOooooooo........... Gutted for you mate. Somebody else dropped my €4000 bike and I nearly cried. I'd have been on the phone to Samaritans in your situation. I could point you in the direction of some chap I know that covered his dented tank in Carbon vinyl! ;D I guessed €3000 for the tank, but only because a new tank for my old grandad era bike is still a grand!
Sorry to hear that, it happens to the best of us one time in our lives. I have had few now and just yesterday a driver pulled in front of my Speed Triple RS 2019 at the last second, result is a lot of damage and my leg pains. Lucky I have it on cam.
Bloody hell chops, thats enough to break a mans heart, but at least you didn't throw it down the road as the caption implied....no doubt when it first happened you'd feel like you'd wrecked it. Lucky score on the replacement tank though.
Bad luck old chap, we've all done it, well I have at least. That bike is beautiful, the dark emerald green that comes through in certain angles and light. Your lucky to have one think of it that way. Run it in the way Kawasaki tell you to, the tolerances must be much finer on that machine if that is their recommended run in schedule, follow it to the letter. The engineers at Kawasaki know better than any knob telling you otherwise on RUclips. Have fun.
Motorcyclist magazine done a test on motorcycle engine break in, they made 2 exact engines, run one in as per manufacturer recommendations and the other bouncing off the limiter and there was no noticeable difference between the 2 afterwards.
Paintless dent repairer can massage that dent out from the inside so it wont need filler. You'll be surprised. Don't let anyone take a hammer to it Chops.
I don't ride a bike, I don't own a bike, heck I don't even know how to ride a bike. But I offer you some moral support and a bro hug. No man should go through this
Hi mate, congrats on h2 ownership, hands down the best bike I have ever owned. Sorry to here you dropped her I have dropped mine twice so I share your pain had to replace the rear panel. Wish you many happy miles on her. Fuel consumption isnt thst bad even after mapping it's better than my rsv4 was 😂 I love the look of the carbon tank I wouldn't change it spend your money on full system, air filtter and map !
@@LambChopRides yeah stupidity on my part first time tiny chip on bottom of side fairing I got lucky that time lol. Second time stand wasnt down properly and it fell over damaged rear cowl. I found a used one on Ebay £165 so not to bad.
Don’t feel bad mate. I know it’s two years on now but at least you could enjoy the bike without feeling bad If you got any more knicks or stone chips, etc. still a gorgeous bike! I had a new bike and within a few months I hit a pothole so bad that it caused a permanent vibration that was impossible to track down. Frame, engine, steering…you name it, it was all within spec so I’m guessing it may have broken something inside the engine or trans. Anyways, ended up selling it because I just couldn’t live with it. Imagine the worst handlebar buzz x10 that doesn’t go away. Enjoy your bike man, better to have some cosmetic stuff than mechanical gremlins you can’t get rid of!
Re: The break in period.... My new bike's owners manual doesn't even list any break in period, just the first service. Been told the usual by wizzards, but I guess the gneral rule is as you said. The first few hundred miles, take it easy and then wind it up a bit until it's first service.
No way man. At least you got it all sorted, new tank looks the goods. Take it easy on breakin but not too easy😉 Glad you bought the GSXR, will be awesome fun at the track. Take care no more whoopsies!👍
I would have had a wrap instead of a new tank? Treat it like a 2stroke don’t thrash it or put it under load just keep it spinning and gradually increase the revs as the miles rack up.👍🏻
Man, totally gutted for you. 2 grand for a tank, Jeeze O. I think the new tank for 600 quid is ok it doesn't detract from the overall. Not sure what that Mclaren was but I do have more than 30 stored in my barn!!!!!!! I think you way of running in is ideal. First 200 miles below 4000rpm, then can rev ''occasionally'' up to 7000rpm for a clear out.
you can quicken the "turn in" by dropping the forks through the yokes by 5mm. I did this to my Aprilia Tuono and the handling went from excellent to telepathic! xx
We've all done it, I binned my GPz900 a week after finishing a full restoration. New tank looks good, fair play to Wheel's Motorcycles coming up with a replacement for a decent price.
