Most people here are overlooking the material it is made of. It's not canvas, or wood, it is a high grade material with double layers to insulate. The outside is aluminum that won't rust and you can keep it outdoors all year round as it is sealed tight. Not too mention the superior flooring, bedding, storage and utilities. You get what you pay for!
Hooooly hell, he just said "high 20s" in a 2 years old video so I'm sure it's 30-40 now with the boom on RVs. Yea this needs to be like 15k like you said.
Wow, that's probably the most innovative off the ground tent, great for Jeepers or ppl that don't need a lot just somewhere dry to sleep. The price is IMO steep. If he said like 15 I'd say that seems fair.
This is like most other cool RVs I see today. It looks like something you could enjoy with all the right features. Then you get all interested and possibly think about buying one. Then you check the price. Then you dig your trusty dome tent out of the shed again and toss it in the truck and think of all the money you just saved that you can now travel and explore with.
This is exactly what I was thinking. The company that can come up with something innovative for under 10k will sell a lot more. Even if I had the money to blow for this, I wouldnt.
I just ordered a rav4 hybrid- taxes in 40k Canadian. With conversion this thing would set me back another 30k-35k Canadian. Wtf is this pricing. $200 tent it is.
It is a high price, but people are spending insane amounts of money for overlanding SUVs like the Jeep gladiator. This thing looks like it was made to trail behind one of those. People will buy it, especially if it fits in the average garage.
this unit would also be great temporary housing for places such as California for displaced fire victums who have lost everything. Great job. : ) peace
It's innovative, for sure. For me, the windows are too few and too small. I love the windows in a pop up, so much connection to the outdoors. Without those, it isn't fore me, but best to you.
This guy is the perfect salesman. He wastes no time. Catches himself early going into a mistake early. Almost goes to setup the a/c unit, remembers he’s on camera and stops. Goes back to talking about the product. Immediately goes to the next model showing what’s being talked about.
For the people saying this is too expensive for what it is, what are some alternatives that are the same size and weight? From my research, this is one of the only towable trailers that 1) is 1500 lbs or less, 2) can fit into a parking garage stall, and 3) sleeps 5+ people. Are there other options out there?
With some negotiation you should expect to get 20% - 30% off MSRP. So if MSRP is $28,500 - 25% = $21,375. Most smaller trailers have a following that keeps the resale prices high.....
I saw one being pulled today and had to look it up. I like that a small car can pull it and it stores easily. A lot of RV owners have to rent a storage space.
Your right. I have never seen anything like that. However most will find that price about $ 3000 too high. Hardcore middle of no where campers mostly, will be the buyers. Pair with Jeep Wrangler.
2022 - It ranges from $18k-$25k, It doesn't require a big truck (an additional $40k-$OofK), or a truck at all, to tow it, and you can store it in most garages rather than having to pay for storage. While this isn't for everyone, you have got to admit this opens up camper comfort for a lot of people who wouldn't have access before.
This might be perfect for my family. We enjoy tent camping and are looking at going to an RV. Problem is there are 6 of us which makes finding a tow vehicle that is capable of pulling a good size RV but also fits all of us comfortably a bit of a challenge. This could be pulled by our minivan and stored in the garage. But for $25 to $30K I’m just not sure that would be that much better than our tents.
Check out a TrailManor. Can be pulled by a minivan with a 3500lbs tow rating and lots of sleeping room. Also with the folding hitch, it can fit into any standard garage at 18ft long. The 2518KB has the most sleeping room.
Reminds me of the many unique RV designs in Australia. Now if you go to Australia you’ll likely see things you’ve never thought of. This would fit inside my toyhauler.
Would be perfect for Australian conditions, like Tasmania where it could get very cold, and to travel to Queensland or the Territory. It can go anywhere and is self-contained, it has all the pluses. The cost price would match what similarly designed products cost Down Under.
Cool design and idea, but for what you get for the "high 20's" it's too pricey. There are lots of other options that are much better for that kind of money.
Yeah was thinking like low teens would sell a lot better but I liked it a lot. Would be a cool quick setup for your backyard when you get extra guests that come over.
Talonpilot it will go down if they release a newer, different model or if it doesn’t sell. It’s a nice adventure camper, I’d pay into the teens for a new one. The toy haulers on the sides impressed me.
Projected business model: About 100 units at this insane price point. Sales will dry up as fools exit the market. Company sells off inventory at half off. Company shuts down. Second-hand market sales start. Price drops to $5,000 within 5 years.
WOW!!! Super impressive. I have been camping from tent to RV and combos in between and NEVER seen the innovation and head space packed into this. The price point is phenomenal. I'd love to do this with a North, South combo (High Desert Dweller with temp swings from 5 to 105 across the year) and composting toilet. This is amazing! Thanks for the look at this!!!
I've got a 12 man tent, with a Mr buddy heater when I need it, I haul it in my kayak in the bed of my truck. Paid less than $ 150.00 at academy 15 years ago for it. Still holding up strong, been in all kinda weather with it. Still no leaks are holes in it. Good luck saleing those for 30 k I'd buy a four wheel camper and set in on my truck. Hell for 12 k you can get the model m with a king size bed. Which I think is overpriced but it's also all aluminum frame. Yeah good luck with this tent.
I'm glad to see that most people agree with me that the prices on most of these small campers/trailers is just way too high. People want simple, well built, reasonable cost campers and not these flashy, unique, every single bell and whistle campers.
Douglas Goldstein So, you’re saying “Make something that everyone else already makes.” I appreciate them swinging for the fences right out of the gate.
