I much prefer the look of the saloon to the hatchback, it is much more elegant and less fussy. Thanks for this review from a true Civic expert, I gather!

Prefer the saloon rear end to the hatch version, it looks better resolved and quite classy. Pity the 1.5 petrol engine isnt an option or I’d buy one!

It’s available with 1,5L petrol in Sweden also. The emissions is usually regulated per country

That's weird. The combination of saloon and 1.5 is available in France and probably in other european markets.

Well, it seems the Civic Saloon is more or less an indirect replacement of the Accord which was discontinued in the UK. As for a Type R saloon, as long as it doesn't have an over the top rear spoiler like the hatchback then maybe it could work. They did a Type R version of the Accord so why not?

    Ray Hunt
Had my Civic 1.0 CVT SR for a year now and still loving it.Usually getting itchy feet to change my car by now but think I will stick to this car for another year or so and see what my very helpfull Honda dealer has in stock.
Quite fancy the saloon the 1.0 is fast enough for me, would go for nearly new I saved 7000 pounds on my SR with upgraded 18" Apollen wheels which look great and the Black pack side skirts.

Great Video Review. Yes I would like a Civic Type R Saloon. Most buyers will still prefer the Hatchback

I'm very keen to test drive one of these, it feels like my kind of car, i've wanted to buy a Civic for a while, but I wanted to buy one that's a bit less 'loud' than the sportier models and all of the body kitted versions. Thanks

This is the first time I have liked the Civic - shame very little choice of engines.

    Reviewers: Get the 1.5 turbo!
Real world: The 1.5 turbo has a design fault that causes problems with oil dilution
Turbos are superfluous garbage on a daily driver, commuter car, that just drive up maintenance cost and lower the engine's life expectancy.
