Hi I was in Calcutta in June 2023. Stayed at the Kitchner's House in Fort William. Did two heritage walks. One with Calcutta Walks and other with Funonstreets. Went to the iconic eateries in Park Street. Left my soul there. ❤ Blessed are those who don't have to find any reason to be there. I think one lifetime is not enough to know this city. It has layers to it. I wish I could share my Facebook posts with you. I am a teacher and I show your videos to my students to make them fall in love with traveling.
Kolkata is like a food dish. Either you love it or hate it. There is nothing in between. I have stayed in few cities in India & been to many others for travel. Very few cities in India still preserve that essence wherein two timelines live together, one in past & one in future. Yes Kolkata is laid back & maybe lazy at times & definitely irritates for business people but then money cannot be the sole deciding factor to fall in love.
Wow.. suna to tha Calcutta ke baare mein.. but what a city.. and even rare to see a "Pen Hospital" not sure if anyone else has covered the place.. what a gem!! Fab work!!
This is my city...I have been leaving out of it for the last 14years ...but the charm of Kolkata and earge of coming back here has never been gone down. Despite a lot of not having and not growing Calcutta is standing out with her own identity.
Thanks for covering my city. Few additions to the facts: 1) Potato was a new vegetable which was introduced in India - hence, it was added to Biriyani 2) Roll was introduced as the British officers didn't want to use their hands for eating kebabs 3) Sandesh is a genre of sweets and not one sweets. Yes nolen gur is made from date palm molasses
Calcutta the city that brings only happiness and prosperity. A true city of Joy. We feel it when we visit there. So loveable and what a beautiful volg it is as always.
It reminds me of my life’s unforgettable moments of my daily hang outs in New Market, Lindsay Street, Park Street, Esplanade Area, Victoria Memorial with sumptuous food delicacies during my first posting in GSI next to Indian Museum in Chowringhee Road.