I see everyone flipped at the cost but honestly it's what these low production light weight units go for. The cricket trex you see in the background has a big following and they cost around $28-30K new. What confuses me is this niche market relies 100% on the adventure hipster club yet that the trailer doesn't look rugged and ground clearance is just average. So what you have is a trailer that really isn't suited for campgrounds and not really designed to be bounced around on off-road trails. The biggest design flaw is usability, minimal storage and no access to the storage it does have in travel. So you have a small car/SUV to pull this thing everything you need is shuttled from car to trailer and back again each time you move and that assumes you have the space in the car to begin with.
That is really cool! I really like it and the price compared to other tent campers is good. Key for me, it has AC! A must have in the desert southwest.
Very interesting Where does everything in that goes in side go - so not only do you need to set up but also carry everything from the tow vehicle to put inside then back again. Ok I guess if you staying longer periods but not something you would want to use if you are doing long trips and stopping each night. Cheers
Sorry to complain, but the only real advantage this has is it fits in a garage and is light weight. thats not worth the $20k + price tag. Get the price down and then you are definitely a market leader and innovator.
Pretty cool but for the weekender that would be wanting one that size I really think the price is a lil high. Don't get me wrong I really like the way it's made
Super Innovative. Nice job! Love the nose cone idea. I'd offer that adjustable axel on only the fully loaded model. Not a lot of info on how much bedding/pillows/mattress you can load into the folds. Honestly they could really get away with making a mini version too. Keep it under $14k and you might wipe out most of the teardrop market.
Who would EVER be STUPID enough to buy a car, boat or RV brand new ? Quite freaking out about the price - what a year or two and see what they go for used !
That's a pretty sweet camper for sure. And he's right, a medium sized four wheeler could easily pull that thing. I know I worked on a Family Friend's Cherry Orchard and they had special trailers designed to pull the big bins of cherries through the narrow rows of the orchard and they would weigh upwards of 1,500 pounds and we'd tow them down the road a couple miles at 20-30 mph pretty easy. And they've lasted 10+ years doing that, even after crashing a couple times lol. So yeah that thing would be really cool to have. And I hate to be that guy, but 20-30k for one? I'm sure once they start selling a bunch of them and can get their manufacturing processes down and buy in more bulk to bring the price down it'll help. But, if cost wasn't an issue I would give them a 12 out of 10 stars for their design and features and ability to literally take it anywhere you want. Here in Montana, there's a lot of ATV only trails that this thing would be perfect to take on and go be away from all humans for a couple days or weeks. One thing, if he's reading this, is if you want to market it to people for four wheelers and side by sides, maybe look into a way to attach a couple gas cans on one of your side racks or something for extra fuel so if someone wants to go spend a week out in the woods they can have maybe 15 extra gallons on them at a time. Also, you have to think, how great would this thing be in a zombie or end of the world apocalypse? Just hook up with a side by side or four wheeler and go out in the middle of no where with a solar panel and no one will ever find you if you're smart about it. I'm gonna have to go steal one of these if zombies come, lol.
I don't get the adjustable axle thing that no other trailer seems to need. I wonder if the weather sealing is any better than the A shape pop ups. You don't really get much for such a high price tag.
The problem with all the tiny campers you see that have all the clever innovation and engineering is that for the same price you can buy a 30 foot travel trailer which narrows the market for these geeky little sardine cans down to the hippies who have sworn to only drive a Prius
Very innovative, and I understand lightweight is $. No offense to this specific manufacturer, but RV folks are delusional with their prices imo. If I can renovate a 2/1 house with new (studs out) kitchen, bath and HVAC for less than $20k in about a month, what do you think someone like me could do with a $3K cargo trailer and $10K for the build out? (hint: a VERY nice unit with full bath and kitchen)
@ Big Truck Big RV This is what I was looking for. Is there any chance, that I can buy it in Central Euroe? This would be erfect for my Mitsubishi outlander phev, silent off road adventur. Can it remain under 750kg to not have to braked?
People who are offroading/overlanding are going to be fine bringing a tent or sleeping in their jeeps/trucks with portable sinks and stoves. A Prius owner won't spend 30k on this - a Tesla owner might, but they're just going to get a Class C or buy a converted van. That's my two cents - and I live in an RV full time - around this stuff a lot. Cool product, but not for that price.
Most people here are overlooking the material it is made of. It's not canvas, or wood, it is a high grade material with double layers to insulate. I can understand people balking at the price but I can see myself buying one in the near future. Love this.
While that is a very clever and innovative design I cannot imagine paying that kind of money. Quite honestly I would expect this to be under 15k.
Hooooly hell, he just said "high 20s" in a 2 years old video so I'm sure it's 30-40 now with the boom on RVs. Yea this needs to be like 15k like you said.
@@rkalla I just checked. Prices are the same today, and maybe a little cheaper with discounts, as 2 years ago.
the idea that you can hook that up to a side by side and head into the bush is really appealing
Wow, Genius, It's re- thinking trailers, folding them inside out, very savvy. Yes.
My tent is $14 and I can put it in my car when folded. I don't have to have a trailer to move it.
Yeesh! People complaining about the price! Then don't buy it. I like it- very high tech- and that axle is awesome!
Do you have any idea what kind of simple pop-up you can find for that???? Or a truck with a slide in !!!
High 20’s???? Forget it. The thing is an oversized tent.

Wow, that's probably the most innovative off the ground tent, great for Jeepers or ppl that don't need a lot just somewhere dry to sleep. The price is IMO steep. If he said like 15 I'd say that seems fair.
Try building one for 15k, you can’t do it. I guess you want these manufacturers to work for free. 😫
