Quite the intense week, congrats on staying in vault of hell, *cough* sorry heaven. Tbh last light/dark season wasn't bad for me. With my fallen Julia + spring Catria combination I can mix phase most teams/units. I will say this, if you can find room for a ruse skill and a way to trigger it, it really helps a lot, especially with all those stupid specials running around (looks at legendary byleth, Sigurd etc). Hope your astra season was better than mine, it went fine up until the last day, but luckily for me I had 2 easier rematches I could fall back on. Barely missed tier 39 (by 8 lift, and I had a flawless defense score until the last defense match....) But I stayed in the vault.
yeah, didn't use a single ladder this astra season, big difference to last week xD. I actually think it all came down to this 1 day. Losing 3 matches in a row was really tough and knowing I had no ladders left kinda threw me overboard for the rest of the week. Rewatching this I see soo many mistakes I usually don't make. You have to be in the right place mentally to make AR work xDD

There are some interesting matches here. Match 8, the reason why Ophelia moved before Tethys (both having an assist) is something I've noticed in Arena too. The enemy closest to the foes would move first. Because Ophelia was closer to Vika, she moved first. And interestingly, it doesn't account for the movement type. I've seen in Arena duo Lif moving after a range infantry just because that infantry was closer. Match 11, that vantage play was well done really. Also, to answer your question. Nott rally first instead of L!Sigurd (both being equal in terms of bonus stats provided with their rally, it's a draw; slot order plays a significant role too but since we generally don't know which slots they belong to, I leave it out of the equation here) because she was further away from any foe. Sigurd was obviously closer to Micaiah than Nott was. I learned this after playing Arena a lot. It's written in the AI guide, but sometimes I find it difficult to read (probably because of the language used, or perhaps I'm just worse in english than I thought). For once, I read that it said priority was given to the rallier closer to the foe. This has cost me two or three matches in arena and thus tons of crests. So after that I paid really attention by observing who moves/rallies first, their position etc. You can test those interactions in a dummy AR defense map you create. Place a cav frontline, a rallier behind, and a second rallier adjacent to the first rallier, the second rallier usually moves first if you stay still. I check interaction sometimes this way. Match 12. Someone at reddit posted his AR-D that he tested for the first time. 3 +10 Fallen Edelgard with 3 anima mythics (Thrasir, Duma, Seiros, Spring duo Myrrh). He lost 10 times and only win once. He said they all attacked him with Micaiah (5 times), or basic tanking (savior etc). It seems some people in VoH are already fulled prepared. They know the meta. Speaking of Micaiah, she's along with Guinivere the reason I stopped using duo Lif. Each time they attack me with her or Guinivere, and Lif, Selena and S!Lilina can't survive. So I'm re-using S!Mia, her dmg reduction helps a lot, she kills what she needs to kill (also good vs Henriette). She's interesting as being anti meta. People expect seeing duo Lif, but not S!Mia.
so many thanks for all the information ^^ it's certainly good to refresh AI knowledge once in a while. I saw the reddit post but didn't read it, I assumed it was phrased poorly and he had actually 10 victories, I'm surprised it did that bad. I use Micaiah a lot, but I don't trust her against Edelgard without the bolt trap or tower.