Had a crash last monday on my KTM only 6 months old. It was a small crash I searched a bit and came across your video. Dropping your precious new bike is very bad. I am going to get everything fixed some scratches on the exhaust and a bit on the side frame. And other things mirror and brake lever. Luckily after a couple of years your bike is still alright.
I dropped my brand new Aprilia Tuono v4 first day I ride it. But was more lucky, only minor scratch on one indicator. I was so excised to get it, so missed to put down the stand before jumping of, will never forget that horrible feeling when it happened. Happy you got a new tank. Looks dope
If its any consolation to you Chops....my Victory tipped over on the lift(with its wheels off 8-0) last week. It was the first time anything like this ever happened too me also :-( Luckily the bike was strapped to the lift and landed on the fork ends instead of its side. I have plugs in the fork ends that covers attach too, they took the impact of the fall, so no damage was done to the bike..
The new tank looks absolutely bang on. Better than the original in my opinion. Love the way the pinstripes go all the way along the bike. Blessing in disguise maybe?
Bad news LCR but if that's your bit of bad luck take it on the chin. Like your pragmatic attitude. Run it in by the book it'll be better for the motor.
Feel your pain! Glad you got a cheaper fix. Years ago I dropped a brand new Bandit 1200S on my sloping drive after collecting from the showroom. Smashed the front fairing 🙄
"by the book" also means that you're an obstacle in traffic, no fun at all. The most important thing is, that the engine is warm. Then you can go 3/4 throttle and 3/4 RPM without damaging anything. Running in by the book is overrated and overly cautious. I can say that, because I work on motorcycle engines almost every day on a professional basis. Some bikes with short gearing are reaching less than 60mph in the tallest gear, if you're reving the engine by the book. I'd never ride around like that, that's for sure.
Chops if you're going to own one you're going to drop it sooner or later, all you can do is fix it and keep riding. It doesn't change the need to feel the freedom... the reason for owning a great bike!
OMG I saw the video where you had bought this and you were so thrilled, I'm devastated for you what a kick :'( lets see if the view count is so massive that is assists in the repair costs!
So, I do know the feeling. I have a fully carbon fiber modified V4S Ducati that I actually won from a builder named Jaret Campisi. And the modifications included a carbon fiber kick stand that broke! I was gutted, and have only just now got it back. Luckily all my damage was to bolts and screws etc.....moral of the story is NEVER again a carbon fiber kick stand. But I feel your pain brother.
I would consider repairing the old tank and then having it transfer dipped to keep or sell and recoup some of the £600, you won’t be the last to damage a tank on the H2. Good luck, keep the vids coming 👍
The bike looks better with that tank on👍 I dropped a 848 evo se ones and did two and half worth of damage but I use the insurance to get it fixed cos at the end of the day that’s what you pay the money for and didn’t affect my premiums for the next year
Once you get that bike broke in and you really give it the beans and hear that supercharger whistle, you will have forgot all about that mishap you had in the garage!
I prefer the replacement tank over the original, it looks a lot better, especially with the matching pinstripe, and the matt-gloss contrast, you touched lucky there, although it did cost you £600! I wouldn't bother getting the other tank repaired, just put a £2,000 sticker on it, and hang it on the wall!
the new tank is nice- sorry to hear of the "drop" The guy who rejected that tank certainly inspected the bike far better than I do - i would have never spotted that.
Honestly, I go away for a couple of weeks & you not only buy an H2 but you trash it, you loon! So I guess congratulations & commiserations are in order :P She's a real beauty Chops, happy safe travels mate.
I feel your pain bab! Dropping any bike's an absolute shitter: but a new H2? It sticks a CF Top Hat on the whole lamentable experience! Thankfully you got sorted out with a semi-affordable, bling'd-up replacement (which looks great BTW). I guess at such times you/we need to be grateful for small mercies i.e. The bike didn't come off the stand when it was up stuck up in the air!! 😱
Gutted for you mate, horrible feeling especially when you can't blame anyone, at least wheels sorted you out. At least you don't have the precious feeling now and won't feel bad for abusing it a bit 😁
Oh man so sorry to see this mate ☹. Glad you didn't drop it on the road though. I'm shocked at the price of the tank. Lmao@Yoda. I think the new tank looks great.
