Some people asked us what the song name is.
It's called "Takanoniharuka" which is "たかのにはるか" in Japanese.
    Thank you.

Thank you for your comment. Yes,I think so too.
But unfortunately, more than 95% Kimonos are machine printed nowadays.
To preserve this techniques and let people know, I uploaded the video above. Showing a video is way too easier to understand how Kimonos are made than writing, eh?

It takes at least 10 years until each craftsman establishes himself as a professional.
I hope you will be one of them sometime in the future.

    Thank you so much.
Unfortunately, we don't have its English version. But this may help you a bit.
We have a brand called "zen hand drawing". What we are selling there is bags following the same method as we make Kimono.
And we have English pages there too.
I don't know why but RUclips don't allow me to put links in a comment here.
Could you type "zen hand drawing" how to make on Google. And click the first link you see.
I explain how we make stuff our bag using these techniques in English.

I don't think there are any words in the english language to describe just how beautiful and amazing this is. The amount of detail and work put into this is just outstanding. I wish I could learn how to do this, I'm sure it takes a long time and hard work but the results are literally breath taking and totally worth it. WOW

This reminds me of medieval and renaissance tapestries and the 9 to 14 month process it takes to make one, except this is to be worn on the body. It's a very craftsman type of philosophy, rather than a pure aesthetic one.

Acid dyes are used to make it.
Yes, the dyes are made from scratch. Basically, we mix up several dyes to get the right colors we want.
    Thanks.

Whenever we make kimonos, we use the traditional dyeing techniques called "Tegaki(hand drawn) Kyo-Yuzen". But it takes too much time to make so that unfortunately there is just few Kimonos following the way these days.

The process of making kimono like this is just as beautiful as the final product. what a dedicated way of art! when i finish college and am making a decent salary i will make a point to buy one of these at full price. This is an art form that should never be allowed to die and deserves all the support it can get from the japanese and international community. Every time humanity moves forward (technologicaly), skills are lost. I think this is one skill that has become rare..we have to protect it

I make jewelry that is often inspired by the OBI and the whole kimono. I think after watching to many video, I will go back to my work and explore deeper my appreciation for this art form. Thank you very much. 🙏🏼❤️

    Thanks for your comment.
It takes at least 2 months to make Kimono or Obi.
It depends on how many patterns are on it.
If there are so many kinds of or numbers of patterns on it like in the video, it takes more.
    I'm afraid No.
You can't use a washing machines for that.
Dry cleaning would be helpful but specialized knowledge or skills are needed.
    Thanks.

+のぶさくら compared to a fashion brand such as GUCCI, Louise Vuitton or Dolce&Gabana, which do not give you any extra beside the brand name, their stuffs are manufactured by industry, boring, ideasless, , nothing, just the name, these kimonos seems to me so cheap.. incredible how idiot poeple are.. pay this 3600$ for Louis Vuitton, which is really NOTHING, a big zero. But a kimono not "just" an incredible artwork, unique, handmade masteroiece, but one of the most ancient culuture's symbol on Earth. It tells you about the history, and if you think deeper, it tells you about the Japanese people, a nation, a way of thinking.. how much they work to finish a kimono..smooth lines, precise drawing and painting, special technique and the smooth silk they work on.. breathtaking I believe. I could watch its makink for hours..watching how the artist draw those awesome patterns. I wish I could own something similar! even anyhting made from silk and this technique, even a little wallet or something..
