don't listen to that other guy. Solar panels and electric vehicles are great for the environment. not when they are built, but within 1-3 years of operation they are then better than the alternative due to their operational consumption. that said, solar panels on it while folded up would be cool but... then when you unfold it those panels would be pointed at the ground and useless. Solar panels are a slow and steady (hare, not tortoise) energy generator. The amount you produce while driving to your destination would be very little compared to what you produce over the weekend (or more) while you are at your destination. So the panels would be better put to use on the deployed cabin than the folded trailer. It would be ideal if the panels were then movable between the two locations. But then that creates its own issues of making an easily usable and very lightweight (too heavy and the added towing weight negates the point) mount for the panels that will hold them tight at highway speeds. I love the idea but I think until panels become cheap enough (and they will eventually) to permanently mount some on the folded trailer and use others when deployed, this idea won't pan out.
@@gregnoel8779 ha you completely invalidate your argument with your second sentence. You can’t cherry pick not including major parts of the carbon footprint for electric vehicles. 🤣😂🤣
Compliments on such a well filmed and edited the video. I really like this pop-up trailer and think the price is fair. If I were towing it with a truck I would bring along extra panels to extend the table and deck space as well to bring a good size mattress to put inside. Perhaps part two of this design could be a list of recommendations of what the people could bring whether they’re towing it with a wagon, SUV, pick up etc. overall I think it’s great design, well thought out and reminds me of the old tent cabins. I’m curious if you have a schedule of events where you will be exhibiting this trailer. Perhaps at RV shows or campground rallies? I’m sure if I buy one I will be towing it in a small pick up truck or a Subaru outback. I’ve traveled with the show cars before so I know That having one of these in a campground it would be a conversation piece and sometimes annoying with everyone having honest-to-goodness questions about it. Best wishes to the designers & thinkers/builders of this cool camp trailer!
I'm not a fan of pop ups but I see the point in overall the design. I do question the cooler behind the power box with outlets facing up though. Seems like a good way to drip into an expensive electronic item.
one might think. but that thinking is based on coolers full of ice. These are basically DC powered refrigerators. We currently use one in our camping set up (different brand) and I cant see any possibility of liquid dripping from it unless it were turned upside down. Given the space confines in there, the only way thats gonna happen is if your trailer is also upside down. then you have bigger problems to worry about. :-D
I'm currently looking at buying a used one and the gosun battery is missing. I'm looking at a Bluetti AC200L battery to replace it. It has nearly twice the capacity and can handle 4 times the solar input (as long as youve got enough panel) so these problems are solvable. There is also additional under deck storage that could probably hold another cooler, or could be stowed in the triangle when folded up. That could become your drink fridge or whatever youre willing to keep outdoors while camping. The upgraded battery would then be available to power it.
I love the interior living space height. I just wish it had a toilet and shower for my wife. She isn’t as outdoorsy as me so she needs some glamping gear to be happy.

For $34,000 you could purchase a small piece of property and have enough left over for an RPod to take to the property. Gosun completely missed the mark here with the design, setup time and lots of pieces that can easily be lost making setup problematic. If this had been around in the 70’s or 80’s, it would have been cutting edge at that time. In todays times with the advancement of battery tech and builds for Sprinter vans, there’s less than 15min of setup time before you are relaxing on vacation. The Gosun is like setting up a giant tent- both set up and take down will take hours away from your vacation.
