    Does anyone know the specifics on the type of needle she uses?

      Stephanie Gies I’m not sure what she is using, but I use a large plastic needle so it isn’t so sharp. Most tack shops will have them, I got mine in a braiding kit along with some other tools

      You can use any thick needle

      Darning needles are always a good choice x

      Really late reply, no it's not a requirement for dressage. Most people do plait for etiquette and to show off their horse's outline.