Congratulations for the official gsxr :). And the rest, is one of these shit happens days. But at the end, 600 for the carbon tank is less pain 👍😎. I always do tank protection with a transparent film from detecto.de... Because scratches are always there from riding. BTW rode the B500 this week in Schwarzwald. What a massive road!! But a lot of tempo limits :(
Feel for you mate! New tank looks spot on! Could you look into getting the panels wrapped in a clear coat as long term it would give you great protection from minor damage 👍
Tank looks sooo good chops, what a machine. What a challenge to run in chops, try and be good as much as you can then give it some here and there I won't tell.😀
I dropped my BMW K1600GTL at a standstill and my foot slipped on some gravel. £3550 of damage. The frustrating thing is I had crashbars on order. The other thing was my Mrs was on the back after I said to her to get on and get used to it after her riding pillion on my other bikes for many years. All fixed now via insurance but now paranoid about dropping it again.
On my new CBR300R I changed the oil at 300, 800 then 1500 miles. It’s amazing all the metal fragments in it. I was riding it smooth also. I plan to go every 3,000 miles instead of 6k.
Exactly why I got rid of my classic/expensive bikes and bought a 1250 bandit,I felt so precious about them and rather than me owning them they owned me.
I did about 70% soft break in and 30% hard break in on my previous bikes (2013 R6 & 2015 Z1000SX) during their break in period. All perfect with no problem at all after that. Both were smooth and responsive without any issue for thousands of miles. I recommend everyone to stick with the manufacturer instructions for most of time and just a little bit of hard (not that hard onii-chan!) break in once in a while if you want to. But if you want to thrashing it around right from the start of your first ride is also fine. Both have pro's and con's. Watching these vids makes me want to ride again though currently it's inconvenient for me. Sold them bikes both near the end of last year since i got less and less time to ride because of job commitment and the birth of my 3rd daughter. God i miss riding so much... ~Sigh
I like how honest you are about how you pay for all the bikes and the bits, puts it in real world terms for the rest of us rather than making out its some dark kept secret, great vid mate look forward to seeing the Bike 👍
In my corrupted India, the price of that H2 tank can pave the road for the entire village. So, don't feel bad about it.
Oh Chops! Feeling for you bud. Most of us have been there. For those who haven't, don't judge until you've experienced it. Can't change the past, look forward fella. Summer is here!

Hehe yeah, for a few moments I thought I had got away with it. Then saw the dent! Even today I'm a little nervous when moving it around 😬
F1 btw . Sorry to hear about the drama. Now the bike just looks specced up. Tank looks great, I can’t see anything mark wise on the new tank. £600 is a steal. I agree with you about running it in, nobody wants a damaged ring. Try to put it behind you and enjoy that stunning bike!
Don t replace tank. You can ride harder now ! :) Just ride !
Exactly
Yeah fuck the scratch,.just dont give a fuck about that shit,.atleast you are ok and didnt broke anybone
I dropped my brand new Triumph Speed Triple R 2016. It's the first decent bike I've ever had and I was devastated! My heart sank when i saw the title of this video - so sorry for what happened and really pleased you’re ok. The carbon tank looks superb.
"Man and his problems", my father's favorite saying. You have a good attitude and took the dent like a man! I would get the original tank repaired with filler and then paint it gloss black. Ride safe Kawi brother and greetings from the U.S.A.

Dead keen lol
C. Henderson great bikes I think, obviously they’re very basic, with the only rider aid being ABS, but loads of fun. As an ICE-engineer, I can confirm that..
yeah given that there's also the supercharger that needs running in I'd be inclined to agree.
This was going to me comment as well... Kawasaki know how to run in the bike, if you are going to keep it forever follow what they say.
Sorry to hear about the drop! My thinking is its a blessing. Now its "broken in" so you can ride it and enjoy it as it was meant to be ridden. Running in: Always listen to what the manufacturer recommends and not your mates down the pub.

Sorry about the drop man :(
As for the break-in I believe in the "middle of the road" method, not pampering it but also not absolutely caning it, just ride it and rev it as you would normally while being mindful not to go too crazy and most importantly not to lug it or do full load pulls from low revs.
Did the same to my Daytona, just fell away from me while pushing out of garage. Happens to us all eventually
Can't wait for both the KTM reviews, especially the GT, and H2 SX!.
