    • @ViolentMLG
      @ViolentMLG 3 года назад +68

      @Andy Brian Cheap to buy is kind of the point.
      You're saving money up front that you'll lose on depreciation later.
      You're also forgetting this is an N-Line, which should hold higher value among car enthusiast.
      I also think Hyundai's depreciating faster than other car brands could change soon. Something like the Sonata is a way more appealing buy than its past models, and now it looks like a serious contender. Old Hyundai models looked like they were pretty outdated and only offered a value proposition.
      Regardless, I personally don't care about resale value when its small. 2015 Honda Accords go for 10K-15K. 2015 Sonata's go for around 7K-15K.
      If you care about depreciation after you just took a 20K hit in 5-6 years on depreciation regardless of model, then maybe you shouldn't buy new.

      @Andy Brian I have 150,000 on my 15 Sonata 2.0t from multiple cross state trips. No engine issues and runs great. Has a higher or matching resale value for an Accord and Altima for the same specs. I don’t know what you’re talking about, but as a Hyundai owner it is not true. There’s a reason why Hyundai has the most brand loyalty of any brand. And my car wasn’t exactly cheap, $34,000 is not low for the mainstream midsize class. It also has a much nicer interior than the same year Accord.

    Okay folks, first of all, excellent review video and love your stuff. Secondly, I bought this car as a daily coming from a c7 corvette for a daily. While the top end can feel underwhelming at times, this car is awesome. You get all the front wheel drive fun, with a basically self-driving car. The highway driving assist is bar-none the best I’ve used. The torque on this car means that getting out of weird traffic patterns on highways or doing pulls alone is a breeze and surprisingly quick. The only thing I don’t like has been the transmission. This car is so torquey and the nature of the FWD means that you can smoke the wheels into 4th from a dig. The transmission can feel clunky as hell at times and doesn’t exude confidence while driving. It’s responsive enough but when you’re first getting in the car after sitting overnight or a couple of hours even, you can put it into gear and start trying to drive for the trans to feel like it’s not connected. Hyundai dropped the ball on this trans and it’s the only thing I wish was different.

    I have an N-Line. I was originally going to get the the Limited till I heard about the N-Line and I can say I'm happy. I love the looks of the car and I have the stormy sea color. Last night I left work and a co-worker was in his caddy, and he was flooring it as we were driving so I floored it as well and passed him. When I saw him today, he said the car really takes off. I had to slow down when I realized I was doing 120.
    As for not having a limited slip, it doesn't bother me. This isn't an N car which it would have if it is was and they have those Genesis models if you want the limited slip. When the warmer weather comes, I think these Pirelli tires are going to stick pretty well to the road.

    I just wish the Veloster had an interior as nice as this. It's the one thing holding me back from it. It would be one thing if it was just fine... but it's bad.
    Hoping the Elantra N solves some of that concern. I'm not expecting Mazda 3 interior but something at least you'd expect for the price. Let the Veloster be the track car and give us a truly comfortable daily.

      It's called fake engine sounds. A lot of car manufacturers are piping in fake sounds because tiny little 4 cyls don't sound good. Remove the glove box and pull the wire that feeds it. I personally think it sounds like a trashy car game from the 90's.

    I definitely see the front wheel drive character of the car, and savagegeese really didn’t like all the power going thru the front wheels spinning all the time, but I don’t not mind it. Often it’s fun, and it’s also not always your hitting the traction button off and putting your foot to the floor. In normal everyday driving you don’t have to really floor it anytime, and when you do it’s just to do it, and not because you had to.

    I want to like this car. It's a fast, family sedan with a nice interior and humble badge. I just don't want a wheel spinning fwd car that can't put the power down. Come on H/K. Saab isn't around anymore, so stop trying to emulate that idea. Put AWD on this and you'll have something. You're so close! At least put an LSD on it!!!
