There's so much I could say in reply to this video but it would end up being a really long comment.
I've struggled with depression and OCD for about 20 years, and only recently opened up to everyone about it. Only my family and a few close friends knew about my mental health issues, but I thought it important to finally tell others in order to raise awareness as the subject is still very taboo. Like yourself I'm very good at hiding my mental health.
I can totally relate to a lot of what you said. Unless you've experienced mental health it's impossible for someone to fully understand what you're going through. I don't understand what's going on with my brain most of the time.
Thank you for raising awareness with this video. And well done for having the courage to speak about something which is obviously very personal as I know it can't be easy to do so. All the best.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this, it really is tough. All I can say is that with persistence and being open to help, be it through therapy/medication/distraction things can and do get better. I honestly never thought I would be able to get through a day without being consumed by my ocd. And I am happy to say now I manage exceptionally well, own my own business, managed to get through university, and generally live with ocd taking up about 20% of my day instead of 100%
I’m always here if you need a sounding board 🤗

@@TiffanyHD thank you I appreciate that, but don't like being a burden to anyone. I can be a bit of a lone wolf and tend to keep things to myself and try and deal with it myself, which I know isn't healthy but I suppose I'm too stubborn, embarrassed etc.
I feel kinda lost at the moment. Lost my passions for things I used to love doing like writing. The pandemic has made things worse as I'm sure it has for everyone else. I'm simply existing rather than living. Hopefully things will get better again. I just need to try harder to fight my way back to some kind of normality again, but that's easier said than done.

@@johncowdell8686 I understand that 😔 I’m exactly the same! It just takes realising that even if you have one person to talk to, you’ll realise so many others care as well 💗 I’m stubborn too so I get it 😉 I hope things do get better xx

Thanks for the upload, I did a lot of research into OCD when creating my RUclips video and it’s definitely a topic that should have more awareness!

It really is. People have very misconceived ideas about what it is and often look at it as the ‘lesser mental health problem’ and make light of it. But it really is debilitating if you have it. You can’t be ‘a little bit ocd’, being neat or being anxious isn’t ocd. Thinking the worst will happen because you haven’t done a ritual, that’s ocd 😔

@@TiffanyHD thanks for the insights. I definitely should have included more information in my video about ocd it seems. Thanks also for promoting the plant based diet on your channel. I’m looking to promote the benefits of the plant based diet on my channel too one day 😊

That's such a great story of yours about being able to have dealt with such extreme OCD. I saw your other video on herpes and wondered how that interacted with your OCD?

Thank you 🥰 my herpes can definitely flare up when I’m going through a hard patch with my OCD as herpes is brought on by stress a lot of the time! But I’m terms of germ fear etc it doesn’t effect me as my ocd has never been about cleanliness or germs 😊

@@TiffanyHD Thanks for the reply. That's interesting to hear. I have mildish OCD, which affects me a bit in terms of germ fear, but mostly during outbreaks. I was just curious to see another person with OCD + Herpes. It's a strange combo ha.

You are so strong, much stronger than you give yourself credit for. You have kicked OCD’s butt before and I know you can again ❤️
