Yeah so I did this and got about lvl25 then started playing story but, now every time i level up my health bar still at lvl25! I'm lvl48 now and still have lvl25 health bar so yeah good on you for commenting (and it might be a bug) but not so good on you for leaving this little detail outtt 😖😖😖
To anyone looking to try this now, if you lure the zombies to the other side of the bed and kick them into the gap between the bed and the wall with the window. If they fall over in that section, it's too narrow for them to stand up so they die instantly. It should save you heaps of time in the early levels
I just found something out you can't max your level out in the beginning because the room with the bed and the narrow gap is on the top floor of the hotel and zombies don't spawn until you get to the bottom floor once you get to the bottom floor you can't go back up unless maybe you save your game first and then restart on the top floor but I don't think zombies ever spawn up there played the game several times and never saw any zombies on the top floor must be some kind of hack or mod to get the zombies to spawn up there
@@nickforest7816 No there's a room with a bed you can stand on on the same floor as the zombies. Spawn the infected, run in the direction you normally would. Before you hit the cutscene, on the left side of the corridor there's a room where a level 20 walker is standing in the doorway. Jump and kick it in the face to knock it down, run into the room. Congratulations you just found a bed
2018 Update: I've just tested it again and it still works. The bed is still safe. On the PS4 at least. Wouldn't recommend using the bathtub, as some have suggested. Note: To respawn the enemies, load your last checkpoint. It says this in the video. Also, you don't have to dedicate the time to getting all the way to max level doing this - you could easily do this for 30 minutes just to give yourself a big headstart for playing normally.
As of Sunday June 17 2018. I am playing this one my Xbox one s and I can confirm that this works. It only levels you up 1 level at a time but it does work
Took me 1h 20m to reach level 30 (394.389 XP). I got all the skills from fury, the first 11 from combat and the first 4 from survival and then the conditioning one all the way. So it still works in 2023, think you can even do it quicker, this was my first try watching this tutorial and playing at the same time. Great video still after 6 years! 👍🏼💯
I legit just found something that can make the start slightly faster. Once on the bed you can kick the zombies into the corner. They instantly die if they land a certain way between the nightstand and closet. With a little testing so far it seems to only work on the female zombies and the old man zombie in the hat.
If u get any zombie on the other side of the bed u can instantly kill any of them and if u get skilled up and get more health u can get all the zombies fast and slow and u can take them back to the elevator and they can boost u into the elevator if u not fast enough to jump in ur self and u can kick them down the hole in the elevator it is fun to do but it not as fast as letting the zombies go to the small side of the bed and lick them in-between the wall and the bed cause that instantly kills everything
You're an absolute legend man. I picked this game back up again in 2021 so I could achievement hunt it, and this will certainly help with that. Amazing video!
If you kill them on the bed in other side the infected will die with 1 hit. It only works with infected and not Walkers... I recently made a video on this.
Besides, head-stomping them is always an option. I used to do that whenever I didn't want to waste the durability of a weapon. That shit had me ending with a shit-ton of weapons that I never got to use beause I outleveled them and all.
This isn’t even remotely an issue. Save a rage once you’re ready to leave the prologue, and use it to kill all the zombies attacking Sinnamoi. After that, just do the quest to find his ID badge in the cabin. Head right at the crossway that says Lifeguard and follow the staircase up. There’s a bar area and inside is a case with a leveled weapon. In the pool with Ted B just outside Sinnamoi’s cabin, there is always a leveled diving knife. Start the second quest for Sinnamoi and follow the path he tells you. Along the way, you’ll find several chests with leveled weapons. After saving the guy in the truck and heading to the water kiosk station, there’s another leveled diving knife. You should have around 7-8 weapons your level by the time you reach the lifeguard station.
if you lure the zombies to the side with the window.... opposite the side you use in the vid, when you jump kick the zombie they die in one shot when they fall between the bed and the window. saves you a lot of time.
June 2020, PS4 Definitive Edition, here to confirm that yes this still works.. The only thing I have noticed however is that OCCASIONALLY, not every time but some times, when you load the last checkpoint the infected won’t spawn. I don’t think it’s anything crazy but if you encounter it, just reload the checkpoint and check again.

