My Grandfather escaped in May 1938 with his my father Sidney and his two siblings Margot and Erich. The company was basically handed over to ambitious "Aryans". We still have the letter, the Third Reich stamp at the top, and it says in part; "We hope now that Grotzinger and Sons is under Aryan ownership that all of the former customers will again patronize...ad nauseum..." They did...The company made hundreds of millions, and probably is a conservative estimate. The family name somehow got changed to Groetzinger upon arrival in America...losing the umlaut above th o...but at least they got out, not all of our family heeded the writing on the wall. Can't help but to notice that in the background of the Jolfs Neccermann all of those nice Porceline figures were made in Concentration Camp of Allach run by the SS and Himmler it's just the Collector in me that noticed this .

One of the guilty lies of that time is that no one knew what was happening. From individual people right up to heads of countries, they knew. Just as we know right now that all of these right wing leaders, elected leaders, are only a step away from fascism. Conservative governments now have a sinister meaning. We have failed to learn the lessons from such a short time ago. Or maybe the powerful learned the lessons too well, learned how easy it is to manipulate low information citizens. Cambridge Analytica. Steve Bannon. Rudolph Murdoch. The video “ Unfit” does a good job of explaining why supporters of leaders such as those of Trump cannot be reasoned with.
