- In this three-part makeover series, H&H's Reiko Caron tours a luxe Toronto condo designed by The Bespoke Group. The 2,220-square-foot space was originally stuck in the '80s with dated white cabinets and an awkward layout. See how the designers created a sleek and modern kitchen with plenty of warmth, thanks to light wood from the cabinets to the ceiling. The living room is even more impressive with a striking marble fireplace shot with gold veining and accented with savvy built-in storage. Really beautiful! Unrecognizable from the before photos! Very clever to disguise the stacks. I have a few bulk heads that I would love to disguise myself. This gets me thinking. I tip my hat to the designers. This condo could seamlessly fit in with the ones on Million Dollar Listing New York. Great job 👏

Stunning, functional, good quality renovation
The kitchen is beautiful, but I'd be worried about that type of wood grain dating within the next 5 years. Walnut would have been more timeless. Love the changes made to the layout though, it seems much more functional.

The older I become, I moving from rustic, cozy rooms with too much on the table tops and walls. This is clean, and sleek. Not too much. Everything is well thought out. I could bring my rustic, country little self and live here.

Amazing transformation and so many smart solutions to common sore spots in these older condos. Out of curiosity, what's the ball park cost of a renovation like this?
I really like the look. The only thing that i don't is that there are so many different types of wood but to each their own i guess.
The build in media/fireplace/dining buffet wall looks really nice but for some reason it feels unbalanced.

This kitchen /diner/ lounge( one long room) is similar to my new build starting in 2022. My conundrum is where to place the fire as I’d want it central which would mean tv above it...

This is beautiful but I would love to know the completed cost? Even the most basic reno is so expensive. I can’t imagine what this would be.
i really love this home but i have to ask what exactly is wrong with a closed concept kitchen and concrete walls
If you want to make the most out of the space, especially for condos and small spaces, the open concept rules.
I however choose to keep my kitchen enclosed as with my OCD I don't need to be reminded all the time that something is on the counter or that the dish is is the sink.
Concrete walls are pretty ugly, no?
There's nothing wrong with them of course, it's just different tastes.

I love it except for the fire place location, it’s not showing! After all the money it costed it should be the centrepiece..
exactly what I was thinking, it has a sofa blocking it 2' away....awkward, the entire length of the wall has way too much going on. Lighting, shelving, TV, fireplace, storage, and furniture.

The pale wood grain cabinetry is very "taste specific" and reminds me of faux wood laminate kitchen counters from 60 years ago. I agree with the other comments that predict this will not be "a look" within five years. I much preferred the timeless "before" kitchen with white cabinetry, and if I didn't want a white kitchen, then I would repaint the cabinets a neutral gray-green or something similar.

Martin and @JamesLawson, good observation. With the limited space and structural constraints, this was the only viable placement. To ensure safety, similar to what is done for bathrooms, we installed a GFCI electrical plug for extra safety (protects people from electrical shocks).

I like some of the ideas incorporated, but does a condo really need that much dining seating with both a table with 8 seats and the counter with 5 seats, or that much seating space? they're not exactly hosting parties right now I hope. There's really no color OR texture in this, super bland, and this style is already feeling kind of dated. I don't think this will age well, especially with the wood ceiling and generic looking wood in the kitchen.

I never get the love for these condo layouts where 2/3rds of the space are completely windowless. Like, I need windows in my kitchen, my dining space, my living space. Just looking at walls, no matter how adorned, would kill me. Also the lack of natural light.

I feel open kitchens are really good looking but stupidity at the same time. Dirty dishes at all times. Plus, the spices etc all flowing around the house due to the open nature of the kitchen. Also, kitchen needs to be cleaned at all times. Successful only if you are rich enough to keep servants or you spend the whole day in that place.