Sometimes, kind of rare, but still happens, *zombies will occasionally hop up on the bed with you.* Just make sure you immediately turn around once you're on the bed and be prepared to kick them off or kick them before they can get on. *Any weapons looted will be lost once the prologue ends* but everything else you loot (like money and components will remain). You don't necessarily start with that much of an advantage because *all zombies level as you do and that includes the first zombies you're actually supposed to fight.* So yeah... I hopped out full of myself to save Sinamoi and those zombies humbled me fairly quickly and the paddle was practically useless, Lol. Thank you for this guide. It was awesome and thorough. Very well done.
Thanks for this video! This still works for PS4. I have a few tips that might be helpful. (If you are trying to earn the door breach Trophy) Before going to the elevator, as the game starts after the first cutscene, there is a door at the beginning. As others have mentioned about killing them in front of the curtains, I think the sweet spot is to jump over the bed and align right in front of the nightstand and all the zombies will rush the window side. They will die between the bed, or you kick the zombie on top or under the chair. Instant death. This is great for early rounds. When gathering zombies the first time, all you have to do is wait for the doors to open so back up so you can have more time to focus on running to the door with the zombie. Go down to the other end of the hall the second time and wait until the infected zombies scream. If only one screams then only one runs. You can jump kick one until the others start running. If you want even more points when using rage, gather all three infected zombies with the five in the middle, on the second half. More risky in early rounds. If you do it before running into the doorway, you won't get the additional three infected zombies that spawn at the end of the hall. I've done this method and ranked up a character to level 33 in under 57 minutes.
I'm surprised they didn't fix it but hey it helps get u to max lvl but the zombies will screw u over if u dont get max lvl weapons or weapons that will do high damage
@@vengesama7713 I found out what you are supposed to do is, after you kill all the zombies, you go to the pause screen and press load last checkpoint, it brings back all the zombies and you keep lvls/ skill points
They can’t do anything to fix it; they’re already stronger than you, so I guess this is just if you want to. They didn’t expect new players to do this.
For those that this doesn't work for whatever reason. The room next to this has a door in the hall you can open. Just run their after getting the infected's attention open the door and close it fast. The infected will clip through so you can punch them ( You can kick and jump kick buy it's not reccomended unless your trying to get a single zombie clipping). When you punch them they fall and usually and arm or a leg even a foot is poking through and you can just beat on that until theyre dead. Sometimes they lose interest and go back. But sometimes they lose interest and just stay by the door. You can try opening the door and taking a small step out and closing it again if they're hanging around the door. They might clip through the door this time with how the door pushes them in. Even when you have the stomp it's a bit dangerous cause can be hard to jump kick em down in the hotel. Sam B obviously doesn't have to worry bout that once he has tackle or special attack at the end of his combat tree. I believe it's much faster than what the guy is doing in the video. Maybe not as safe if the pathing and invisible walls work as they should. But you do much more damage. Tho you don't get much fury unless you're purna who specced into kicks for fury (all kick skills affect stomps btw)

It's simple why they can "climb" on the bed.. The collisions when 3-4 of them pile up or tbe infected sprint may cause them to climb on the nearby nightstand and send you straight to hell

Just been doing this glitch for the past 4hours I'm at lvl40 now, and thing have slowed down as we require more xp to upgrade the skills...i played this game like years ago and gave up bcoz it was so hard but now I feel very confident ,,,, no need to be scared anymore lolol. Also I turned off and on the xbox and loaded the game up and I still had all my stuff and it was at the same last check point too which is awesome. So happy it's working....thanks for the video and indept instructions.
So glad you can just save and come back to it the next,,,, bcoz this is taking long ... I'm at lvl45 now and most 90% is maxed out... just need to max the lock pick and weapon deterioration. But just thinking I'm gonna glitch the weapons so who cares about that. Predicting 2hours a day on maybe another few days and player will be maxed. Cant wait to play the story
3rd day in!!!! Probably spent 7hours in this so far I'm lvl50 now, with everything maxed besides 3 skills on survival , I think I'm gonna continue the game now,, I'm only getting 1112xp per kill it's taking way to long. Here goessss
Right I'm going for it getting to lvl51 is a myth!!!! Gonna look for a champagne bottle duplicate it and every bottle you give, you get 1000xp.. just need 800,000 bottle to get to lvl51....then 1million bottles to get to lvl52 !! Lolol
Best way I found to get to level 60 is first yh follow this step get about to level 30 if you like. But if you get the mind-blowing military knife (one of the skull weapons) and use it at the end of the campaign, when you have to kill Ryder White, he dies in one hit. He gives you 17,000 xp and you simply load from last checkpoint and run and stab him again, another 17,000 xp. Just repeat I got from 40 to 60 in about half an hour

Ive got some tall looking zombies all level 51... but when i read the comment that if u level to 60 when u actually start the game your weapons will be low level and you will be fighting lvl 60 zombies. So i assume the zombies level just as you do? I am using logan for the throwing objects and respawning the zombies automatically happens when i walk towards the opposite end (not where you finish the mission) but where the light hangs and come back and the lobby is full again... or ill reload last check point because everytime i level the game auto saves. He does state to reload check point....

