I traveled to Europe for a school trip when I was 14 and I had seen Emma perform and that was my first time I ever seen the musical and it was absolutely captivating and when I got back home, I seen this video and I was like completely in shock of that I had seen her and I didn’t realize this was her
I remember Emma was the understudy and I was disappointed coz I really wanted to see the original actress but after watching Emma perform my god, she was absolutely incredible!
I flew over from Norway to the UK with my parents back in January 2015 for an exchange semester at the University of Southampton that year and a few days before driving to Southampton, we stayed in London living in a flat of a family friend and we went to see Wicked on West End. While I can't exactly remember today who played Elphaba back then, some online searching gave me the conclusion that it must've been Emma Hatton playing Elphaba that year and her being the one in the role we saw back then and I do remember (if it was her) that she was amazing. This TV performance is just as amazing, she has pipes for sure! :)
2024 and this is still the greatest performance of this song.
Literally, the fact that Emma was 22 when she played elphaba is actually amazing😭😭
Agree . Love her voice
