Dr. Lee, you are the Queen of Clinical Skills! I took my exam yesterday and passed. My CNA training was done at Academy of Exceptional Healthcare Training in Houston. I passed the Texas Nurse Aide written exam with 100%. I am so excited for my new career and am grateful to you. Thank you for doing these videos. My skills were mouth care, positioning on side and respirations. People who prepare for the exam with your videos and study will definitely PASS!

Hello Dr Lee. I followed your video this week and I successfully completed my exam. Thanks you jehovah bless you. But looked for a lot for the feeding and I didn't find it. It was done.
Hi Dr Lee in a situation while you go to the patient dining room and all were served food except a person that is not serve and one of them has 2 plate of food what should I do
Hi Dr. Lee, thank you for your videos they have been so helpful as I prep for my exam this week! Are the oral skills still exempt as of today due to covid?
Thank you Dr Lee for your presentation. I am preparing for State Skills Exam. If i may asked what's 90 degree of raisng the bed for feeding, because my friend failed the feeding test for not raising the bed to 90 degree angle. Please explain. Thank you for well explained video. God bless you.
Hello, I teach my students to raise the head of the bed as HIGH as it will go for the feeding skill. When a patient is at 90 degrees, the patient is in a FULL sitting-up position. This is similar to sitting straight up in a chair.
Hello Zoe, Blood Pressure is not a skill under Prometric. Most healthcare facilities use an automatic blood pressure machine in the healthcare settings.
I watched you video last minute due to working long hours I really did have time to study and practice. On yesterday I passed my skilled exam thanks to your video 🫶🏽
Hello Dr Lee. I like your demonstration it’s very clear. Question do I have to put a barrier on the over bed table? If not if there’s a spill how do I handle that to avoid contamination? Thanks
Hello Rose, For the feeding skill a barrier is not needed for the over bed table. In real life situations, the patient's tray is served on the over bed table. If a spill gets on the table, the students will clean up the spill before the skill is complete. Gloves are not required during this skill.
Hello Dr. Lee, for the Prometric CNA skills exam are we required to ask for the name, date of birth, and wrist band of the resident at the beginning of the skill? Thank you for your help!
Hello Ariana, This is a great question. The answer is NO. Prometric will grade each candidate under Indirect Care (IC) for the following. See the link below. www.prometric.com/sites/default/files/IndirectCareBehaviors.pdf Does the candidate: • Greet resident, address by name, and introduce self? • Provide explanations to resident about care before beginning and during care? • Ask resident about preferences during care? Nothing is listed about the date of birth or wrist band. The reason for this is that not ALL Patients have arm bands. In nursing homes and assisted living facilities we DON'T place arm bands on patients. We identify the patients by their PICTURE.
Dr. Lee thank you so much for sharing your videos. They are a great help for my class. What would you say helps your students best study for the written exam? I have a very high pass rate, but I have a few students who just can’t pass it😢
Hello Cassi, I have a high pass rate for the written exam. Most students with English as a second language may have to take the written exam twice. I refer my students with problems to CNA Plus because the site will give a rationale for the correct answer. cna.plus/
Hi Dr. Lee, which skills are considered mobility vs. ADL skills? Documentation are obviously the ones we measure something, but not sure how the others fall into categories?
Hello Riley, The ASL skill are the one a nurse would be expected to do when caring for a patient. Some examples are brushing the teeth, giving a bath, denture care, making a bed, positioning on the side, and dressing. The mobility skills requires the nurse to move the patient. Some examples would be the ROMs, transfer to a W/C, and ambulation.
Hello Desmond, Prometric does NOT require the student to close the curtain because the average patient is fed in the dining room and not at their bedside.
Hi Dr. Lee, have been watching your videos for days now and i must confess that it's well explained that being to the class. Pls I was told that feeding skill is exempt due to covid. I'm just curious to know if it's true. Thank you so much for your help
Hello Deborah, As of Today, November 21, 2022, the oral skills are still exempt. I don't know how much longer they will be exempt because the COVID restrictions are relaxing in the US.
At the school I went to in Dallas, we could not call the garment protector a bib because they said bibs are for minors, and it could be embarrassing for our residents if staff referred to such as a bib in front of other residents. So to call it a garment protector would be more like for me.

Dr. Lee, I live in Flordia, will I still be able to pass watching your videos?
Hello, If your state tests under Prometric, these videos should help you prepare for the state exam.
Do you have any tips on passing the written I failed mines🙁
Hello, I have my students search for sample test questions with a rationale on RUclips.
Hi dr. Lee they are saying that because of Covid they’re not testing for this skill is that true "
That is correct Ventura. In Texas Prometric is not testing 3 skills due to COVID.

Hi Dr Lee thank you for the video Is the oral skills stil being exempt due to Covid?
Hello Lovelyne, as of today 6-8-2022 in Texas the oral skills are not being tested.
Dr Lee do we leave the table across the patient?
Hello, I have my students move the table to the side and to leave the patient in fowlers position.
Isn’t eating social? Do we really need to close the curtain? Just asked for Clarification?
Hello Caroline, Feeding is one of the skills that Prometric does not require the privacy curtain to be pulled.

Hello Yara,

Hello Dr Lee
Thank you for the video.
Can I move the bedside table when I finish to feed the patient?
Thanks again
At school they told me that this is the only skill that you don't have to provide privacy and here you do close the curtain.
There are other skills that you don't have to provide privacy for.
Feeding
Assist with ambulation
Hand and Nail care
Pulse
Respiration
and Transfers
Is it ok if we do close the curtain during those skills where it’s not necessary?
@@mrs.emmanuelalberto2429I want to know that answer as well