Great vid man took me a while to get to 50 and I wasn't paying attention then ran pass the check point but I was content wit 50 I'm at 54 right now about to hit the prison

Thanks for this video, still works and really helpful. Below is the one thing I did differently from the guide which I found to be quite nice and still useful for the gameplay after. With Logan's "Furious Throw" (+30% Rage gain on Throwing Kills) we can get a full charge of the Rage Meter in a single "load last checkpoint". 1 Load to charge it, 1 Load to spend it. Makes for a smoother leveling progress. For me it was an easy choice to remove "Picklock" as I never had good outcomes from it before.

It worked for me! Thank you very much for this. I reached lvl 43 in 2h48m in normal mode, not one punch mode, at PC, definitive edition. It gets really boring, but the reward is awesome. I admit I died once, but other than that, great great "hack".
I only owned a phone until in 2020 so I never knew about this. And I played the game back in 2017 in a computer shop for gamers wanting to hang out and play together. We don't know each other but we still play together. I spent like 3 weeks completing this game. Of course, it's a shop so we pay a dollar to play. It would help the owner so much since he takes care of the 25 complete sets of computers. Each one is assembled by hand by the owner and every part of the computer is a gamers' dream bucket list.
This is a good tactic btw. But it requires some patience since it will gonna take a while before killing your first zombie. Jump-kick does 3 times the damage of a normal kick so it's important to do it to speed the process up some.
Can confirm, still works, but a better method is using the wall to the left of the bed or the chairs in front of it. If you kick them under the chairs or against the left wall, the location would make it impossible for them to stand up and instakills them, much faster than taking 2 minutes a piece to kick them each to death
Been doing this from PS3 disk to definitive edition PS4 and the zombies always find a way up the Bed either from Infront besides or behind me if I'm facing the window lol. Crazy how this still works
15 hours for level 60 :\ in all honesty you're better off going to the hotel complex getting champagne and duping it and handing in the quest, max level within an hour or less. Ofc that's legit vs not. also after 15 hours of normal game play a normal person would be pretty far into the game at 15 hours :\.

My ps3 with dead island finaly died when I tryed to play skyrim so my 3750 hrs of skyrim are gone and my dead island maxed out Logan so I will be doing this whith the xbox
This still works :P Someone's probably already pointed this out, but if you stand on the left side of the bed (near the window) and knock enemies down that walk near the side of the bed. When standing up the window instantly kills them. Speeds the process up a little towards the start.
Wish I focused on Fury on my first and ongoing playthrough. Have never used it as of now since I haven't invested points in Fury so my Fury meter has never gone up fully. And I am on chapter 13 or so and lvl 29. Gotta create a new character on the side and experiment a little bit.

If you can get the zombies to right side of the bed (where the window/blinds are) and kick them over, they'll instantly die and it'll still give you all the xp
If you get the zombies into the left side of the bed and kick them over they will die, you will get the kill and exp. This should help in the beginning when you have no damage and no stomp skill

I can confirm that it doesn't work anymore. There were some times where i stayed at the same level even after killing a zombie.

Technically it is the fastest way for riptide as well since if u have a lvl 60 character on dead island you can use transfer them over to riptide
You can do all this but then when you start the game you'll be stuck with 25 damage weapons against level 60 zombies, lmao.

They might clip through the door this time with how the door pushes them in. Even when you have the stomp it's a bit dangerous cause can be hard to jump kick em down in the hotel. Sam B obviously doesn't have to worry bout that once he has tackle or special attack at the end of his combat tree. I believe it's much faster than what the guy is doing in the video. Maybe not as safe if the pathing and invisible walls work as they should. But you do much more damage. Tho you don't get much fury unless you're purna who specced into kicks for fury (all kick skills affect stomps btw)

watch out for the infected or walkers that seem taller than normal. they can jump on the bed with you and cause some damage.

