Teardrop? Unfinished Sympathy?
Symphonic triphop is one of the best forms of music to pass from the 90's into forever.
This specifically is chill af too. The live guitar is awesome. The vocals are epic.
Massive Attack and DJ Shadow are 2 of my favorite artists(and groups) from 90ish to 2k ish.
Love 90s Trip Hop, especially Massive Attack,Portishead, Faithless and Morcheeba.
Great time 😎
I had 2 of their albums "100th window" and "mezzanine" ....I was hooked on it for awhile.
That baseline slithers. I'm convinced that's the right word.
Song takes the bassline from Billy Cobham's Stratus. Great live version.
I think you'd really enjoy Protection by Massive Attack as well. It's in this same vein and one of my favorites. That was a perfect live performance, matched the record so well.
The 90s gift to music.. Trip-hop/Lounge - and I gotta say, the Brits, while they did take influence from us, always raise the bar. They seem to consistently expect more from their audience and never talk down or dumb it down musically. I guess I can only really speak to music through the early 2000s though - I really know artists now. LOL. I'm also reminded that I used to have this disc too (It's from their first album) and must've loaned it or lost it. DANG! Great choice for your reaction.
Massive Attack ,just close your eyes & enjoy the journey
I never heard of this group or this song, but it's got a nice vibe. Reminds me of Loose Ends, Mr. Bachelor, musically.
@@leodejongful Jamiroquai, and Tribe, I know. Both Bomb. I am going to check out the others you mentioned. Thanks!
@@leodejongful I like Morphine! I will
Check out the rest. Thanks again.
@@leodejongful Hey, checked out Brooklyn Funk Essentials, Cool, Steady, and Easy! It's bomb. I like it the best because of the jazz vibe. Feeling it!
Can I recommend Morcheeba, and the song Almost Done.
@@freethinker-- Ok. Will do.
Unfinished sympathy ❤. Btw I love Massive attack and never heard this version. Amazing!!!!
I forgot just how good this song is.
Great pick! 👍
Always loved this song! Great song request & loved the reaction.
Never heard this performance. Was fantastic!
Erika Badu.....would be proud of this band......its got her kind of vibe.....
Or maybe they’d be proud of her given that they preceded her by 7 years :-)
@@adamdodgshon638 You are totally right Adam. I totally forgot that Labelle was doing their thing way before Erikah came on the scene in the 90's....
You have to listen to Protection. Amazing
One of my favourite bands of the 1990s, a fantastic music decade imo. Played this to death back in the day, that bassline just brilliant and the constant repetition must be so difficult to execute.
'Trip hop' is all about the atmospheric, like sound-scapey innit.
Yo Line,.....this song gets my attention because of the fact they're a band. I like the groove of this song and will look a little more deeper into their discography. Thank you.....NML....The groove on this song is just straight up "tight.".......
Had the pleasure of seeing this band live since their first tour to their most recent. They’re amazing. You need to listen to the album/single version though because the original vocalist, Shara Nelson, has such an incredible tone and the song isn’t quite the same without her voice on it. Nothing wrong with this vocalist at all, she’s just not got the same tone which adds to the tension in this song. They used a lot of different lead female vocalists across their albums but kept Horace Andy as the main male singer. Tracey Thorn from Everything But The Girl, Liz Fraser from Cocteau Twins, and Sinead O’Conner are three others they featured on the 3 albums that followed this one (their debut album).
Did you know the male singer is supposed to be Banksy the artist.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Wake, I see your loving it, like I'm loving it......Further research into this band is a must......
@@leroywilliams6380 hey my man how r u? Yea I’m digging it I don’t how their other stuff sounds. I just put in for a movie request my first ever yay! Stay tuned 😁
@@wakeupstopsleeping6300 Yay on the move request Wake. I'm going to check out their other songs just to see if any of their other song will hit me.....I'm always looking for new songs to add to my music collection.
@@leroywilliams6380 yes I'm so excited I came across it on youtube. And I said oh wow it's been years since I seen this. Wanted to request something different but I will go back to doing music. You can never run out of music. I keep discovering stuff I haven't heard or just plain forgot. My catalog of is like 1000 upon 1000 sometimes I can't decide what to request...lol
@@wakeupstopsleeping6300 Fantastic group delve in,you won't be disappointed
