- Pikachu gets some great moves like Fake Out and Extreme Speed, which is why Light Ball Tera Normal Pikachu is so good! It allows Pikachu to be swapped in, flinch the Pokemon with a boosted Fake Out and hit hard with Extreme Speed or Volt Tackle! Orthworm was great for this team because it was able to use Shed Tail to provide a Substitute for set up Pokemon!

The approach you take with these videos really is a breath of fresh air. I feel like a lot of Showdown creators go out of their way to be needlessly flashy and over-sell a mon's usefulness, but your strategies mix more believably into a given team comp and feel WAY more natural & creative as a result. thunderbolt overheat cyclizar is one of the most shocking things i've seen in a long time
fun fact in the almost any ability tier Gen 8 on smogon Pikachu was actually viable due to Extreme Speed and the ability Refrigerate or Galvanize respectively.
Swellow is great too. And in fact, any Pokemon can shine if you know how to use it and predict your enemies.

I noticed that you use orthworm in every video, is it because it's that good or do you just like orthworm (or is it both)
In National Dex, you can use Cyclizar or Orthworm, I still prefer Orthworm because its able to use Shed Tail but since its slower than Cyclizar, you can choose who to swap into according to what the opponent just did if that makes sense? 😅

@@ILiekFishes That's why I hold a Sitrus Berry. I know if I take too much damage that I won't be able to use it even with Sitrus Berry recovery, I still prefer to go second. Just my preference lol

In the battle against rain when kingdra was at like, 25%? How come you didn’t just click extreme speed? It would of killed Kingdra and chunked any switch in for more damage. I’m just curious.
he could've switched into ferrothorm to get chip damage with iron barbs also pikachu didn't have any answer for it so it would just need to switch out giving opponent a free turn

There was a gen 5 event in 2012 that gave you an extreme speed pikachu. That's the only way to legally get extreme speed pikachu. Also it doesn't come with volt tackle so the set used in this video is an illegal set

Which should make volt tackle legal, and if you transfer that extreme speed Pikachu(the event one from 2012 you mention) up to scarlet and violet, put it into a picnic which a Pikachu that knows volt tackle while holding a mirror herb it would be possible to get a Pikachu that knows both v tackle and e speed

In truth, the legality of this set will be made or broken by the HOME update. If S/V do what BDSP did and erase transfer moves, then the set would be illegal, unless NatDex decides to ignore that for some reason.

No. The same reason Azumarill had way more than 100 attack with Hugh power
You need to make a difference between base stat at level and stat at level 100. At level 100 Azumarill had equal to Groundon level 100 in his attack (~ base attack 150). Pikachu had about 160 in that scene.

Light Ball doubles the actual stat, not the base stat.
Pikachu's Attack with a Light Ball reaches 458 at max, which is approximately base 157 (about on par with Necrozma-DM), as opposed to Dragonite's 408 Attack under the same circumstances.
So no, Pikachu does hit harder.
Obviously, Dragonite is still overall better at the role due to Multiscale and its ability to boost with Dragon Dance, but Pikachu does more immediate damage.