Brand new VFR800.. First time I'd washed it - about 1 week into ownership - I dropped it when pushing it off the centre-stand by slipping on the soap suds! Arrgggghhhhhh!!!!
Lesson: never wash your bikes. :)
Don’t worry about it, put it behind you, you still have a lovely bike and move on. I smashed up a 911C4 two days after buying it. You get over it!
I'd say that I was glad you were alright after the 'accident' - but clearly you are not. :)
PS how much did you get for that kidney you sold or was it a straight swap 🤔🤔👍👍👍
I took it gentle for the first 200 miles then gradually worked it up the rev range. Didn't seem to do it any harm but as you say, who knows for sure. What a gorgeous machine, i hope the remap sorts the choppy throttle as it's such an amazing bike to have in your garage.
Nevermind. Now your bike has character. Good luck and thanks for the great videos.......Sal : )
New tank looks better IMO,
Life is to short for 1000mile running in.
200miles and loads of heat cycles on the engine rings done ✅
600 mile oil change full power...
Have you considered that the supercharger might need something of special care seeing as it's not a common factor in most bike run in periods?
MarJay1980 nope all been fully tested in the factory. They are span up way way past operating speeds to fully balance the blades.
After visiting the Ducati factory I won’t ever wait till 621miles (1000km) to keep under a certain rpm limit they are all maxed out in the red and held for some time in house before being fitted to the bike.
@@FireTwo Ok then, can you explain why Kawasaki specify a 1000 mile break in? On an engine which can make 300bhp per litre? Is it not self evident?
MarJay1980 you run them in your way I’ll do mine tbh you think you that keeping it under 4K for 600miles help in any way?
How many times can I say you’re the best RUclipsr for us sport riding enthusiasts....I just love you man!
Thanks matey, oh no you have dropped yours twice?? How much was the rear panel out of interest as need one of those too!! haha
What a bummer! Glad you got it sorted. I agree with on following recommended break in on such a complex and expensive bike!
😳😳 oh no...sorry to hear your mishap 😢
At least you’ve got it sorted for way less than 2k 😳
you can quicken the "turn in" by dropping the forks through the yokes by 5mm.
My first thought was "I bet that tank is like 2g lol. Sorry you dropped it. Love your vids dude
That was my first guess ...crazy!
If it was my bike I would run it in by the book. The Workshop channel has already done a series of videos on this 🙀
Agreed 100%... after all, what would the manufacturer know about the engineering behind their product, right?
"by the book" also means that you're an obstacle in traffic, no fun at all. The most important thing is, that the engine is warm. Then you can go 3/4 throttle and 3/4 RPM without damaging anything.
Running in by the book is overrated and overly cautious.
I can say that, because I work on motorcycle engines almost every day on a professional basis.
Some bikes with short gearing are reaching less than 60mph in the tallest gear, if you're reving the engine by the book. I'd never ride around like that, that's for sure.
Chris#55 tallest?
You mean highest?
Is this some sort of well technically thing?
I feel the love you have for this bike, respect.
The bike looks better with that tank on👍 I dropped a 848 evo se ones and did two and half worth of damage but I use the insurance to get it fixed cos at the end of the day that’s what you pay the money for and didn’t affect my premiums for the next year
Ouch!!! I’d recommend break-in by the book. To give the engineers the respect they deserve. They know what they are talking about.
Very lucky! Not so bad and glad you solved that quick without having to sell an organ
At least the bike is broken in now so to speak.........takes the pressure off a bit. Still absolutely gorgeous
New GSA1250, dropped four days later on my own drive, I feel your pain, got away with scratched tank bars and rocker cover😢😢, £2000 is a joke!
Gutted for you mate, horrible feeling especially when you can't blame anyone, at least wheels sorted you out. At least you don't have the precious feeling now and won't feel bad for abusing it a bit 😁
The paint job on that looks great
Oh man so sorry to see this mate ☹.
Oh, sorry for your tank. I know It can be heartbreaking.
Fair play about been honest about the payments. Too many people live in debt to live a fake life. Love the content mr chops
Really sucks to hear that you dropped it but cool that you got it sorted
~Sigh
Ride it like you stole it, Chops! But keep it upright like you own it!
