repent and believe in the Gospel.

Gospel: Matthew 10:7-15
Jesus said to his Apostles: “And going forth, preach, saying: ‘For the kingdom of heaven has drawn near.’ Cure the infirm, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons. You have received freely, so give freely. Do not choose to possess gold, nor silver, nor money in your belts, nor provisions for the journey, nor two tunics, nor shoes, nor a staff. For the laborer deserves his portion. Now, into whatever city or town you will enter, inquire as to who is worthy within it. And stay there until you depart. Then, when you enter into the house, greet it, saying, ‘Peace to this house.’ And if, indeed, that house is worthy, your peace will rest upon it. But if it is not worthy, your peace will return to you. And whoever has neither received you, nor listened to your words, departing from that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet. Amen I say to you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment, than for that city.”

Prayer: My compassionate Lord, Your firmness and chastisements are an act of Your utmost mercy for those who are hard of heart. Please soften my heart, dear Lord, and when I am stubborn and closed, please rebuke me in Your great love so that I will always turn back to You and Your saving message with all my heart. Jesus, I trust in You.

A wonderful message to fulfilling our commitment to God. Those who have opened their hearts to the Lord are keenly aware of the comfort and love that He brings into their life. That feeling and the assurance of Gods presence in your heart ideally should motivate you to spread the message of Christ to the world. There is a truth though, especially to the followers, that there are those who have not nor desire to share in the truth that Christ brought into this world. As believers, we know the simplicity of the act of love that was given us on the cross and the assurance of eternal life that His resurrection showed to those who are born again in the spirit. God is very aware that there is a struggle going on in this world. As we have progressed, we have put "other" gods before us. The unfortunate fact is that those things which we are more connected with are the very same things that allow us to drift apart from our faith. Subtlety is the warfare that Satan has elected to use in compromising our faith. The lack of attendance in our churches is a gauge whereby we can see this. By this single act, Satan takes away the strength of faith. Divide and conquer! His subtle works strive to show any meaning for the church! But there is an importance that even Saint Paul wrote about to the Hebrews, "And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the day drawing near.", Hebrews 10:24-25. These simple words are the encouragement we need to follow to keep the Church and our faith strong. In doing this we are showing God our resolve to act in His name and honor and glorify His Kingdom. 🙏💖🕊🕊🕊🕊
