    Looks very nice and workable. Could you use this to cast pewter? The melting point of pewter seems to be just around or sligthly below what silicone plastique can take. Perhaps you could at least get one casting...

    This stuff looks awesome! Just what I was looking for!
    I have a quick question: I'm more of a visual person when it comes to quantities, and wanted to know how much each of those containers at the beginning of the video contain, in pounds. Do you know? It would help me when determining how much Silicone Plastique I should be ordering for my project :)

  • @MakeYourOwnMolds

    @MiaMccB This is a very hard question to answer.There are many factors that must be considered that contribute to the wear and tear on a mold. How thick or thin is the mold? What is the mold being used for? How large is the mold? Has the mold been stored properly? How often is the mold used? In general, you should consider a mold made with our materials as commercial in grade with a toughness that insures long mold life and dependability. It will last you for years and many uses if used properly

    You can give it a try. But I would recommend using our liquid silicone product Copy Flex. You will want to seal it with confectioners glaze first so that the silicone will not get down into the crevices of the cookie. You can find Copy Flex for sale on the website associated with this video. and on that same website there is a video how to make molds with Copy Flex. Good luck and let us know how it goes!

  • @MakeYourOwnMolds

    Sure, as long as the blown sugar is strong enough to withstand the handling of the mold making process. In other words, if your sugar is delicate, you may end up breaking it while making your mold.

    Styrofoam and polystyrene are porous materials and the Silicone Plastique can become mechanically locked into the surface once it cures. You should seal these materials first before applying Silicone Plastique so you can peel the silicone off cleanly. Hope this helps.

    KewneRain, You can certainly create a mold of your finger. You will want to take into consideration how you are going to stand the finished mold up so that when you pour the liquid gummy solution into it it doesn't tip over. Go to the website associated with this video, got to "How to Make Molds" then scroll down to "How to Use Easy Shell Maker". If you have further questions you can choose the contact us option on the web page.

And also can i colour silicon plastique. Id like to know asap i may be buying this product.

  • @MakeYourOwnMolds
    @MakeYourOwnMolds  11 лет назад

    Hi Vitrobijou, Thank you for your question. Silicone Plastique will allow you have have a shiny finish to your resin when it comes out of the mold you create. You will want your original object that you make your mold from to be the cleanest and shiniest possible. Starting with a clean and shiny object will allow your final mold to have a shine to it as well, if you original item is dull and dirty that will transfer to the mold and your final resin peices will look dull and dirty.

  • @MakeYourOwnMolds
    @MakeYourOwnMolds  11 лет назад

    Dear Halayamani,
    The smallest amount you can purchase of Silicone Plastique is one pound. The amount used in this video at the beginning was measured probably 1-2 pounds in each container.

    Yes, you can make a mold using silicone plastique and use it to mold silicone plastique into a part or a particular shape. You can find Release-Dit at my website listed in the above description.

    • @MakeYourOwnMolds
      @MakeYourOwnMolds  11 лет назад

      Hi wenbiafra, If your original object has a nice shine the Silicone Plastique will pick up that shine and give a shiny mold. The resin you put into your shiny mold will have a shine too. If your original object is dull or dirty then your mold and anything you cast in the mold will be dull.
