You remember you had this shot of the closing sale of the antique shop in Park Street. Thanks for capturing it. I loved windows shoping there while strolling down the park street after a nice meel at Mocambo. About a month ago I went there again and saw this same sign up there. And I knew this was the I felt strangely attached to that place although I never talked to the shopkeeper or even bought anything there and now I knew it would soon turn into a hazzy memory like the Kolkata sky. But now that you have captured it in this one shot I can always come back to it. Thank you so much for preserving this memory for me.
A glorious city built by history...partly destroyed by the Brits because the capital got shifted ( 1911) and then the terrible partition( 1947) then Leftist led anti industry policies...34 years! Indeed it's almost become like a relic ...of course, it's very interesting in terms of heritage value...it can be revived...but requires political will...Glad u enjoyed my hometown's charms...cheers bro' ...fr Delhi
Kolkata is a city only. The vlogger is in the Old Kolkata area. That's why everything seems Old. The new part of the city i.e., Newtown Kolkata is modern.
@@matgranger5061 Ridiculous response. When these idiots go to Eastern Europe or Vietnam or Middle East - is this how they react to decades old history? And New Town? Are you serious??! Thats not Calcutta. Thats BS real estate. Yuck. Old Calcutta where million philosophers and Poets and Artists and Nobel Laureates have lived and flourished is not good enough of a city for bothe of you? Historical cities are supposed to be old. Its our own flavour - instead of taking pride you are telling him nonsense data ?
@@thetravelingzam It's towards the north part of the city around 17 km from Park Street. Newtown Kolkata has a huge park known as Eco Park. I suggest you to visit Eco Park.
Don't listen to him - those are new areas developed to cater to the IT crowd. That's NOT the core. city. Old Calcutta is NOrth Calcutta and New Calcutta s South Calcutta . What he's describing is ghastly soulless high rises of blue collar workers. @@thetravelingzam

Kolkata was already well-known business hub before east India company has even formed. Read "chand-sodagar".

Stop telling everyone New Town is new Calcutta. It's not. @@matgranger5061
What's that supposed to mean? Did all of this seem like a village to you?

Next time you visit, try visiting the Biswa Bangla Gate
Oh really? What is it?
😂😂😂😂... I love the song u added in your vlog....
How much did you spend for your two-day trip in Kolkata? Love your video, its very informative and you can really feel the vibe of the city.
Thanks for watching. India can be quite cheap. I budgeted about $30-$50 a day. I stayed in hostels to keep my expenses down
This is great, thanks for the info!
Maximum $50 a day in kolkata is really expensive. I live in kolkata India, so I assure you that the maximum expenses for per day will be $ 20.
You've just scratched the surface brother. Roughly about 5% of the City maybe.
Whole 95% was left out to explore. Better luck next time.
Oh I’m sure! Huge city. But loved what I got to see
What's the name of the music that u've used in the first 4-5 mins the video? Its so beautiful actually on top of that beauty of Kolkata Streets.
Search Jhukane bada - World of Dreamers álbum. Many songs the video there
Thanks 🙏😊
❤❤❤❤
❤️🙏
You are in the Old Kolkata area. That's why, everything feels old. Did you visit Newtown Kolkata (the new part of the city built around 2010)?
No I must have been mostly in that old town. Where is new town?

Next time I will try!
I love this vídeo 😊. Who that is ask about songs, i find some searching: Jhukane Bada - World of Dreamers
Thanks for watching and thanks for answering that question. I use all of my music from Epidemic sounds!
You would have loved it if u would have come During Durga Puja u can’t recognise the city for 10 days it becomes beautiful
Having been to Calgutter 3 times I have a few good suggestions for things to do the first of which is ...go somewhere else .
Lol! I enjoyed my visit there but there are definitely more interesting places in India
" Maidan" ( not 'Maiden') means field or park in Hindi/ Urdu...
Oh interesting! Thanks!
Moidan is a Bengali word, Maidan is Hindi urdu.
