    I believe that what had touched this young guy, isn't so much the intellect from the answer the rabbe gave him, it's more the power from a tzadik/rabbe that transformed him and awakened his yidishe nsehume as he described by himself

    What a lovely story of the nice Jewish man who had been in the music band. G-d bless him and all his family.
    I have written twice to the Rebbe over the last 7 years and the answers were astounding, but I am still trying to find the first letter.

    His question was: Isn't there one God for all of us? The Rebbe's answer, as I understand it, was simply: Yes, there is one God for all of us, and each one of us has our relationship with Him. The black man needs to be the best black man he can be; the Indian must strive to be the best Indian he can. And the Jew must be the best Jew he can -- connecting to God Almighty through the Torah and commandments given to him as a Jew.

      I feel the passion and connection they had/have still.
      I have question about what the Rebbe said: what happens with a Jewish black man or Jewish Indian??
      I feel the words of the rebbe can be heard as derogatory against Anyone not Jewish... Which can lead to antisemitism especially in these days as I hear people say 'oh you Jews think you are superior's etc...
      This can come from ignorance, also thru suspicion of who we are because we don't go proselytizing and encouraging others to become Jewish!! Anyway... That's a whole other story
      Thank you for reading and thank you for putting this video
      May we all find ways to live together in peace and prosperity, with wisdom and understanding, with mercy and not judgment, finding beauty and valance, through perseverance and endurance to be able to see the bigger picture in our lives and in the path of the planet, to find our core root/our foundation, our ability to share and care .... And connect to our physical realm in which we have the opportunity to join the dots and connect to higher realms to the upper worlds and beyond

    The question is the title of the video and not meant to be answered as such. The story is the personal reflections of one individual so the conversation will be as he remembered it based in his questions. It is not meant to be a theological response about Gd. If you take something from it, good. If not, it's an insight into one person's connection with the Rebbe and his journey home.

    I feel the passion and connection they had/have still.
    I have question about what the Rebbe said: what happens with a Jewish black man or Jewish Indian??
    Why did the rebbe specify these 2 and not others??
    Maybe this is my correction path bot to judge and to turn judgment to mercy thru finding the beauty in everything...
    That is what the rebbe was doing saying this, that everything has a time and season, and we each have our unique purpose in life... And the ourpose of the jews is entertwined with torah and mitzvot.
    To any who feel the words of the rebbe as derogatory against anyone not Jewish... This can lead to antisemitism especially in these days as I hear people say 'oh you Jews think you are superior' etc...
    This can come from ignorance, also thru suspicion of who we are because we don't go proselytizing and encouraging others to become Jewish!! Anyway... That's a whole other story

    SirSardonic let me know if you find the answer.
    I also find it really difficult to look at our fickle emotional resources as proof. But trying to prove G-d through mathematical, statistical logic is impossible, because G-d chooses to remain hidden from us, for some reason. Proving something through logic means that there is substantial evidence to which the logic can be applied, and G-d purposely did not provide that substantial logic.
    When trying to work my way up--i.e., getting to G-d through rationality--I make it pretty far, because for me, comparing secularity/atheism/religion/spirituality and all the other ways to live my life with each other, makes it clear that G-dliness is what I want and what I need.
    But there's always the point that I reach where I'm not sure if I should trust myself that this is the realest thing.
    My rabbi told me: that's why it's called a leap of faith. If it were proven to me, it wouldn't be faith.
    Have I resolved my intellectual conflicts? Nope. Maybe I'll be struggling with my intellectual conflicts all my life, but that doesn't change this: G-d is the most important thing in my life.

    • @SirSardonic
      @SirSardonic 9 лет назад

      Doesn't it seem ridiculous to you that the most important thing in your life is something the existence of which you have no way to prove? Faith is gullibility, and it's only sold as a virtue because that's the only way to keep religion alive. You can use faith as a reason to believe in absolutely anything, which is why it's useless. I'm very thankful that I was able to stop struggling and realize that religion doesn't really have the answers it claims to. No more faith for me; I'll stick to reality :)

      I would recommend reading "G-d, Rationality and Mysticism" by Dr. Irving Block. The book argues that from a philosophical perspective, belief in G-d is rational.

      For me He is too. It may seem ridiculous to some, but can we say the same, about someone who believes this earth has no purpose and it was made by chance?

  • @SirSardonic
    @SirSardonic 11 лет назад

    I liked the video, but sadly, the primary question was left unanswered. Feelings inside our own heads are not, to me, admissible as evidence of anything. I'm still looking for the answer to this question, although at this point, I've just about despaired of ever finding it.

    • @janishart5128
      @janishart5128 6 лет назад +6

      *SirSardonic:* You have to look no further than your own body - or open your door and look out at creation. Can YOU create a blade of grass?! Do you know ANYBODY who can create a blade of grass?! The evidence of God is all around us and in us - just look at the complexity of your own body and the vast number of species that live on the Earth, as well as the vast number of varieties within each species! Do you think this all got here on it's own?! Or the 'big bang' maybe?! Even if you believe in the "big bang", and explosion suggests destruction, NOT creation, and Someone had to create that "big bang" - an explosion just doesn't happen on it's own - it has to be created. You are choosing to ignore the evidence that's right under your nose and NOBODY can help you with that - you have to WANT to see the logic of creation and God being the Creator. That's why He gave us His instruction book that not only tells us how we all got here (on Page 1!), it tells us the best way to live (because our Creator knows what's best for us). It's called the Bible (Hebrew scriptures of course, since that's the original!).

    • @nomorecensoringme
      @nomorecensoringme Год назад +3

      This story is not unique for the Rebbe, of righteous memory. Was he "the" Moshiach? No, since the Rebbe did not build the Third Temple, which the Moshiach will do. Besides he encouraged us to do things to advance the coming of Moshiach speedily in our/his time.
      The Rebbe, of blessed memory, is considered by a good many people to be the Moshiach of our time. A different concept.

    Measuring God's existence. Earth is a polarized material planet within a finite material universe within a INFINITE material and spiritual universe. Earth's environment consists of extreme to subtle opposites. Centrifugal-centripetal force, positive-negative, acid-alkaline etc. The opposite of finite is Infinite. All things finite begin and eventually end. Infinity has no beginning or ending. Therefore Infinity is God. Since the finite material realm is within Infinity All is fragments of God.
