enjoyed this thanks Mike, my Grandfather was a paratrooper in the Arnhem campaign, he was killed in Oosterbeek in Holland, I bet that's a good place to hunt as still today you can see the remains of dig outs in the woodland.
I really like this kind of video. Sorry you found the potential explosive probably an inconvenience. And I really love how you left the tree root completely intact. I would love to see you get a GoPro nothing super fancy and a head or chest mount and you'd be able to do a live dig! Or maybe a tripod for your camera but I know that would be more equipment you'd have to carry.
04:25 .. Not recommended - Berlin Tegel replaced their Garrett Metal Detectors for full body scanners some years ago haha !!! Why has this video only got 467 likes ? ... AMAZING find, never seen this before ... Mike - you have "ba!!s" Thanks so much.
Hi!!! I work as one of these explosive guy 😉 here in Germany. Please report such finds when you find them. Children can find them too when you dig them out.
Hi Dunhill! Cool job! Yes I do report them. Didn´t in the past and really regret that. I know some people in Germany who help me out with reporting explosives to the right authorities. You should start a channel on what you get reported, very curious about the stuff you guys get rid off.
Iron Mike Metaldetecting Sheers mate. Yes it could be an intersting vid about IEDs but I will not do one. Sorry. If they see how I handle these finds, they think they can do it on the same way and a lot of these stuff is very dangerous.
Dunhill 2005 I understand. But I didn't meant how you handle them or move it, I was just curious about what sort of stuff you guys find or get reported. And you're right, it is very dangerous stuff. I don't like to find or to touch it but I simply have to to report it.. :-S
Iron Mike Metaldetecting When I search or handle ammonition, I am free of all metallic and electric things. Because it will disturb my detector. It works different to yours. so I have no camera when I work. But if you have more precise questions about ammo, maybe I can help you with a vid 😉 but no founds
Great video, Mike! The shot at the end is beautiful. Sorry you found explosives. I'm undecided about that. I would like to find some, but I don't want to find some. GL & HH, my friend. Brian
Thanks Brian! Like finding them to just show you guys but that's it. Bit of a hassle to report them and just dont like to touch the stuff. Happy Hunting!
The protruding nose on the rockets establishes the "stand-off" distance of the round, when that tube collapses, the hollow charge fires. Doing it that way puts the hollow charge right against the armour when it goes off.
you were right... Panzerschreck. the spring is really just wire to wrap around the firing contact. It's an oversized US Bazooka. great weapons, the German versions had way better penetration than the US.
just subscribed yesterday. your videos make me want to start detecting but I live in arizona usa. so there probably isn't much to find out here. and it's EOD in English. explosive ordinance disposal. keep making videos! love it!
I am so jealous. :) Would LOVE to scour the German countryside for WW2 stuff. BTW Mike, have you ever considered coming to America and metal detect at Gettysburg Battlefield? Its a fascinating place besides being HAUNTED AS HELL. ;) Grew up 45 minutes from it. Place is creepy at night. Its hard to describe but, you always feel like you're being watched.
Jeffrey Davis You can but you have to have special permission from the Park Service. And all findings must be turned over to the Gettysburg Historical Society.
Iron Mike Metaldetecting Nah, I'm fine, I guess I just can't ever seem to remember which relics of this type go inert, which develop a hair trigger, and which ones seem to gain 50/50 odds of having gone either way. But one thing that for whatever reason does seem to have a near guaranteed hair trigger is my jump reaction.
you got two nice pieces but as you said, what can you do with them? nothing indeed :( I always feel frustrated when I find those explosives but once right under a panzerfaust came a bayonet scabbard and well over the panzerfaust I found already two helmets and two rifles. it always worths to double check even if might be dangerous. I like your videos hope to see more, who know maybe see you in some forest around berlin ;)
just a suggestion, because you said that you dont like filming and digging. Why don't you get a GoPro? just mount it to your head, so you have your hands free and can dig and film at the same time. Nice videos by the way!
Yup Panzerschreck historywarsweapons.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/Panzerschreck.jpg There should be another bit of metal on the spring... still in the ground likely.
How did you got a permit for forest area in Berlin? Its strictly prohibited to go with a detector there. Als well in whole Brandenburg. Perhaps you can give me hint?
Hi Sully, Yes been there but didn't metal detect. Visited a lot of former ww2 battlegrounds across Europe. Would love to go to the pacific one time, or Russia.
@@IronMikeMetaldetecting Well that I know. I was just wondering from which tunic. Regular tunic had the green buttons as you showed. I was wondering if there were also certain tunics that used white buttons or if the buttons had just been taken of a tunic and repurposed and for that reason painted white.
Hi Donald! Not at all. There is still so much ordnance in the ground here. Police get these kind of reports regularly. But I don't like finding it, but when I do I report it. Always a bit of a hassle though.

