I love spice but I also appreciate super simple food so I think Colombian food fits me. If I want something different I can cook or go to an international restaurant, simple.

The Colombian food is not bland. It's just not spicy. It has healthy, natural tasty flavor and has good sazon. That's different.
We can always add chimichurri or aji.

Broooo! You need to try out my friends restaurant in Medellin. It’s called La Jalapeña. It’s Mexican cuisine. It’s really good. But on a side note I love the mondongo soup. It’s the best!

It is a very good lunch for the price. I am not sure what would mix well with the juice, maybe vodka.

Your typical food in Colombia is terrible. Lots of carbs and fried foods. On the other hand you can go to grocery stores and get a wide variety of fruits and vegetables so you can cook at home and eat very well. And very inexpensively. Hope to see you on September 2nd and have a beer. I bought a ticket on Spirit from Boston to Medellin for 48 bucks one way
Wow! That is super cheap! I hope these prices stay this way for a while. We will see. Yes, you are right, they use too many carbs and like to fry many things. And in the store you can buy very good quality ingredients for super cheap and cook at home. I mostly eat meat, chicken, fruits, and veg at home. Like to get out for a better cooked meal once in a while (I get bored with my simple cooking sometimes. lol)
I agree, Colombian food tends to be bland. It doesn't have the same depth or complexity as Mexican food. It's still good though and it isn't as processed as the food here in the States. A question for you Dave. Are the restaurants in Medellin doing takeout only? ( I notice you have a table.)

Places that passed the inspections and follow the rules are now allowed to have people in on limited capacity
I’d imagine such local food is less processed and full of chemicals than US food.
That is very true!! it is rare that I get that gross feeling when I over eat here. I think the body just digest the food here better, or something. Because of less chemicals.
@@LifewithDavid Yes sir! We can all love the USA, but the US food chain is full of junk. I think you can eat healthier in places like Colombia. The locals probably use ingredients that are "closer to the earth."

The lunch options in Colombia are very inexpensive as you say. The two things that are lacking for my German-American wife is the lack of salad choices and also the downright pitiful dessert options. Whenever I take her to Medellin, she knows she won't be eating salads like we are accustomed in the states and also she won't be having the type of rich dessert options you get in the states and also Germany. Stay safe! Keep the great content coming!
Yes, i was missing delicious salads too when i first came here. But now just used to it. It's not part of their culture to have massive salads. There are some restaurants that specialize in salads here though.
Beans are not carbs they are protein, and I miss my Colombian food so much.
I miss Colombian food too when i travel. Beans do have carbs, plus protien and fiber. A good balance food. 👍😋

I think it works out pretty well to have short videos also . So you can focus on an specific theme . That can be used in food , but also when for example you visit an apartment . That way someone who is interested on an specific cost of an apartment for rent or buy ; doesn’t have to look an hour walk of a neighborhood