That may be a reason, why these infected or walkers killed me first with both times, when I tried that.
It's either when they go to the end of the bed or one of other walkers boosts them up, that's the only way they can get up
It's simple why they can "climb" on the bed.. The collisions when 3-4 of them pile up or tbe infected sprint may cause them to climb on the nearby nightstand and send you straight to hell

Just been doing this glitch for the past 4hours I'm at lvl40 now, and thing have slowed down as we require more xp to upgrade the skills...i played this game like years ago and gave up bcoz it was so hard but now I feel very confident ,,,, no need to be scared anymore lolol. Also I turned off and on the xbox and loaded the game up and I still had all my stuff and it was at the same last check point too which is awesome. So happy it's working....thanks for the video and indept instructions.
So glad you can just save and come back to it the next,,,, bcoz this is taking long ... I'm at lvl45 now and most 90% is maxed out... just need to max the lock pick and weapon deterioration. But just thinking I'm gonna glitch the weapons so who cares about that. Predicting 2hours a day on maybe another few days and player will be maxed. Cant wait to play the story

Found out that if you get them to go on the other side of the bed and kick them. It instant kills them when they fall into that window.

this is crazy man its taken me like 2 playthrus to get to max level sometimes 3 ur a legend
Best way I found to get to level 60 is first yh follow this step get about to level 30 if you like. But if you get the mind-blowing military knife (one of the skull weapons) and use it at the end of the campaign, when you have to kill Ryder White, he dies in one hit. He gives you 17,000 xp and you simply load from last checkpoint and run and stab him again, another 17,000 xp. Just repeat I got from 40 to 60 in about half an hour

Ive got some tall looking zombies all level 51... but when i read the comment that if u level to 60 when u actually start the game your weapons will be low level and you will be fighting lvl 60 zombies. So i assume the zombies level just as you do? I am using logan for the throwing objects and respawning the zombies automatically happens when i walk towards the opposite end (not where you finish the mission) but where the light hangs and come back and the lobby is full again... or ill reload last check point because everytime i level the game auto saves.

Below is the one thing I did differently from the guide which I found to be quite nice and still useful for the gameplay after.
With Logan's "Furious Throw" (+30% Rage gain on Throwing Kills) we can get a full charge of the Rage Meter in a single "load last checkpoint". 1 Load to charge it, 1 Load to spend it. Makes for a smoother leveling progress. For me it was an easy choice to remove "Picklock" as I never had good outcomes from it before.

It worked for me! Thank you very much for this. I reached lvl 43 in 2h48m in normal mode, not one punch mode, at PC, definitive edition. It gets really boring, but the reward is awesome. I admit I died once, but other than that, great great "hack".
I only owned a phone until in 2020 so I never knew about this. And I played the game back in 2017 in a computer shop for gamers wanting to hang out and play together. We don't know each other but we still play together. I spent like 3 weeks completing this game. Of course, it's a shop so we pay a dollar to play. It would help the owner so much since he takes care of the 25 complete sets of computers. Each one is assembled by hand by the owner and every part of the computer is a gamers' dream bucket list.

How did you get your fury multiplier to x4 with just 4 kills?? I kill like 10 of them in that area and get to x3 only
This is a good tactic btw. But it requires some patience since it will gonna take a while before killing your first zombie. Jump-kick does 3 times the damage of a normal kick so it's important to do it to speed the process up some.
Can confirm, still works, but a better method is using the wall to the left of the bed or the chairs in front of it. If you kick them under the chairs or against the left wall, the location would make it impossible for them to stand up and instakills them, much faster than taking 2 minutes a piece to kick them each to death

Been doing this from PS3 disk to definitive edition PS4 and the zombies always find a way up the Bed either from Infront besides or behind me if I'm facing the window lol. Crazy how this still works
15 hours for level 60 :\ in all honesty you're better off going to the hotel complex getting champagne and duping it and handing in the quest, max level within an hour or less. Ofc that's legit vs not. also after 15 hours of normal game play a normal person would be pretty far into the game at 15 hours :\.

Someone's probably already pointed this out, but if you stand on the left side of the bed (near the window) and knock enemies down that walk near the side of the bed. When standing up the window instantly kills them. Speeds the process up a little towards the start.

Wish I focused on Fury on my first and ongoing playthrough. Have never used it as of now since I haven't invested points in Fury so my Fury meter has never gone up fully. And I am on chapter 13 or so and lvl 29. Gotta create a new character on the side and experiment a little bit.

If you can get the zombies to right side of the bed (where the window/blinds are) and kick them over, they'll instantly die and it'll still give you all the xp

Such an under rated game
If you get the zombies into the left side of the bed and kick them over they will die, you will get the kill and exp. This should help in the beginning when you have no damage and no stomp skill
