as i understood while mining there is no grout pumping around precast wall. otherwise you cant move precast easily or you can brake somewhere.
The swept survace of the rotating cutters does not cover the whole face of the TBM so it will not work. But maybe the animation is simplyfied and does not show all cutting elements.
Or is it only for soft soil and not rock? In that case I guess it can be pusched through the parts of soil that is not cut.

Has anyone ever been inside an Appalachian coal mine? Coal mines are excavated with a Cylinder that rotates perpendicular to the wall, leaving a rectangle shaped cut, complete with 90° corners.

That's an awful lot of weight to push, and scraping along something will get damaged or a cave-in will happen.
Yes. Also heave equipment sinks into soil and there is no way to steer this thing upward.
@@dangi12012 perhaps they grout ahead of the machine? Or there could be cylinders between the two shields, youd be a moron to start a tunnel and just expect it to drive straight and true

How will the intermediate jack be removed after the tunneling work is done?
They aren't, they're left underground in the retracted position

Friction while under pressure and let not forget you need more reinforcement for rectangular rather than cylindrical tunnel.
