    my 2014 Santa Fe v6 is making a thud when starting from a complete stop while turning, it will do it up to 3 times when not going completely straight from a stop. There is a used car warranty on the vehicle so took it to the toyota dealer where i bought it and they could not get it to do it, yet can hear and feel it and so can my mother. The toyota dealer took it to the Hyundai dealer and hyundai tech also said there is nothing wrong. They had the car for over two weeks between the two dealers! This video may help my case. was this vehicle you were working on make that clunk, thud, whatever you want to call it?

    interesting. i have a 2012 tucson that came up with a coupler pump circuit open code. no drivability issues but the car is essentially only front wheel drive atm. will be taking it in soon to inspect it. there’s actually a tsb on them where they want you to replace the pump and the harness. we’ll see how it goes

    • @JLsAutoSolution
      @JLsAutoSolution  Год назад

      your vehicle is a 2012 so i would suggest that you do not change the part based on a tsb. there could be a broken or corroded wire which is causing the issue or even a module issue,
      the last thing you want is to change a pump only to have the issue still there.

    Great video. I believe that's what's gone on my Santa Fe as well. The other day I accelerated from a red light and I heard a clunk around the rear end of the car. I noticed it would stop passed 50 km/h driving straight. It was bad during takeoffs from red lights or stop signs, or while going left/right. Since I was away from home, I asked a mechanic to remove the drive shaft and the noise stopped completely. This makes my AWD car a FWD one, at least until I can get it fixed. My question is this: does my issue sound related to the 4wd coupling? I also noticed, when they removed the drive shaft (the shaft that goes from the front diff all the way to the rear diff) that there was a oily wet spot under the 4wd coupling. Is it possible the clunky problem is related to the leak, aka to the loss of pressure within the coupling?

    • @JLsAutoSolution
      @JLsAutoSolution  3 года назад +1

      it very well could be, but I am not there.. do not forget that the coupling is attached to the rear differential and that could possibly leak also.. there is also u-joints that could make a clunking sound or possibly the transfercase--/ptu or a worn out center bearing.
      the coupling is normally accompanied by a shake or shimmy while turning and accelerating. unless there is excessive wear caused by leaking or worn out parts.

      Ciao,
      L'olio che si trova all'interno dell'unità di accoppiamento è un fluido a vita.
      Se è fuoriuscito, l'opzione migliore a questo punto sarebbe sostituire l'unità di accoppiamento.
      Tutte le unità vengono riempite con fluido di accoppiamento (ATF a viscosità ultra bassa) prima della spedizione. L'ispezione, il rabbocco e la sostituzione del fluido di accoppiamento non sono quindi necessari (zero manutenzione, fluido a vita). (fonte kia)

    What if you remove the clutch's & weld the shaft permanently?

    • @JLsAutoSolution
      @JLsAutoSolution  Год назад

      you could but would give a full time 4x4 and would probably damage the units. or codes might be set due to an error in the control logic to split the wheel control

      @@ghaziza80 I did, car didn't like it. The wheels started chirping like crazy. I ended buying a new AWD coupling which for what I paid I could have gotten a whole rear end with coupling on eBay for cheaper. If I had to do it again I would just re tig weld the broken factory welds & let the system operate as it should.

    Hello,
    I watched your video "2016 sorento 4wd coupling replacement” Great work, thank you.
    Curios if you might have any insight to my situation. I replaced the AWD coupling part number 47800 3B520 on my son's Kia Sportage EX. Unfortunately I did not notice that the electrical connection on the new coupling oil pump has three pins compared to two on the old coupling oil pump. I also ordered a new wire harness part number 47891 3B310 but that also has two pins.
    Do you know of a newer wire harness that might work?
    Or can I swap the oil pump from the old coupling to the new coupling? They look identical.

    question (from Sweden) I have a Kia Sorento 2011 automatic transmission (crdi) and also no 4wd. My symptoms were when I put it in reverse and turned it sounded like the splines were not engaging and the sound was quite loud. Wasn't 4wd locked. And the car was only front-wheel drive. And the sound was heard as it came from the rear axle. I have also seen on RUclips that it is common for the front transfer case to have problems with the splines rusting and being destroyed. But am pretty sure it came from the rear axle. Is it likely from my description that it is so🤔 And how can you determine if it is the differential. Thanks in advance❗If anyone can confirm my teroi on this.

    Hey buddy, your video says that you are going to show us how the coupler works. You did not show that. You are showing what parts are inside. Plus, you are so confused by talking and talking that you are swallowing the ands of the words..... Your video will be good if someone wants to rebuild the coupler and not to see how it works....
    Sorry, don't take it as insult. I am just trying to help you understand what you are missing in your video.
