    I live in the US but I can say both teams have good coaches. Jesse suits well Canada, he has a knack in finding Canadian talents like Bambito, and many more to come.

    With Poche being the manager I hope we now can have Gio at the 10. Berhalter refusing to play him there shut down the creative part of our attack, Not only did Berhalter refuse to play him at the 10 he had Gio playing next to the 6 @ Copa.

      LoL!!! Yeah, Marsch took Canada to almost win the semi-final.match in the Copa Americas in his 1st few weeks as coach.
      Such a typical arrogant.attitude, saying that the U.S. has the better coach when he hasn't done a thing yet with the U.S. team.
      Let's see if he & the team have any chemistry before making any more questionable declarations.

    The question should have been, “Which manager walked into the better situation?” The answer to that question is of course, “Jesse Marsch”. Jesse Marsch has time to learn, developing, and improve, all while managing a squad with potential.

    Marsch is more dedicated to the CMNT and its development. Poch doesn't care as long as he's getting paid. Frankly, I doubt Poch will last very long at USMNT.

    • @FrankieBlueEyes
      @FrankieBlueEyes 25 дней назад +2

      They have completely different job remits. Marsch is there for the overall project of Canadian soccer. From the grassroots, up to the CPL, to the national teams. Poch is there to just coach the senior team into the WC.

    You have realized that Canada had an easier path to the Copa semis than the USA did. USA should have at least made it out of the group though. If Canada was on the USA half of the draw they wouldn't have made it to the semis. Also, Canada played 2 of the games up a man during Copa.

    • @jaytse2269
      @jaytse2269 25 дней назад +2

      And US had an easier group. Canada had Argentina and no CONCACAF teams.

    • @timothypark4753

      I am talking about after the group stage, Canada had it easier

    • @eramos8916
      @eramos8916 25 дней назад

      Yet here's the kicker. US wax eliminated by a CONCACAF nation while Canada has to face all CONMEBOL teams to reach the semis.
      So you're incorrect, Canada has a harder path and while USA "should have" won, they didn't and crashed out.

    • @jaytse2269
      @jaytse2269 25 дней назад

      @@timothypark4753But the group stage is still part of the path

    • @jrcanuck1
      @jrcanuck1 24 дня назад

      The U.S. had the easier path in the group stage & still lost.
      Canada totally earned being a man up in those 2 matches. Canada's fast pace & determination forced Peru & Chile to play clutch & grab dirty futbol/soccer style of play. Peru should have had a 2nd red card for a nasty head-butt.
      Canada outplayed Uruguay in the semi-final & could have won that match too with a bit of luck.
      Marsch is the man!!!

  • @1972dsrai
    @1972dsrai 25 дней назад +2

    Come on. Its not even an argument. Poch is easily the better coup with his record in club management. Marsch doesn’t even come close. Poch also wasn’t fired by Chelsea. He left by mutual agreement which is partly why the compensation package hasn’t been sorted out yet as Chelsea were waiting to see where he would move to, but as its now to the US it should make the process easier to resolve.

    I disagree with Alex that the "U.S. should keep dominating CONCACAF".
    I will make the argument that the U.S. has not dominated CONCACAF since 2021, when Canada was #1 in the qualifiers which were played in 2021 & 2022, which quite frankly is the only fair CONCACAF tournament, when every country plays home & away.
    The U.S. tied 4th place Costa Rica for points.
    The U.S.. got into an easy group in the 2022 World cup & Canada unfortunately was in the Group of Death partially because of FIFA's ridiculous ranking system.
    Remember that the US didn't qualify for the World cup in 2018.
    The U.S. plays at home for about 90 to 95% of their matches, which is a huge advantage. Canada probably under 15%.
    You cannot look at the Gold cup because many of the best players in CONCACAF don't participate.
    Yes, Canada had union issues & lost coach Herdman & struggled in 2023; but they still were in the finals in the 2023 Nations League cup.
    In 2024, Canada made the semifinals & almost beat Uruguay in that match. The U.S. failed to qualify.
    While the U.S. does have depth, most of the U.S. players have not overly impressed in Europe.
    I would take our top 7 players & our goaltending over theirs.
    It will be interesting to see if their new coach makes that big of a difference. Both teams have a lot of potential & are quite young on average.
