Ok so for everybody who thinks this is useless: The excavator is throwing the mud and water out of the trench to guarantee that the field is never underwater. The water is of course fliwing back into the trench but that is what it should do, the mud in the water sinks to the ground and is left on the grass.
And working drainage is also a VITAL thing for the Netherlands since huge parts of the country are below sea level. Water has to be constantly drained to make sure the land doesn't 'sink', so it's important to do the proper maintenance of the system with great care...

A lack of water is not really the issue here, would be a bit silly to put it in a truck and drive it around. ;)