the round thing that your unsure of that's about the size of a bullet is part of a K98 rifle cleaning kit
enjoyed this thanks Mike, my Grandfather was a paratrooper in the Arnhem campaign, he was killed in Oosterbeek in Holland, I bet that's a good place to hunt as still today you can see the remains of dig outs in the woodland.

Raven Kahne I'm pretty sure you aren't allowed to metal detect there
Jeffrey Davis You can but you have to have special permission from the Park Service. And all findings must be turned over to the Gettysburg Historical Society.
No such thing as ghosts bud, being haunted is a relic of people without education, don't fall victim.
Another awesome video and very cool finds , thanks Mike
No thank you for watching (again)! :-)
Cool channel I have seen similar but I like the editing and layout. New sub looking forward to the next upload
+Colin Andrew thanks Colin!
Lol, at 3:07 the sudden sound of him trying to blow the dust off made me literally jump IRL.

+Iron Mike Metaldetecting Ja heerlijk daar, dit jaar ook aantal keer geweest, zoek ook met dezelfde detector als jou👍👍
Vette trip! Bedankt voor het delen :)
Graag gedaan! :)
The Rockets look like German 88mm anti-tank rockets maybe. (Panzerschreck)
i was always like OH NO O HNO ITS GOING TO EXPLODE
you got two nice pieces but as you said, what can you do with them? nothing indeed :( I always feel frustrated when I find those explosives but once right under a panzerfaust came a bayonet scabbard and well over the panzerfaust I found already two helmets and two rifles. it always worths to double check even if might be dangerous. +THURROCK VARMINTING it is? Turned out the lens was broken all along! Got it fixed, you see the image now :-)
Its a simple panasonic handycam.
indeed thats are 88 mm panzerschreck rockets very dangerous due to a shaped charge and a sensitive detonator
yes, tricky stuff. They were removed by the right authorities and properly dealt with.
And thanks for the sub!
Yup Panzerschreck historywarsweapons.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/Panzerschreck.jpg There should be another bit of metal on the spring... still in the ground likely.

Have you ever gone, or want to go to the beaches? Omaha, Utah?
Hi Sully, Yes been there but didn't metal detect. Visited a lot of former ww2 battlegrounds across Europe. Would love to go to the pacific one time, or Russia.
Iron Mike Metaldetecting OK. Thanks. Love your videos man.
Anyone know where those white buttons are from ?
Tunic buttons from a German uniform
@@IronMikeMetaldetecting Well that I know. I was just wondering from which tunic. Regular tunic had the green buttons as you showed. I was wondering if there were also certain tunics that used white buttons or if the buttons had just been taken of a tunic and repurposed and for that reason painted white.

Panzershreck rockets!
did the police seemed surprised when you told them what you found?
Hi Donald! Not at all. There is still so much ordnance in the ground here. Police get these kind of reports regularly. But I don't like finding it, but when I do I report it. Always a bit of a hassle though.
get out of the Woods!!,...come back to the Concrete Jungle !!
.....misery awaits. :-)
ever think you could be digging someones body? and thats why the buttons are there? pretty crazy
I never have and don't want to either. But if I do, I'll leave it as it is and report it.
Report it to bomb disposal or police.. Others like kids might find em snd play with it
Has been done. Reported and removed (by kampfmittelräumdienst = German EOD)
where in Berlin do you dig?
+Daniel Rigby usually in the ground..