I could easily destroy F!Edelgard with Micaiah if Miracle is ready, but to destroy 3 of them with Micaiah alone is impossible. Unless I have some sort of healing (but then I need breath effects etc to trigger Miracle fast against the others). I just had a few minutes ago my most difficult match I ever had in the Vault, it's even worse than anything I have seen before. I did a hit and run with Ullr (Sorcery Blade) but the map was made in such a way that you need to have a good knowledge on the priority of the assister. AR-D spd/def on Nott was mean. I could barely double her with my Freyja. So I killed B!Hector with Ullr by targetting Nott, then placed Eir lane 3 at starting row so as to force Sigurd to move to the left, since there are less enemy threat, that was obvious. Problem is that I have to threaten Sigurd with Eir, or else, Nott moves, danced, and I'm dead. So, Sigurd being threatened means that someone would use repositional assist. Eirika (swap) and Bramimond/Caeda (Reposition). If Eirika used swap, I would be dead. But one of the rules with positional assists are : (lowest) distance between assister and target (highest) distance from enemy and (lowest?) slot order. The distance is equal for everyone, it's a draw. Distance is obviously Bramimond being further away due to his lower movement compared to the cavs. I don't know the slot order component, but there was definitely a chance Bramimond moved first. I won after that. It's scary we have to read so much the AI just to get a win.
Your videos are awesome! I guess those boards on each side of the screen with characters of the match might take some time of editing (especially in a video with that many matches), but they provide the information we need to analyze things while watching. And those rounded pics moving, simulating your thoughts, they're exactly what every AR-O video needs! Congratulations on your great work, and we'll played!
Eir is nearly 3 years old and she has had the same weapon for all this time... it doesnt surprise me you forgot about that part of her weapon since eir either oneshots a weakened enemy or gets oneshot back most of the time since she's so frail... if she enters combat at all, that is
Close to dropping? Nah, I knew you would make it even if there were some questionable plays there in both Part 1 and 2. I was indeed closer to dropping though. I was just one defense loss that counted away from dropping. Even a -1 win from an opponent against my defense was more than enough. I was lucky to not get hit and lose thus I stayed. And at least you have Dagr. :P My last day during the second week of Ullr was literal hell. I had not lost any ladders. All gone within that last day. The only thing I am envious about are all those F!Edel matchups. Arden would have loved to destroy them in my case. :P
that sounds very harsh, I'm sorry! well, my defense luckily was nearly perfect that week, so I knew that I could also accept victories with lost units once I was out of ladders, but I am stupid proud and just don't want that xD But yeah, last light season I just wasn't in top shape ^^ and I guess everyone has kinda their own demons. I for example can't get enough matches with L!Sigurd as my Micaiah easily smashes him, but I still don't have a good answer for armorballs for example, mostly because 5 teams just don't make you bring a counter to everything ^^
Congrats on surviving that week! Hopefully you won't ever need this advice again, but if you find yourself out of ladders again make sure to remove the ladder structure from your bottom row so you have more space to hide :P

"Two Fallen Edelgard and three mythic heroes?" I wonder how you'd do against my light season defense. It's one Fallen Edelgard and five mythic heroes. It has gotten a perfect -0 the last two weeks in a row so far. Everyone struggles to get past that effective 86 defense and the setup is immune to Bolt Towers.
interesting. Ever since that issue I gave my Corrin Pulse Smoke, so I really wonder how she would deal against your Edelgard. without Bonfire I can easily tank two hits from Fedel, making her eat 3 hits from corrin without damage reduction, one of them likely empowered by Corrins special...
Actually, I think I figured it out. Based on other comments, sing still counts as assist, so Reyson moves before Nott because he is closer due to his 3 movement. However, if Reyson was not transformed, then the tie would have been settled by slot order, which potentially could have been the end of Lyon.
I am honestly not sure. I think Sing still counts as sing, he just doesn't find targets. So he is still prioritized, but dancers who don't find targets for their assists just move, right? I don't know, I thought I knew about AI movement, but I clearly don't xD
This week I had no ladders left and was going to fall out of Vo Hell- I mean Heaven either way due to a bad def week, so I said F it and didn't do yesterday's and today's matches. AR stressed me enough already so I wouldn't give it yet another chance to ruin my day.
that's a good decision to be honest. I sometimes feel this way in arena, I used to be in tier 20.5 for a long time till suddenly staying in tier 20 became a problem, so instead of redoing that crap again I just decided to drop into tier 19 and be fine with it.
@@Eldervi Yeah I can relate to that, specially since Arena stopped being fun some time ago. And same with Arena Assault, that game mode needs better rewards and something that makes it more bearable.

Does Reyson move at 8:31 before Nott because sing takes priority over movement assists?
