    TY. You definitely improved my braiding technique. My last FEI show someone said "nice braids" as I walked to the warm up. Jokes on them. I did them up in 20 mins and won every test

    I love the attitude, classy equestrians can be so intimidating and it made it a lot easier to see someone be more down to earth about it 💛

      If they are intimidating, I submit that they are not classy.

    I know I am suuuuuuupppppppeeeerrrr late! but I tried these on my working hunter pony and they really made her neck look built up and beautiful... I just sprayed them afterwards with a gloss spray and I am using this method from now on! The yarn makes it softer on them also...i used to always use bands but cannot wait to get rid of them now! thank you so much!

      Keep the bands for blowouts and emergencies. I showed with a band as a keeper all season last year :D

    This is my favorite way to braid. Perfect button braids for dressage, but also wonderful for hunter/jumper or open shows (will just do a larger number of smaller braids, compared to the dressage ones).😊❤👍

    I needed this! There's no earthly way I would survive pulling my Percheron gelding's mane (I shorten with mat rakes), nor have I any desire to do hunter braids on what seems like a 6' stretch of crest. We are doing some open driving shows and I was in desperate need of a good vid on buttons! Thanks!

    I tried to do this on a hobby horse and it didn't work...I think it was because I made the mane super long when making the hobby horse but I would definitely try this on a real horse!

    Very pretty! Just a stupid question though- would I be able to get the same results with elastics or would I have to use an altered method?

    • @AustenGage
      @AustenGage  8 лет назад

      Elsabe L Beyers I honestly haven't experimented with elastics. My gut feeling is that they wouldn't be able to stay in as well and remain as fluffy without the yarn.

    I just cut my horse's mane rather than pull it lmao I'm too lazy and she hates it being pulled :/

    Nice plaits, but definitely not dutch scallop plaits. ;) We dutch do it differently.

    For even lazier people, roach the mane!
