- Deep in the jungle lies the ancient ruins of Xunantunich. A large but not vast site (exposed part) of a unique and truly fascinating set of buildings that highlight Mayan civilization.
What's unique is the use of Olmec pieces that existed before the Mayans arrived.
Should be on your list of must see places in Belize.
I love that the child came along - hearing all of the wonderful things his ancestors created so many years ago

@@stacyafong … we drove ourselves in 2019. Lots of interesting stops and vistas along the way! The people were all phenomenal!
