I am glad that your decision to rest and reset this summer has paid off with a renewed creative vigor. So many of us here use our creativity to renew us from our daily jobs but when your job and business is being creative it can be very challenging to pivot from the business grind into the experimental intuitive play. I think your sketchbook has maybe been the key to that lock and I am here for it! For your Holiday sale I was thinking brush rests which could be slab made and are great stocking stuffers for those painters who are hard to buy for... like me 😁
That’s a good point about being a professional artist - sometimes it is challenging to play instead of looking at each thing through a business lens. But I’m finding my balance bit by bit. So glad you enjoyed this vlog - next week is another goodie creatively that I hope you’ll watch :) The sketchbook has been a big key, as sketchbooks tend to be. Ironically, I was coming on here to tell you that my postcards arrived. I am so gratefully they are so so vibrant and the cardstock you use is amazing quality. Made it all the way to Australia without being bent or beat up which is amazing so thank you again for your generosity. Oh, and I saw you writing my thank you card too 🤩 Loving this new experimental sketch book vibe you had going on, especially the vase of flowers experiments. Great vlog can't wait to see more of the New Fiona Era. Love seeing you are settling into your new space and taking care of yourself and would love to see you get to 100k and get a silver play button from You Tube for your studio wall. 🤗

It’s definitely a hurdle I need to overcome. I’ve done a sticker pack and a postcard set before, but never art prints. I’d like to explore that more in this new phase of my biz :) You know yall will hear all about it on here whenever I do! Haha :)

I love the sketchbook vases!!! I love the collaging with your own work! Heck yes! I love the revitalized creative energy in the studio! Watching this video makes my fingers itch for studio play time! I think the coloured pencil will work very well as textural accent on top of colour flats it will make it pop. :)

And let me tell ya...after a few hours of working in class on & learning new Macs & illustrator..I slept hard in last night 🤣

Hi feef! I love seeing Zelda she's adorbs. I'm working on paper now using colored pencil and really being aggressive with them layering and creating colorful works. It's just been fun seeing what I can manage to do really grinding in pigment in the tooth of the paper. My hands are sore sometimes I go hard 😂 but the result is so satisfying
Zelda says woof aka hi lol ;) I love the idea of being aggressive with the coloured pencil and really leaving a mark. I think I’ll need to follow your lead and just go for it :) The sore hands tho oof!

As to the "original art" i think just like we are as people,our art will be a mosiac of all the art n artists we have seen. I guess some are really good at copying and they have the art of copying😅 and as long as making art is doing its thing to the artist and they are content then that's all it matters. I love the blooms art but i was wondering how sea/ocean would look like in your artworks🤔🤩.. Such a calm and colourful vlog, thanks for these long form videos❤ Take care
