I had a physical last year and when I brought up my menopausal situation, there was literally no conversation/education about what I should be doing. I have a female doctor who is very bright, but Barbara is right, doctors are not educated in menopause. Today I begin my self education! Thank you, Dominique and Barbara!

I'm living in a hormone deficient state and that's Florida. Actually had a doctor ask me why would I want more libido, have more energy and have resilient skin and hair since I'm over 50? He said that's nature's way and that i need to learn to embrace it and realize those things are gone forever. Never went back and went to look for a more "enlightened " doctor.

Women deserve better, I deserve better, I want to be the best version of the new Post Menopausal me. Thankful that Dr Taylor is willing to share herself with us (me) with a subject that is just so massive in it's nature, that can and will constantly change - and someone that doesn't think we ( I ) am crazy. Most women I know are silent about it, they don't want to speak of it and pretend they are "just fine" never a single symptom to be had. Dr Taylor has given me a voice, a choice and a mission. I've lost weight, I've improved my diet...i am starting yoga myself, but I was confused by higher triglycerides...slightly higher blood pressure...things that did not seem to coincide with my new healthy life. After I left the doctor's office...i had a hankering to get a nice vegan lunch and happened to find a little store that sold puzzles as I was beginning to feel like I needed some challenging. My mum was offered HRT but refused the offer due to the bad press surrounding it. She went on to develop osteoporosis, had bouts of depression, developed bladder issues and dementia which affected her ability to live fully and actively post menopause. She is no longer with us, and we will never know if HRT would have changed any of that, but I can’t help feeling if she had taken it she could have saved herself from a lots of those issues for many more years.

We sat at a round table facing me and listened intently at what I said. She ask me to tell her my whole journey. All my HRT was crazy bad that the other doctors gave me which is why I always felt terrible. My doctor got my HRT right where it needed to be. I feel so much better!!! My doctor is in WV and I am moving to Florida in a few months and plan to fly to WV to see my menopause doctor. There’s a study that HRT with calcium can cause heart attacks. Just FYI. The research is fairly new and they don’t know how much calcium causes the increase in attacks. I’m on calcium and HRT. I was told if you have osteopenia you’ll be put on prescription calcium supplements (bone drugs?) when your DEXA scan shows a certain drop within so many years. I’m fighting all the way. I exercise and take the supplements. I also switched my calcium supplement after reading about them and getting my last scan. I still had osteopenia compared to my peers. This despite exercise, HRT, and calcium. I switched to a calcium gummy. I think is the triphosporous one. Anyway there’re three different calciums available OTC. So I don’t know which one is linked to increased heart attacks. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t!

We must start questioning Doctors advice and every ingredient that is swallowed, injected, or placed in our bodies. The choices are ours!! I so appreciate Dr. Taylor’s education, I don’t 100 percent agree with everything but that just makes me research more. God bless you both❤️

Also be aware that there is zero menopause training in medical school anyway.. Therefore, even a currently “practicing” MD will not have the educational training and knowledge to be able to treat a woman effectively.

Your mother is one of that lucky 5% that made enough testosterone on her own to sustain her life. She is the exception, not the rule. Thank you Dominique and Dr. Barbie for this video, so very educational and revealing. I studied menopause with Dr. Barbie a few years ago for many months and that's the reason why I am in HRT nowadays, however as you well say it took me literally years to accomplish it, due to ignorance in me and around me, doctor's hard rejection and society convincing that my growing symptoms and feeling horrible everyday was normal and had to be put up with, period. Thank you so much for changing my life!!! Blessings.

I have Uterine Cancer and this does progress with excessive estrogen. In order to treat the cancer, you need to have a uterine lining which is thinned by progesterone. So estrogen can be a problem, but it depends on what your hormonal issues are. I feel much more relaxed and less anxious when I balance my estrogen with natural herbs that stimulate progesterone. And I have been cancer free now for 4 years with a local IUD that releases progesterone and when taking Chasteberry Extract (an herb that stimulates release of progesterone).

Thank you. This subject is ridiculously under discussed around the world despite it massively impacting on half the population. Here in London, England few GPs (doctors- General Practitioner) know much about or even seem to care about menopause and it’s impact on women and their families. It rare to get to see a specialist. We need more of this type of discussion so women are more able to make informed choices and encourage change.
