My friend bought a copy back in the day in similar condition and his got a 9.2-I actually saw it before him and still regret not buying it-awesome haul
I got my first GSX-1 in 1982 and sold it to my LCS in 1991 after leaving the hobby. Graded comics brought me back and my first slab was a 9.2 GSX-1 in 2005.
I purchase 2 copies back in 1977 I was 9 years of age paid $2.00 each from my neighborhood candy store purchased another 1 at a flea market with hulk 181 for $4.57 and still own them today in almost VF condition to mint I own over 3500 Marvel Silver and Bronze age books...This how I know these youtubers are fake comic collectors
@@rocketfighter8 Not sure where she got them from she may have known someone who had books...She would have lots of comic books behind the counter some of them in a type of zip lock bag hanging from a rope with a clip. All of her books were in great shape some even near mint...I always made sure my books were in great shape. To bad she passed away when I was about 15 years of age she would get me the books I needed.
Get it graded no matter what. It’s an excellent copy. You did not overpay if an unrestored book/looks certain to be a 9.2/4 from video but of course cannot say without examining directly. Excellent pick up: yes of course wish you paid less than retail but the grading will change that if using CGC.
I’m planning on keeping this copy for a while and selling my graded 8.0 to make some money back. Not sure if I’m going to send this one in to get graded yet.
Pay whatever TF you want to pay!!...If you want it, bc its not found much in the wild, you get it. If I had a dime for ever time I turned down a book bc it was too high id be a rich man. If you want it bc you think its gona go up in value then you have a price threshold based on what you can resell it for. If you want it bc youre a fan and a REAL collector price should NOT be a consideration. Remorse only sets in bc you realize youre not a fan after all. Value is based on what YOU are willing to pay for it. If you want it, value it, and have the means then its a no brainer for a raw book in the wild. Youre happy, the seller is happy and the hobby is healthy. Having flippers leaving the hobby is bad and good bc it elevates the hobby, not the way CGC tries to control and manipulate the hobby, but also bad bc they dump books for cheap to escape their own losses. Prices should continue as they did prior to 2019 and like stocks shouldnt be compared to how it performed during the boom...Hell, stocks only list 52week highs why should these idiot YT influencers report 2021 highs...Who cares...Again, Value is the price you put on it, if its too high then just move on theres too many fish in the sea...I mean comics in the wild..
Cool pick up - tbh if these high grade (or even low grade) grails are raw - to me that’s always a red flag. Wit resto, staples and other stuff going on, it’s a pretty big risk.
Not a collector but I've saved enough to get a copy of GSX1- my grail. That brought me to this video. Good luck with the grade!

You got a great deal. No doubt about it.
Was a little nervous at first but definitely feeling better once I was able to examine the books closely. Thanks bud!

@@sinchman1 GSX-1 came out in 1975 and your candy store had them in 1977 in VF condition?

Once in a lifetime haul. Incredible books and conditions
I would like to see it in person but looking at the pictures I am at 9.2
Fantastic books dude!
From the pics looks 9.0, great haul.

Makes sense. Appreciate the comment 👍
As long as there is no restoration I agree, I think that copy of GSXM1 will get a 9.0 or 9.2. Again, assuming no restoration, you did NOT overpay.
Raw-doggin is the way to go! Comics were meant to be read!!
I’d say the GSXM1 is in the 8 range. I would just sell it raw and try to make your money back. Maybe ask a slight premium.

@@ComicsWithBonics There's honestly no wrong decision with this book.

Well said. Thanks for your feedback 👍

Depends how bad you wanted the comic i have several comix which i got for a few bucks cause the seller had no clue so it evens out lol
It’s one of my favorite comics in my collection so overall I’m pretty happy with it since I’m keeping it long term. 👍

I agree buying raw grails carry a lot of risk. Fingers crossed that this copy doesn’t have any restoration. 🤞
9.0 to 9.2.
Keep that GSXM 1 raw..
I’m not sure what to do yet but I’m definitely enjoying it at the moment. Appreciate it 👍
